Title: Mining Software for Ubuntu?
Post by: architectonik on November 17, 2017, 12:38:40 PM
What mining software do you use for altcoins?

I currently understand ( and please correct me if i am wrong) CGMiner is for BTC, Nicehash if you have windows and easyminer...well easyminer gives me an error after i unpackage and install with Wine.

Any ubuntu miners on here?

Thanks

Thank you so much!

Do you know if either one of them is geared to mine Electroneum?

You can check out BFGMiner

It is more or less the same as CGMiner.

The only major difference is that it doesn’t focus on GPUs like CGMiner but instead it is designed specifically for ASICs.

Some unique features of BFGMiner include: mining with free mesa/LLVM OpenCL, ADL device reordering by PCI bus ID, integrated overclocking and fan control.

Electroneum is a Cryptonight algo, any miner supporting this will opt to work.

I use Claymore mining XMR as its simplest for me.

As i've install my Ubuntu in my laptop, I found some softwares that will help you in mining.

Here are some softwares that will found in this forum:

Claymore - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.0

EWBF - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1707546.0

SGminer - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=632503.2300

Here are the softwares that you will download in google and other software engines.

CGMiner is arguably the most famous and commonly used among Bitcoin miners at the moment.

BFGMiner is more or less the same as CGMiner. The only major difference is that it doesn’t focus on GPUs like CGMiner but instead it is designed specifically for ASICs.

EasyMiner is a GUI based software and it acts as a convenient wrapper for CGMiner and BFGMiner software.

As a general rule (I don't know of ANY exceptions offhand), if a mining program states it has LINUX support, it will support Ubuntu (and the derivatives like XUbuntu).
