Hello all.
The wonderful moltenmich has given me these great logos to use for Frog!

Which do you like best? You can choose two if you're having a tough time.

The text of 3 and the graphic of 1.
Some color tweaking perhaps toward 2 and additional simplification of the graphic of 1 would be spiffy. The geometric design seems to take a lot of commitment, I feel it's worth it if taken to the extreme.
I'd also like to see the letters "rog" lined up with the "f".
The "o" from 2 is charming.

I voted for 3 for its simplicity, but I really like the origami-style logo in option 1.

#3 is amazing!

Yeah, but 4 is so friendly looking!

From a design perspective there are so many things wrong on so many levels with all 4 logos.

1. The images are not crisp and sharp, it looks like they were done in Photoshop when they should have been done in Illustrator
2. The color choices are making my eyes bleed
3. The font type is horrible for all of them and needs to be addressed immediately

Other specific critiques:

#1, The font type is unclear and you don't want people spending more than a glance looking at your logo, it needs to be changed.
#2, Everything is one color and has no depth whatsoever
#3, The envelope, name, and animal should not be the same color palette, they should differ so the eyes wander
#4, The colors are too pastel and "dry", they need to be more exaggerated

Before I respond, I just want to be clear that I've gone through so many critiques at this point that I don't take any of this personally, and actually welcome it. Critiques can get messy, but if the designer puts aside their ego and actually listens, you can get great results from the conversation.

Ok, so yeah, I'm the guy who mocked these up.  So I'd be happy to address these criticisms. I'll go in order.
 
1. Everything was created in illustrator and is fully vector. The image is low rez because I just took a screengrab to show the ideas. They are all first round drafts and the chosen concept/ overall design will be reworked. So no worries there.
2.  lol
3. The font choices aren't set in stone. I personally think 1 and 3 can be effective if done correctly. 2 and 4 would be swapped for something more appropriate if chosen.

which brings me to:

#1 I think the font is pretty clear. I might spend more time looking at options that use the same style but are less angled at the baseline. That might be why you dislike it.
#2 That was intentional. Flat logos can work. I don't personally think it is the right direction to go in, but I felt it was worth offering as an option.
#3 I disagree. If this one is chosen, I'll experiment with complementary palettes instead of monochrome, but both are viable options. Directing the focus of the eyes is a goal. But that's already being accomplished by the angle of the frog>envelope corners>type. Colors could help though, so I'll explore that.  But I don't think it's terrible as is.
#4 I can see what you are saying here. Brighter colors could work really well especially since it's a cartoon. I need to use a different font too.
