I think I prefer to invest in bitcoin because bitcoin is still a lot of devotees and although bitcoin is down but there are still many who like it and maybe the price will go up again. and second i like litecoin and etherium. I think you should look at a good price chart now because the price can change at any time.

Altcoins are the best option to more in the short time so that is why i prefer to invest in altcoin, You have good option to more from digital world is earn from Bitcoin and Altcoins also.

For short term investments I chose altcoin but for a long term investment I chose Bitcoin because of the ever-increasing adoption of Bitcoin.

Invest in bitcoin 100%. It is still on its way up. From the end of the year, it's not impossible if the price would rise up 10k$ above. It is not already on its peak. On the otherhand, invest in ethereum 80% just because it is getting popular and popular these days. Erc20 is one the reasons and all the emerging ICOs up there that is supporting erc20.

for the time being I prefer investing in Altcoin I invested Ethereum and Waves.

Crave is a good way to get into running one, it only needs 500 coins and it's currently on sale   ;D  Seriously, it's a great coin and there's not many of them around (1.42 Million or so).. But it's still cheap for now.

You need to consider the project that gave birth to the coin in the first place and the team members. This is your better chance to knowing if a coin will really make some waves in the long run, most especially if you are planning to keep for the long term. A working team will always make the improvement on the coin to be worth investing and then most definitely as it stays relevant, will always grow.

My take here for short term is altcoins with potential for growth because it is more profitable but one needs to constantly change and update stash every now and then to not miss a good buying and selling price. For long term investment though, I would prefer bitcoin because it is the one requiring less effort for one to profit and is the less riskier one. All one needs to do is to look at btc price from time to time and wait for a good sell price.

For me, I considered bitcoin for investment because its value is unpredictable and I know that this is one of the top priorities of all people in investment.

there is a time for investing and there is a time for staying away. now is the time to stay away from most of the altcoins specifically those in your POLL options like bitcoin cash which are getting dumped hard after they had their pump and bubble.

and obviously if you invest in bitcoin, only because it has the long term advantage you will never lose. bitcoin is an exception in this case.

other altcoins have potential of rising. for example BTX is getting pumped these days. but soon it will be late to buy, you can also argue that now is already too late because it is already in a bubble.

You should allow multiple selection, I am not just buying only one crypto and I think many here don't like to just put all their eggs in one basket. Diversification is key in crypto investment, you can't make maximum profit by investing in only one ICO.

I am currently holding bitcoin, eth and ETC also have few other altcoins (20+) so hard to list them all here.

If you are looking for a ahort term goal, you may want to invest in altcoin but if you are looking for a long run goal that could help you have a better way of livong, you may want to try bitcoin. Bitcoin obviously. Currently in an uptrend and looking straight to $10,000 target. As you can see, when Bitcoin is in an uptrend, alts tend to goes red, especially the major one like ETH and LTC. So if you're looking to buy something right now, you should choose Bitcoin.

I suggest you focus on a few coins, do a deep research on it before opening any positions for a trade. Honestly there's too much noise in the crypto world, so better take a lot of time on research especially if you decide to hold it for a long time. One coin that you can bet on though is DeepOnion. I would like to invest in bitcoin because bitcoin is a long-term type of investment and you can make sure that you will really earn. Though bitcoin price is sometimes changing but I will always choose bitcoin because I already saw the very potential of bitcoin as a source of good income for us who wants an additional earnings aside from the work we do at corporate job.

For me bitcoin is the best to invest in. As you can see in the past events even though bitcoin drops price it always recover and exceeds it's last price. You can also check the graphs of the bitcoin in https://coinmarketcap.com/ you can veiw their the change (24h) also the graphs for (7d).

You can easily earned through investing to bitcoin because from time to time the bitcoins price is increasing and increasing, but you can also earn in altcoins but you need to make sure you've studied the coin really well.

At these prices hard to invest for me, i would chose Ethereum but i'll have to go with a cheaper Altcoin, i've bought some Deeponion recently.  Very happy so far.

I like promising low cap coins/tokens so my vote is for altcoins. But as we can see BTC or BCH could be very good investment as of now. FYI closer to Christmas many investors will start to take profit so there could be dump.

If this is for beginners only, then I would say go with Bitcoin at first. Then once you have acquired some knowledge and expertise, you'll be more able to see the pros and cons of individual altcoins and be able to make your own choices amongst them.

For me the best choice would be Bitcoin because it has the biggest community, enthusiasts, adopters, merchants and countries accepting as payment system. I prefer to this coin Bitcoin, Bitcoincash and Ethereum. That's the best currency to invest in moreover that good for long term investment. Do not worry  about the coin because it is a very popular coin in some investors, promising and profitable short term and long term.

I would love to invest in altcoin because I feel this is a potential market to make a profit for me. It shouldn't be only one or the other. One of the most valuable things I learned investing in cryptocurrencies is to diversify holdings and develop a portfolio rather than going all in on one coin. Start doing significant research. The more diversified, the better, but always hold some bitcoin -- never go full shitcoin. Also, try to start recognizing the market cycles: alts go through "seasons." During alt seasons, everything pumps. During BTC season, 90-100% of alts dump. This is the sort of baseline analysis to consider when rebalancing your portfolio.

When you go all in on one coin, you often develop a "chasing" mentality. You see other markets moving, but your position is stagnant or bleeding. So you liquidate and buy another coin. But it turns out you bought the top, and now you've instantly lost half your money. This is what it means to be a "chaser."

It's better to buy dips and hold dip buys in your portfolio rather than to chase pumps. That much, I can tell you. :)

I didn't like bitcoin cash before, but now it seems pretty good investment for me. I'd like to invest if the price dumps to 900-1000$.

if i have a chance i will invest in bitcoin and ethereum because the have the great influences on the crypto market and also their high price, i choose to invest in both because i think this is a safer way to invest in virtual coins, i will never know when will bad things happen to this market, so i wont invest in just one coin due to its high risks have it all or lost it all. i will choose investing wisely rather than just in coin.

I think i would go for litecoin. Just because their team is very good and they are really working on it. Also litecoin is a good old coin which is a trusted and a safe coin.

It has also good support and is currently heading to 70 dollars. I think that it will hit 100 dollars.

With CME's future around the corner, I would only go for Bitcoin. Rocketing potential never has been so high ! Altcoins will sink a lot another time I guess so I would basically avoid them all if I were you.

Almost all that have you mentioned above are perfectly good for high return on investment. But some time you will need to research on your own before you make your investment decision so that no one will be held  responsible for your action and inaction. What I do in most cases is to keep holding my Bitcoin and convert some of them to altcoins pending when they appreciate then I will convert it back to Bitcoin since Bitcoin is my major coin.

I will have to agree with you on this. I personally do not really like holding some alts for so long and the few I hold for long are mostly profits from first trade. Altcoins have always been good for short term and mostly in trading them. All the above, looking at the level at which bitcoin is moving fast and the adoption is increasing daily, then the chances for its growth is quite huge and for long term, most definite one to always consider.

Of course, I could be wrong, but it seems to me that Ethereum will overtake bitcoin in the long term. And I think that Ethereum needs to keep at least 30% of the portfolio.

While Altcoins can give nice returns, most people would have been better off sticking with the big ones this year.  Alts also get manipulated like crazy, much riskier game.
