Title: CPU and GPU similar mBTC output
Post by: Variomatic on November 14, 2017, 03:25:31 PM
So I started mining a few days ago, using Nicehash running on my desktop (FX8350 and a GTX780, both overclocked). I'm very well aware this is n't the best setup, in fact for mining it's terrible but it's just a proof of concept for myself. Also I don't pay for electricity as it's included in my rent, so I don't have to worry about that.

Anyway, I'm noticing that my CPU is generating 0.126mBTC a day (about 300-330H/s) and my GPU is generating 0.167mBTC a day (8-19MH/s). Now I don't have a frame of reference, I understand I'm lucky to get 19MH/s out of a GTX780, but I don't know why the fluctuation is so huge, it spend 90% of it's time at 8MH/s. Why is this?  ???

1) This is Bitcoin section, you should post in alt section

2) You cant mine Bitcoin with CPU nor GPU

3) You need powerful machines called ASIC, like S9 from Bitmain

4) You are not mining Bitcoin on Nicehash, you are mining alt coins(that is the place for this topic). You are payed in BTC, to be more precise you are selling your hash power to other people, and they mine with your CPU and GPU algorithm of their choice.

5) Your hashing speed is changing depending of which algorithm you are mining, that is why you have fluctuations different algorithm different speed
