I used to assume before now that bitcoin is the all and all of crypto, maybe because discovered bitcoin before other cryptos like ethereum. But over time, that assumption is at the verge of being reversed. This is because i now discovered that apart from being a means of exchange, ethereum also has the power of smart contract. Which do you think is better and has great future?

The expansion of the ETH is truly outrageous, and it is very interesting and advanced that almost any blockchain application can be run on the public chain of the ETH with a smart contract.The advantage of bitcoin is that it is an old-age coin, even the benchmark unit of altcoin, which ETH cannot match.

since ethereum is not even a currency and also because it has lots and lots of issues which are countless to be honest, i say ETH has no chance in the future. it will actually die pretty soon instead of having any chance to grow to be anything at all.
all the hacks, the centralization, inability to sync your wallet, bloated blockchain, exploits, ...

the smart contracts that you recently found out about and think is the best thing, is being used the worst way possible by ethereum platform! the other competing projects use it so much better and easier. in way that you can create one without having much knowledge and at a much cheaper price.

In my experience bitcoin is better than ethereum and now bitcoin is booming a lot of new people who just know crypto just chase and look for bitcoin because don't know what is its core ethereum I think the future of bitcoin is better than ethereum

Platform of the Eth is the main one for emerging new tokens, and in the near future such will remain. I think that Eth at the moment is significantly undervalued and its price will grow. Compare BTC with Eth does not make sense, these are different platforms designed for different tasks.

In all the forums, in all the threads that ive been read, all those comments and all those replies are bitcoin, all bitcoin is the best, bitcoin is the future of the cryptocurrency, bitcoin is the best that helps the companies and all the big groups. And also based on being a bitcoiner thats why it is bitcoin will be the best in all the crypto that is made.

Not only the smartcontract, the ethereum already become the privacy currency at the time the ethereum has used zsnakrs on its platform, and vitalik already talked about zstarks in the previous conference. that means there will be an update or improvement on the new privacy tech implementation.

I personally believe in ethereum long term.

I don't think Ether has what it takes to stand the test of time. Bugs such as these https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/nov/08/cryptocurrency-300m-dollars-stolen-bug-ether will be its downfall. Although I have to admit the technology itself is amazing, but needs a lot of testing before it can be safe for mainstream use.

yes ethereum is the most stable coin of its price,not like others altcoin, and has become the based of coins to do smart contract. Im sure ethereum is a good choice coin for longterm.

Ethereum is more stable and much faster than Bitcoin. The biggest advantage of Bitcoin is the brand name and permanent media coverage. Ethereum's future is brighter than Bitcoin.

It depends how far into the future you're talking about.  I think really long term something else comes along that is better than both and becomes the main thing everyone uses.  Mainly because currencies have problems and in the digital space it is possible to create the perfect one and that obviously hasn't been done yet.

Bitcoin and ethereum are completely different things, we shouldn't compare them as one provide secure and anonymous payment gateway others provide platform for smart contracts. Also, Bitcoin is great because it is decentralized while Ethereum is centralized which is a hindrance to beating BTC. ETH is good as making smart contract while BTC is much widely accepted and there are merchants who accept BTC as a mode of payment and legalized it unlike ETH who is stuck in creating smart contracts and nothing much.

There is some people said that bitcoin is the future cryptocurrency and some are ethereum but for me both of these are the highest value in the market. These crypto have a bright future.

These both are very promising coins but Bitcoin will always at the top of cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is the most decentralized and in fact the most democratic coin as well and having the highest market cap of $ 100 billion. Ethereum I believe will be at the top of all Altcoins.

The future of cryptocurrency as i see is still bitcoin. As you can distinguish by comparing its value movement, bitcoin is continuing to grow as its community continues to spread. The price of bitcoin is still considerably worth more that ETH even though ETH shows obvious improve in activity and value.

It is because they have different functionality and purpose. Bitcoin is for remittance and ethereum is for smart contract. ETH could have been better if they have a good quality check before sending out their codes. ETH keeps having bugs just like the recent parity issues. That is what makes ETH inferior before bitcoin. It may have an advantage when it comes to smart contract but I cannot fully trust ETH because of those bugs and errors. Bitcoin is still way better.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are both good cryptocurrencies. But we cannot narrow it down to these two. There are many incoming cryptocurrencies which also have high values. We can include Litecoin which has a versatile way of getting it. We can also say that these two have both advantages and disadvantages. Ethereum is good in a way that we can get or buy tokens with it while Bitcoin is used to buy things and we can use bitcoin to transact with others owning a bitcoin wallet.

Currently I believe all of us would agree that Bitcoin holds the position of being in the top choice in terms of investment wise for its strong credibility with maintained market value after many years. Etherium will not be left behind for it holds may good ICOs. I do believe that the investors capability is the main deciding factor. Both two are good investments but the primary difference is that Bitcoin requires higher fund for you to invest on it as compared to a lower fund required by Etherium. If you have a deep pocket then probably you will dive in for Bitcoin and for those with lower capability, they might consider choosing Etherium instead to have more investments.

Bitcoin. But since its a lot expensive than ETC. Its good to invest with ETC too since its still not as expensive as BTC. Both are long term, its just BTC has been stable and on its all-time high.

But there's nothing about it. As long as we are benefiting from it, there's no harm.

Yes, its better to have Ethereum as well, at least diversify. We don't know what the future holds, so you have options. I'm saying that we need to hold both of them long term like 1 year minimum to see and get a nice profit. If you hold less than that then you will not get the full potential of both coins.

I think Bitcoin has already created its future right now with this coin catching all the pressures in mainstream with medias, banks, governments and countries going crazy. It has already created dominance which we never know when will last or what may happen. But if you are talking about what is the future from now, It should be ethereum. For an invstment bitcoin is more liquid compared to ethereum, but ethereum's smart contracts are great for business companies based on blockchain. That's why I'm neutral in this comparison.

Ethereum has fundamental design flaw: bugs in contracts are stored forever in the blockchain and cannot be changed. Smart contract is code, and any code would always have bugs. All the money in the contract could be lost due to bug in the smart contract code, which automatically makes all operations with Ethereum extremely risky. That is why I think Ethereum will not be widely adopted as standard of crowdfunding industry.

In terms of investment bitcoin is and will forever be the most profitable of all cryptocurrency, it being the first one be founded i gained popularity over time and with it the cryptocurrency built a name around it, and for most users there is only bitcoin others are just a hopeless way to copy it, they are founded with no new ideas and has nothing to prove, but recently poeple have taken notice of how the ethereum had new ideas to bring and how people are using it and how practical it is, so in the future i think that poeple will not use bitcoin for thier every day lives needs and for being things regulary, it will be ethereum.

BTC and ETH, as we all know, differ in purpose and technical ways. BTC was build as an alternative currency to regular money that we use today. It became as another medium for payment transaction. ETH was been created as a platform which facilitates P2P contracts and apps through its own currency. Both are digital currencies but the purpose were different. Ethereum devs do not establish ETH with the same purpose of Bitcoin. Instead, it facilitate and monetize around its network which enable other devs to create algorithms which lead up to building other coins. While we see Ethereum as a cryptocurrency that could catch up and is currently second to Bitcoin in terms of market value. It does not compete with the latter. Both digital coins established with different intentions and purpose that can lead the digital economy into a much brighter future.

Two different coins and both of them will lead the market for a long time. I don't think that Etherem will overtake BTC in the nearest future, but it'll definitely become stonger and stronger. ETH has more potential to grow than BTC, it's not just a coin it a platform, and it has a lot of advantages comparing to BTC. ETH is underestimated now and BTC is very overvalued.

It's not even a question to me, will bitcoin remain king or will vitaliks centralized ico coin win over bitcoin. Obviously bitcoin will remain king.

For the near future it must be Bitcoin cause for next few years I think there are no altcoin can beat the 1st place of Bitcoin. But for futhur I think it'll be ETH. Take a look back from the early of this year until now we can easily see that ETH price has increased more than 4000$ in this year meanwhile Bitcoin price has only increased more than 1000%. Beside to complete a Bitcoin transaction, it'll take really long time but with ETH transaction we just need to wait about 2 or 3 minutes for our transaction get enough confirm. Beside there are a lot of new token and almost them depend on ETH blockchain....There are still a lot of thing make me think that it must be ETH but I think these cases are enough to prove :))

I have an opposite opinion I think bitcoin have a good popularity because it is first and now many people know about bitcoin and don't know about others cryptocurrencies. When cryptocurrency will enter in life of people, people will begin to understand that bitcoin isn't so good and many others currencies better. And I think ETH and altcoins are the future.

Both Bitcoin and Ether are the print of the future. Bitcoin is always on the rise and it is also growing, there is also an increase in the Ethereum, people are taking very risk in the ether.

You seems to be right. You thought of that because, it was only bitcoin you had knowledge of. Presently, there are several coins on the crypto space, apart from Bitcoin and Ethereum. There are so many buzz and noise going around Ethereum lately. It gained some considerable value, which it has not shown in the past months. I think that for today every user of crypto currency studies each project through the prism of the demand for a specific idea in society and how realistic these coins will be used by mankind in the future. if Bitcoin will be used as a means of payment, Bitcoin will continue to exist with the Etherium, and if not, Bitcoin will leave.

As over the time, I have replied this and saying it again that in real world there is absolute no comparison between Bitcoin and Ethereum apart from there existence in the crypto space.
Bitcoin is by all means is still a digital currency and is the most popular crypto currency. Ethereum on the other hand is the blockchain tech that allows deploying smart contracts and build dApps on ethereum network.

When it comes to market capital and market dominance, bitcoin by all means is still dominating the market with 42% and above, whereas Ethereum holds around 17%, ETH has to go a long way to come even close to Bitcoin.

No doubt, both of these have very strong potential and I presume both are here to stay for now and in the future and eventually my answer is that its not only 1 coin that could build a crypto space in future but an entire market which could possess many coins together.

I would say that both Bitcoin and Ethereum have good futures ahead of them. I think both will grow in the future. Today crypto curency community is quite crowded. It is the premise for coins and altcoins to grow under.

I know at this moment there is lots of token which is better than them technically but people like btc and eth they can trust it easily. I think than its hard for btc to collapse. But for eth the competition is going harder and harder. Eos and Neo are big competition for eth. And eth have many problem regarding its project it's need more development.

I think comparing them for survival is not good. Bitcoin and Ethereum is very much different from each other. So in future we need both of them. Bitcoin is the oldest coin so we have the trust on it. That's why in my opinion it will survive for a long time. And in other hand ethereum has the power of smart contracts. We can run any block chain project in ethereum. And recently they announced  the upgradation of
its ecosystem. So I think maybe one day they will be replaced but it will take very long time maybe.

The Ethereum has lost its value like 12/1 times in 1 year.. This is terrible think to say but it is ture. The ETH also lost second place to Ripple and became the third coin on the coinmarketcap. For me bitcoin has much higher adoption than ethereum now. There are a lot of common people who don't even heard about ethereum, unlike about bitcoin. Ethereum is much comlex platform so there is much higher chance of some kind of failure. Bitcoin is much simpler, it running like clockwork for ten years already. Although on the other hand real business should be interested in smart contract platform much more than in BTC. Nevertheless I bet on BTC.

You are right imo. Even though Ethereum can improve in the future, Bitcoin does not stand still either. As far as I know the Bitcoin protocol can be used to create smart contracts and some developers are already working in this direction.

I think in the future there will be at least 20 coins specializing in different fields which will be used widely by many people, and, of course, Bitcoin and Ethereum will be among those coins. The only thing I'm not sure of is whether "20" is a good estimation. I mean, it can be 200 or even 2,000 such coins/tokens in the future, each used specifically for this or that purpose. Of course, it would be hell on earth if we were obliged to decide each time which coin to use for this or that purchase, but actually that won't be necessary because your wallet can make a perfect decision for you while you can even forget which coins you have and which you don't.

I think both because those two coins in the crypto world are both more popular to all crypto users that is why both  has the possibility to be a future cryptocurrency  which can bring a new future for us.

Hello mate, I think it is difficult to answer this question. Because it will depend on whatever the way of crypto in the future. sometime another coin will take the role of, BTC nither the ETH. But near future, it will almost BTC.

Both are the best coins in cryptocurrency and have a bright future potential, but if I have to choose I will choose bitcoin which will become the future cryptocurrency.

Well there is no doubt Bitcoin is the future of cryptocurrency as it made this space possible, but yet the reason why we have altcoins is to help solve more issues or challenges in the world. Thus, I will say both Bitcoin and ETH are the future of the crypto space because they have all it takes to ensure a better world.

i think the future of cryptocurrency is still on Bitcoin, why ? because the main and center cryptocurrency is on Bitcoin and never get replace by other coin.
i believe with that, we all here know if Bitcoin like all father or king of cryptocurrency.

for me the future cryptocurrency is bitcoin because it is still the leader in crptocurrecny and only ethereum is second only, and more BTC investors than ETH because they know that the bigger the amount they earn if they have invested bitcoin.

Of course, Bitcoin is even unconditionally because he is the leader. He is the first. He is the best. I don’t even see such coins to compete with him.

For me if i will we choose this two of coins ill think are both, Because this two coins are in the top coins in the market. Even do this two coins are can use it and hold it for a long investment. As of now bitcoin and etherium are both increase the price in this year than the other coins are in a dip price.

To answer your question irrespective of the fact both are good, Bitcoin still stands as the No 1 cryptocurrency thus the future of cryptocurrency. It might sound funny, but approach most people in the world and ask about cryptocurrency their reply will be Bitcoin. This shows the level bitcoin has reached.

ETH taking over bitcoin? well how it can be? in my own point of view, there's no need for ethereum to take over bitcoin. ETH has its own kingdom which is the altcoins while bitcoin is the king of all these kingdoms which is the crypto market. There's no need for us to debate and argue about these two giant crypto's because the most important is that you hold both of it.

for me the future crptocurrency is bitcoin because it is still the king until now and bitcoin is second only, so bitcoin ethereum is less likely to be diminished because people are still choosing to invest in bitcoin because it is bigger.

in my opinion Bitcoin will forever be the World's Best Cryptocurency ... even though Ethereum has a good contract and a growing platform ... but for the future bitcoin will still remain the King of all the king of coins in the world .. and that is proven by price and exchange rate all altcoins in various marketplace ...

I understand that already Bitcoin costs more than 9000 dollars and at the same time its liquidity increases every day. Here I have one opinion that Bitcoin will always be the first and Ethereum has no chance.

Definitely the future will be for bitcoin, and not one altcoin will not be able to bypass bitcoin! Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency number one!

Bitcoin has not ceased to be a leader for 10 years already, I think that this trend will continue.  Ethereum is a very good coin, but it cannot withstand Bitcoin because Bitcoin is the best movie about the best in its industry.

Time will show. But currently Bitcoin has bigger community that will not allow any altcoin to overbeat it. The community has many plans with Bitcoin, they are thinking about adding privacy feature or smart-contracts to the second layer solution.  :)

I'd prefer both of those coins. They are both worthy of attention and have a promising future. But whatever happens, bitcoin will certainly always be number one.

Of course we cant say for sure what will happen in the future with these coins, but so far bitcoin looks more confident. Ethereum for all this time has not shown any rapid growth.

Btc and Eth are both good when it comes to investments. These two has its defferemces but the good things is they both qualified for making good profit, making a secure investment and lastly both of them has a greatest impact gaining lots of investors trust. So no need to compare them because these two are both beneficial amd worth it. In addition, I can also suggest or drop another good project here tjat most likely into Btc and Eth and this is the dencoin tokens that I can say they are also a future in cryptocurrency world.

bitcoin and ethereum are both crypto. but they have advantages and disadvantages so everything depends on the functionality and usability we need whether it is better bitcoin or ethereum. what is certain is that all digital money has the same disadvantages, namely in the security function of the wallet that we have and also the exchange rate that changes very quickly.

In my opinion Bitcoin is too old as a crypto currency and future stands for the fast and cheap crypto currencies. Thats why I am wondering why LTC or NEO are so undervalued. But anyway, definitely Ethereum.

I believe that Bitcoin was and will be the best cryptocurrency in the future and will continue to develop and pull other coins behind me. I see no reason to invent something new or different since it works very well.

I still adhere to the idea that Bitcoin is immortal.  And that he will forever us please his presence in the first place in the rating.  I would like to believe that very much.

Bitcoin is going to be a reserve currency. But about Ethereum use we can only speculate, if the smart contracts will really be used in everyday life.  :)
