Title: Bitcoin is down, all alts are up?
Post by: p i e c e on November 14, 2017, 01:53:06 PM
Friends, I am curious, now, when Bitcoin is down, does it mean that all altcoins will grow? On November, 12 we saw the greatest jump of Bitcoin Cash. Is there a possibility the same will happen with other alts?

Usually that is the case, when one goes down the other goes up! Altcoins will eventually go up, especially with all this clash between BTC and BHC. BHC is getting pumped. Everyone see's the value of it rising in the past few days and everyone believes its on a good road but if we wait a little longer you will see the outcome of the dump. When the dumps happens thats when miners leave it. Altcoins will rise in value after this!

There is a probability that it will happen with other alts but it is very unlikely. BCH unlike any other altcoins is a forked version of btc being manipulated at that time to the greatest extent in order for the ones behind the pump and blockchain network attack to gain a hefty sum of profit. It ain't a mere coincidence that bitcoin cash jumped a lot, it is planned. Since it is set upped, it is very unlikely for any other coins to go as bullish as BCH next time the same thing happens.

The trend was different in the past. Bitcoin and others were able to go up all together. Then something happened after 1 august fork and the pattern changed dramatically. Generally, while bitcoin is going up, altcoins can't.

There are only two ways to get out from dumping BTC. The first one is go back to fiat. The second one is to pour BTC to alt which you are confident in. Fees at the first case are much higher than at the second one. So many alts should rise soon.

Main reason of BTC down is a abnormal growth in a short period of time. It will back soon to the normal figures.

You cannot say ALL Alotcoins will grow. Some do and some do not, but Bitcoin falling is usually a good indicator for Altcoins to gain some value. This does not apply to all of them as this is TOO Broad of a statement.

Bitcoin isn't actually down but there's been price drop in the recent week due to some complicated reasons. That's a complicated situation for Bitcoin this month as Bitcoin Cash started to rise and other Altcoins. There's a shift happening in a large scale miners from Bitcoin into Bitcoin Cash so in this case, Bitcoin or cryptocurrency would likely be affected if there's another shifts is happening the future.

Main reason of BTC down is a abnormal growth in a short period of time. It will back soon to the normal figures.

Everyone are hoping for Bitcoin rise back because of investments while Bitcoin is on a $6k mark today and may investors also are buying Bitcoin as value will soon rise and get back on track. recent weeks, experts predicted Bitcoin to reach $10k by the end of the year and $15k early next year.
Everyone hopes that Bitcoin will be back on track.

I agree with you the same thing as yesterday the btc price went down to start a new coin after the btc finished coin will soon be back at normal price. This is a good time to start trading on altcoin.

Yes most of the time when bitcoin is down most of the alts are down. However there are instances that when bitcoin is pumping some major alt coins are pumping too. Just like what happened with the bitcoin cash, it's like BCH vs alt coins+bitcoin and when bitcoin cash starts to get dumped. The investments flowed to all of the alt coins in the market and that made everyone rush to their respective alt coins and majority get backed to bitcoin.

Bitcoin's value will definitely over when vast majority of investors will dump their Bitcoins and invest them into Bitcoin Cash or other Altcoins. In this case, Bitcoin will be underrated and Altcoins will have to be the next Bitcoin. But I think there has to be ways to maintain Bitcoin as the number 1 most valued cryptocurrency in the world. But the fortune isn't limited only for Bitcoin, Altcoins has the potential to be the next Bitcoin and it's almost time for Bitcoin Cash to seat as the second most valuable cryptocurrency in the cryptoworld.

That is true , Because all alts is traded against BTC and it is totally normal . I had an alt coin that was worth $0.058 when BTC was $4500 and now  this alt is down a big % but it is still worth almost the same $0.058 in terms of $ . Alts in reality is not getting dumped when BTC up they are just adjusting to worth exactly what they should worth .

With all that said crypto world have no rules alts and BTC can pumped at same time and the other way around .

Anything is possible on this trading world on which every coin does really have a chance to pump but would really depend if there would be a plan for the community to pump such thing or any individuals that do have the power to pump such coin like whales or huge investors. Bitcoin and altcoin doesn't mean that they do have correlated prices anytime knowing that there are some instances on where its price being affected.

It doesn't look like altcoins are going to grow in comming days or maybe even weeks. I think there will be further developments of pumps and dumps of BTC and its forks for some time. Only when this shenanigan with bitcoin is ended we can expect noticeable grow of altcoins.

When people needs to get involved with innovation hence Bitcoin is overrated and Bitcoin Cash will now have it's time to shine. It's not about the loyalty because investors and businessmen are into profits and not partnerships. Bitcoin Cash will due rise because it gains support from large scale miners and investors were eyeing the possibilities of the future of Bitcoin Cash and other Altcoin today.

There's a lot of members were not impressed with Bitcoin Cash pump since last week but the truth is Bitcoin cannot pretend to be the highest valued cryptocurrency in the world of technology and competition there's a lot of work to be deal with. Bitcoin Cash would be the next Bitcoin even people are ignoring it. Bitcoin Cash wasn't created to put Bitcoin into trouble but instead in the first place it helped pumped Bitcoin's value since last August this year.

It has been observed that the inverse relation usually works between bitcoin and alts. When ever bitcoin surges alts take a dip and when bitcoin takes a dip alts usually rise. But I believe that if bitcoin goes down drastically, it will take down alts with it.

Actually before that was also one of the significance a trader must look up to, but for now its also kinda unlredictable, there is also a slight chance that it wont go up as expected, but more importantly it will soon follow to bitcoin's price.

it is possible that the value of bitcoin actually drops, but alt coins can not exceed the value of bitcoin. As Btc is considered to be the highest value in the world of cryptocurrency.

Well, of all the months I've been here, i noticed that everytime that is what usually happens when bitcoin's price goes down. The alternative coins simply goes up. But the thing is, it hasn't really happened yet that much(at least at this moment). But alternative couns are already rising a bit. Amd i think after all the bitcoin cash hype, all alternative coins will eventually go up in value shortly  after the dumps happen.

It will always be a possibility. Everything is pretty possible here in the world of crypto. I did not think that it was possible for Bitcoin Cash to jump that higher suddenly to reach a very big value in a quick time. But it all happened. So if its possible to Bitcoin Cash I think it is also possible to some other projects provided they have a strong support.

Yes the alt coins are growing when bitcoin is down but there are times that everything that is going up too when bitcoin is up. There is a rally between bitcoin cash and bitcoin, and it's like alt coins are partial with bitcoin so the market is affected.

Need to remember we're entering the Christmas period soon so any companies will most likely wait until Q1 before releasing any big announcements. I wouldn't be surprised to see all coins gradually dip over the holiday period and then come back in the new year.

A year ago that seemed to be always the case, but now it's not necessarily the case. The reason for that is that people were holding to BTC exclusively to get free coins via the fork that never happened. Once people realized the fork was no where to be seen, they decided to reinvest in ALT-Coins which had been damaged by the recent mania to get free fork coins.

Hmm it would be perfect, but not really. You are correnct that it used to preserve like that, but the last time during the Bitcoin gold fork someting get broken. In the same time Bitcoin cash started grow, and at the end all alts lost and both bitcoins gain. By the way, the case when bitcoin is losing alts should growing and the whole market should be green.

There is a volatility with all coins. Some go up and some go down. Hard to predict based on the markets. BCH is just a split off Bitcoin so really it has the name notariaty that goes with it.

Last few days bitcoin was down a little by the price in the crypto market, and those altcoin was rising up. Many token distributed in many ICOs project because of this and giving free airdrop for the participants, but now bitcoin slowly recovered the price go high again.
Then go back to you question, definitely no possible of increasing of altcoins because there are too many now emerging altcoin in crypto market.

In a scenario of stock market, price will go up based on the performance of the company and sometimes the market can be predicted and can be anticipated its future value while cryptocurrency like bitcoin and altcoins are based on supply and demand, it is volatile and unpredictable. For the last 2 quarters this year the bitcoin's demand goes up to due to fork thinking that any altcoin forked from btc will give some 1:1 payback that's why the btc price goes up and some altcoins go low. Now, when the latest fork announcement was failed, some of the bitcoin players dumped some part of its bitcoin into an altcoin exchange that's the reason why the price comparison was inversely proportional. FUD is still a part of this unpredictable price of altcoins maybe in a couple of months both altcoins and bitcoin's price will stabilized.

It is happening already, Before BTG/S2X we saw a big jump on Bitcoin's price and a bloody hell of price on AltCoins which means people transferred their money into BTC to get free coins, Bitcoin's price dip after the cancellation of S2X with that same time we saw some alt's are impressively increased their prices and some of them are back now.

The BCH price jump is a different story, it is caused (we'll probably) by Big Whales to attack Bitcoin and create a FUD and illusion that BCH is more superior on BTC. As of now the dip on BCH is happening and BTC is now slowly on an uptrend movement, and also Alts are now on an uptrend movement.

As you can see the clear loser here is the BCH.

Loosely speaking there is kind of such a relationship, people want to get out of bitcoin when its crashing and they move their money to alts and so alts pump. We will not see similar to bitcoin cash however because that is a very unique circumstance, other alts are not such a good alternative as bitcoin cash is.

In this case, the drop of bitcoin is caused by other reasons than before, but we already see that some altas, including the etherium, are rising in price. This is a good sign. Recently, bitcoin has risen very sharply and this has caused some concern. In the situation with the rising cost of bitcoin cash, I see positive moments that should lead to some elimination of the shortcomings of bitcoin, or it will fall in price even further.

Right now, BTC is trading in the $6,800-7,000 range, which is around 3% lower than the rates we were having before the SegWit2X cancellation. But even now BTC is having around 53% market share of the crypto market capitalization. If you include its clones (BCH and BTG), then this proportion rises to 65%. Actually it is the BTC which is going up, against the alts.

It is perfectly possible, as soon as the projects are developed to the next stage there will be many projects attracting investors. I affirm that in 2018 will be the year of altcoin rise strongly

Don't worry guys. If one coin increase the other coin will decrease. I think that all is usual. We must wait and believe that bitcoin will be rising again  ;)
From my opinion, if ETH gets pumped even a little bit, all these altcoins will have the pump at the same time, mainly because the value to dollars increase while actually the value exchanged to ETH remains the same. So it's atleast good for altcoins holders who want to cash out to fiat but not for those who expect to convert it to ETH or other altcoins. But still, a good green market for a day.

Bitcoin is gaining strength again after segwit2x and I think this coming year the price will go to $10k. This ups and downs will happen anytime and nothing to worry.

Bitcoin is a deal maker of all of the  cryptocurrency. Bitcoin stability will provided an environment for many alt to grow in value and have great volume as a result of calm atmosphere. Bitcoin cash is just a pump nothing more.

Usually when bitcoin down altcoins up, when btc down the best time to buy btc ofcourse. I think also bitcoin price will reach $10k soon. So the best moment when btc down is hold and dont get panic btc will be back at its price to rise.

Friends, I am curious, now, when Bitcoin is down, does it mean that all altcoins will grow? On November, 12 we saw the greatest jump of Bitcoin Cash. Is there a possibility the same will happen with other alts?
I also had time to feel it before.. friend, nothing is impossible if we really sure of one thing. Already had proven now all is back to the green, Bitcoin and Altcoins indeed was proved very appropriate for investing in it. The decline has proven it was only temporary, and I'm also sure of it before.. it will be back on the green. It seems looks at nowadays more opportunities to gain profits is very wide open for us on investing ;)

This year we got so many new cryptocurrencies on the market that it is really hard to keep track of all what happens in the space. Only people with a lot of funds can spread their money enough to avoid taking losses in alts. But I believe as there are so many new coins out, now most of them are still in a bargain phase, so in 2018 most of them will appreciate nicely in price, as far as they can deliver something. The projects that just collected millions via ICO and dont even know how to produce their product, will fail of course. Always remember: only 1 out of 10 startup survives the first year. We will see how this turns to be true in crypto very, very soon.

Theoretically it is like that way, when the primary coin is low then it will follow that alternative coins will rise, but based in the history of bitcoin it is only temporal. Still bitcoin holds the position of being on top. Moreover, holding altcoins either bitcoin's vale drop or rises really matters less as long as you are holding a good altcoin.

There are too many sons of bitcoin, and as we can see the sons grow up quickly, I think it is not a good news for the crypto market.

well, there are too many coins that want to be like bitcoin. but most of them follow ethereum, because the price is stable. well, but like altcoin prices will actually go up if bitcoin prices decrease.

There's always a possibility for other altcoins getting up and vice versa. For me this condition is really annoying. You can imagine how annoying it is when we'd like to sell our altcoins because of a high price,  but the bitcoin's price show a low rate. Then we will immediately change our mind. That's crypto world.

Bitcoin has been through some stuff now with the fork, and there are a lot of projects incoming that will further influence its price. You have for example CME that will soon start trading futures of bitcoin, which means that many institutional investors will all of the sudden be interested in bitcoin. It will give as well the option to short bitcoin, which is great news because many exchanges don't offer shorting, and that's the only way to bet against Bitcoin if you are not a believer. It will be interesting to see how things will develop with CME, but fact is that it will majorly influence the price, it might already be accounted in the current price, which is about seven thousand, but till December there are so many more things that can happen.
