Title: Block Eruptor Blades Post by: Cobega on June 22, 2013, 05:53:04 PM hello community;
I bought one block eruptor blade from fiedcat. The blade shows this in panel: http://puu.sh/3lJHl.png Another blade runs with much more GH/s (I get from a friend): http://puu.sh/3lJIp.png Now my question what means the "x" in: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOxOOOOOO Seems like one of the blades is newer (at the first screenshot below: BE Blade Rev 0.2), but it makes not as much hashes as the older model made. And why is the hashrate so low? I turned the mode to "overclocked" (high) but it just get his highest rate at 12,5-12,6 GH/s. Sry. for bad english! Kind regards Title: Re: Block Eruptor Blades Post by: lazydna on June 22, 2013, 06:36:54 PM hello community; I bought one block eruptor blade from fiedcat. Kind regards with overclocking, it's really a roll of the dice as to what quality you get. no overclocking is guaranteed to produce X amount of results, some will preform better then others. Title: Re: Block Eruptor Blades Post by: Xian01 on June 22, 2013, 07:48:22 PM any idea of the x in the chip? Does the x appear when you set your clock to default speed, or does it only appear with the clock on it's High setting ? Title: Re: Block Eruptor Blades Post by: Cobega on June 22, 2013, 07:57:51 PM it appears too when i set the clock to default (low) speed
Title: Re: Block Eruptor Blades Post by: Xian01 on June 22, 2013, 08:09:14 PM it appears too when i set the clock to default (low) speed Going to have to assume you have a bad hashing chip if that's the case :( Only thing that makes sense :( Sounds like a case for a warranty replacement, unfortunately. Title: Re: Block Eruptor Blades Post by: Cobega on June 22, 2013, 08:12:32 PM everbody tells me sth differnt:
Somebody told me: The x shows a chip isn't getting enough voltage. You'll need to tweak its power lane up slightly. That might fix all your problems. I don't know what do to. Did I have to fix this via multimeter? Or with a stronger psu? Or did I need to contact friedcat for replace? Is he still active? Or did I need to contact friedcat for replace? Is he still active? It could be because the chip is bad or because it's not receiving a high enough voltage to run stable at the selected clock setting. i am waiting for an answer of dogie :D I just pmmed him. Title: Re: Block Eruptor Blades Post by: Xian01 on June 26, 2013, 06:46:57 PM I came across this issue today while restarting one of my blades. Two chips show up marked as "xx" when I had the blade defaulting to high clock mode.
If I have it defaulting to low clock mode, it comes up fine with O's across the board, and then I can toggle it to High clock speed and get it hashing closer to 13GH/s. Emailed friedcat to report the issue/troubleshooting and we'll see how it gets resolved. Presently running two blades off a Corsair 1200 (total overkill) on two separate rails, so I definitely know it's not a power problem. Also had the same problem when I had it plugged in to a Corsair 650 :( Title: Re: Block Eruptor Blades Post by: mitty on June 26, 2013, 08:19:15 PM Maybe try checking the voltage of each power lane with a multimeter and manually adjusting any that are below 1.20v?
I think the included instructions show you how to do this. (adjust the little screw on the blue box looking things on the power module while reading the voltage with a multimeter) Title: Re: Block Eruptor Blades Post by: Xian01 on June 26, 2013, 09:25:14 PM adjust the little screw on the blue box looking things on the power module while reading the voltage with a multimeter *Note to self: Buy a multimeter next time he passes a Fry's Electronics* Title: Re: Block Eruptor Blades Post by: mitty on June 27, 2013, 03:44:05 AM adjust the little screw on the blue box looking things on the power module while reading the voltage with a multimeter *Note to self: Buy a multimeter next time he passes a Fry's Electronics* Can't beat free 2 day shipping (assuming you have amazon prime). ;) Title: Re: Block Eruptor Blades Post by: Xian01 on June 27, 2013, 04:38:43 AM adjust the little screw on the blue box looking things on the power module while reading the voltage with a multimeter *Note to self: Buy a multimeter next time he passes a Fry's Electronics* Can't beat free 2 day shipping (assuming you have amazon prime). ;) Thanks for the recommendation. Ordered it off Amazon. Cheers ! Is he still active? this sounds right. i recall the board needed physical voltage adjustment if using an overclock. check the "manual" available online Title: Re: Block Eruptor Blades Post by: pikeadz on June 27, 2013, 10:18:58 AM Mine has one x as well, but I can make it go away easily. Whenever I restart in High clock mode, it appears. So the way I avoid it is I make the clock "low" first, restart, and then go back into "High" clock mode. Then I get all 0s for the chips and it hashes perfectly. I am not going to RMA it for such a simple issue. Friedcat said the voltage may need to be adjusted on one of the banks but I'd prefer not to tinker if I don't have to. Good luck.
