Title: Altcoins back to downtrend as usual
Post by: yonton on November 15, 2017, 05:27:06 PM
We've had several times over the last 4 months where many people agreed it was the best time to buy alts, but as usually after a little pump they go back to a downtrend.

That is why it is important to keep track of your coins and have a game plan for all of them. You never know what day you wake up a coin is mooning or the opposite a coin is dying out. We must be prepared for all issues!

During hardcore dumps, you can't make plans that easily. You can always set up plans for your altcoin, the market acts as the opposite of your plans. You calculate dumps, it makes pumps and you can't react.

thats the circle...you have a few months of insane uptrend were everything will be overbought and kinda overvalued and all still look and hope for the sky...

and then a few months of hard correction and bitcoin rallies that will make you forget the good runs and just gives you losses :D

thats life....the first one soon will start again ;) so be patience

The only game plan that would have worked is catch the pumps and sell quickly before it drops back in to downtrend. No long term alt holders have made gains vs bitcoin over the last 4 months

That is indeed true and we'll probably see this downtrend for a few weeks more as BTC is still looking very bullish. One might doubt that this will be a buy signal for them because they will be scare that the bottom of alts hasn't been reached yet and I can't blame anyone if they think like that. But, this will be a good opportunity also to average down to those altcoins that you hold and believe in. As long as you are holding an alt that has a very good potential of success in the future, price right now won't matter. Don't panic sell and always look into your long term plan.

Not sure, but a little correction. They all know about the altcoin will be really profitable rather than bitcoin cash. The fact that as you can see some of the altcoins still on the trend to increase more.
bitcoin gets a rumor about the next improvement in the future but there is no exact date that gives the more clue about that. Yobit added bitcoin2x. that means the possibility about segwit always there.
but I don't know when.

im fed up . it starts with China news than BTC gold fork than Segwit2x than btc -bch war and what is now or what is next ? i dont know when we can really good profit maybe we have to wait 3-4 months or one year. thats ok to me but if we are expecting btc = 10k $ than maybe alt will be same price ( with $) but than they will lost a lot again btc. look neo for example. it was 0.011 btc and 48$ on 16th August. now price is 0.0039 btc and 28.75$ . it lost almost 4x against btc but it lost 2x against $ . So btc must stop do pumping. thats enough for now :) otherwise its bets to stay on btc and doing nothing.

Yes, It's a long time many people are waiting for altcoins to rise in price. I thing new things that happened to bitcoin caused this. First people were waiting for segwit ,next it was cancelled, after that BCH was pumped that way. I think soon every thing will go back to normal and finally altcoins will pump.

You should be acostumbrated to those kind of situations, bitcoin will always win, no matter what. Altcoins have been created only to make profit from those scenarions in which bitcoin is bleeding a lot, just like it happened on the weekend with the whole situation with bitcoin cash. All the altcoins were exploding, that was a nice example.
But now that bitcoin is going up again, altcoins will start to bleed once again, and this is an entire cycle, it will never stop because it has been happening since the beggining of all this thing.

Some people have lost a lot of money for this. It seems we have speculated wrong. Altcoin will continue to decline if BTC increases. Of course, as we see in USDT, altcoin does not decrease much.

Its not as simple as bitcoin up altcoins down. Actually bitcoin and altcoins went up together in the spring and down together in the summer.

Bitcoin is having another run and the casualties are the alt coin holders. But if you took advantage of the small window where altcoins went up 30% and above profit, i think that is already good profit. You can buy again today while the alts are down again and sell when it goes back up. It is all about the timing getting in and out.

We all are acostumbrated to those kind of situations, i dont see it as a bad thing because it is a nice opportunity to buy some cheap altcoins, it is not because i say it, when there are red numbers on all the altcoins then it means that ALL of them will probably go up as soon as possible.
But most of them always go down when bitcoin goes up, i dont know why it is happening because alts are supposed to have the same pattern as bitcoin, but it seems that it is not happening at the moment,

Btc and bcc madness. Buy when you see blood on the street. That's when it's the most profitable. All in with $alts

i think this is another best time to buy altcoin while the price is in lower and we can buy many of altcoin amount and waiting another high price soon. the altcoin having turn around from up to go down again and we have this opportunity to do buying more amount. but for some altcoin, the price is not affected with bitcoin price and they are only down a little and back to stable again. and i think we are not missed the right time to buying the altcoin.

I still believe there will be another major dip in Altcoins market, there is nothing wrong in buying now because as we can all see there are many good projects now that represent good value for investors

Yes, there are tons of alt coin that only rely on traders to be alive and when more coins appear traders tend to split their investment and without the sufficient transaction volume the price will go down, if the price go up too high then it indicates the whale is pumping so it will drop again

That is the usual trend. There is nothing new there. For several months already, the rising of altcoins are very short-lived. They do not last for a long time. I hope the old days will take place again when the altcoins' high flying lasts for several days. But I guess, that will happen within the last few weeks of December. Actually, right now we are seeing some greens in the charts for the altcoins. Hoping for a repetition of same bull run for altcoins in early next year.

I'm not expecting a huge boom but some sustained growth would be nice for a change

I think altcoin investors are waken up from millionaire making dreams, it is normal to see people investing and dumping wisely. Altcoins had rallies they never had back in time.

Whenever the bitcoin is up the altcoins are getting down. During the Bitcoin cash drama period bitcoin was at 5500$ and the altcoin market was looking like to boom again. but now as bitcoin is gaining its price back the altcoins are falling.

It is very clear that there is a slight upward movement until the end of the year, but I am sure many altcoins will have a bright spot early next year, now bitcoin still celebrate the party with their hardfork so the concentration to other altcoin is very disturbed, I am trying to understand this situation.

there was a downtrend before the fork but as you might have noticed as soon as it was finished (or cancelled more accurately) everyone started investing back in altcoins. That's how things usually go, everyone runs behind the short term profit and forgets the bigger picture, which is basically that we are at the very early stage of the crypto evolution and that it takes time for a market to mature. When it does though (mature) we'll be seeing some interesting developments in both terms of seeing new projects with fantastic ideas (and blockchain integration) and price alterations. The value of most of the cryptocurrencies will increase significantly and we'll experience a new kind of investment heaven. Made for a new generation.

I agree, investing in a coin with a good product, vision and better outlook of the team like the upcoming Roboadvisorcoin, SALT etc makes viewing market changes easy to deal with.

If bitcoin goes over 8k we might see alts drop to new bottoms. Might be best to give up on alts totally and invest into them very short term only. Always be prepared to quickly dump them. It doesnt matter how good they are, they all drop to bottom when Bitcoin says so.

Doge might soon become good investment since it cannot drop lower than 1 satoshi.

Your comments need to be follow as if its going to hit this figure then we have some worst for these alt coins may be some could done suicide as they cannot handle this but few with good vision and hard forked teams can still fight for life as they have good community and well investment vision

Although the hype about bitcoin reaching $8000 is big and some bullish people said $10000, I see some altcoins like LISK, and QTUM are still in uptrend, I think bitcoin price soaring will positively affect many projects, but not immediately.
