While I am a reformed ex felon, infamous for running the largest pyramid scheme for a minor in high school (see my videos) I see no reason why I should not come out of retirement to scam everyone that uses bitcoins because bitcoin users consist of scammers, gamblers, drug dealers and worse (child porn peddlers, etc). Since bitcoins are virtual and governments do not recognize this, I do not see what charges there would be for stealing as many scumbag bitcoins as possible. Thoughts?

twitter search lied to me I guess, or I didn't structure my query right. But yeah this is horrible, piratejr could have had money.

That wasn't gleaned from Twitter. It was a comment on a Max Keiser YT video. It was that comment that made me think he's already among us (maybe I should rephrase that).

The video mentions that it is a felony in California for a business to raise money without registering with the SEC. So are all Bitcoin stocks illegal in California? ???

Bitcoin is not considered money by the state of California (at least in regard to money transmission):

Quote
2003 (n) "Money" means a medium of exchange that is authorized or
adopted by the United States or a foreign government. The term
includes a monetary unit of account established by an
intergovernmental organization or by agreement between two or more
governments.

I wonder how California will feel about a Condom Exchange.

Only 21M Condoms will ever be allowed to be exchanged. Currently, 10 Cm = $1.04 on the black market (or OTC).

When that happens, meet me at the Hampton. I'll be the guy vainly standing, holding court with a circle of friends.
