Every decentralized system will be better in terms of security than any given centralized analog.
Of course, in general. Each case must be researched separately.

Platform and trading security, I'd say both will be great and will have it's pros and cons, whereas in terms of privacy, I'd choose decentralized exchanges since it will not need any man in the middle whenever a transaction is made and just facilitate the trade. After that it would be a done deal and both parties will have their loot and the decentralized exchange would profit from the fees.

Both Centralized Exchanges and  Decentralized Exchanges have their pros and cons but if you will be trading large amounts of money i think you are better off with a Centralized Exchanges so that if anything goes wrong you could have someone look into your problem but a Decentralized Exchange like etherdelta is equally good only bad thing it's built for eth and ether tokens...probably the reason we have a few of such exchanges.

Decentralized more secured, but very limited coins available.

obviously the decentralized exchanges!

of course it depend on how the decentralized one is designed and how you use it but when we talk about decentralized exchanges it means you are going to be in control of your cryptocurrencies and remain like that during your trade. this means there is no account to block, there is no one to run away with your money and no way to get scammed.

but in centralized exchanges, you give up control over your money and the service owners become the owner and controlled of your money. they can block your account, rob you, run away and there would be nothing you can do about it.
