The letter is dated 30th May, does this explain the series of dumps started on 31st May?

it would make me nervous if I was holding any coins. It makes me hopeful for nice continuation of bubble deflation. Most likely nothing will happen.

Bitcoiners create their own FUD, even no need to spread it.

What a clusterfuck!

Yawn, wake me up when something interesting happens.

Most pointless and misguided cease and desist letter ever.

Good catch about the date, makes me wonder why it is just now getting out.

Considering the date on this and the fact that we're still sitting at > $100 == me still bullish.

At what point will you stop being bullish?

Yeah.

Look at the big picture, folks. If China's official communist channel aired a special on bitcoin, and that didn't do much to boost price (although it did bring a bunch of nodes online), well, one wimpy little state in America issuing a legally misguided cease-and-desist order on non-existent grounds..... Is it really anything other than an annoying distraction?

Let's just say, we can tell who the n00bs are by looking at who posts in this thread "dump dump dump, price going doooowwwwnn1!! this is totally significant news that will affect price! 8)"

Solution:

Offshore corporation, offshore bank account, anonymous debit cards.

I have a great deal of experience with this stuff as well as establishing USA based corporations.

My $.02.

:)

Yup, it's the end. Bitcoin will be worthless in 24 hours.

Seriously, what are you thinking when you type something like that? Actually, do you think at all or just type something random?

The price went down soon after this was posted > indicates selling
Reaction to this ... possible
Coincidence ... possible
Attempted manipulation ... possible

EDIT : I posted about the date immediately it was put on the wall observer thread ...

It looks like the market does not care about the mishap of Bitcoin Foundation.
Price has been stable and steadily rising!

No, but perhaps they are trying to argue they facilitate it by being involved with Bitcoin software or something?

Fairly to say, that USA government  will makes every effort to protecting its  U.S dollar's overload status, therefore by attack to anything that may threatening to it.

This document should have zero negative effect on the price of Bitcoin. Really, it strikes me as an ignorant and misguided warning. Bitcoin Foundation does not deal with Bitcoin in terms of transmission (buy/sell or otherwise trade).

As for me, I will be bullish until the price hits above $1000. If I am wrong, then it means it goes to zero. But I suspect Bitcoin has a lot of forward movement and will become mainstream. At that point, it's a simple division problem: Size of Bitcoin Economy divided by 20 million or so Bitcoins.

How did almost any news on bitcoin all of a sudden become the end of it? It's like every day there is some new "end of bitcoin?" post and its getting ridiculous. OMG I found a rock in my shoe, is this the end of bitcoin!?

We should start to ease off on all of that for our own health and let the dust settle on these stories before jumping to conclusions.
