Title: Whats so special about IOTA?
Post by: chiggz on November 17, 2017, 08:16:23 PM
I am a bit late to this altcoin train. But heard a lot about IOTA, NEO etc having great potential. Whats so special about these coins? And which one would be a better option for long tern holding?

IOTA has a unique idea. NEO is similar to other projects. But what sets them apart are the hype and money that makes up their market.

I would probably have kept coins that have their own blockchain and on which basis you can make cool projects

Seems to be one hell of a technology afaik.
I'm also looking at hashgraph .. very promising.. both are DAG so that might be the future.

Are they launching a coin to exchanges? It looks like they're not holding ICO.

XRB, Raiblocks is IOTA before IOTA was a thing.  The zero fee transactions are appealing and I think in time it will take off.  It still has yet to be added to a major exchange and when it does watch out.  The price is very cheap.

You are never too late to the train if it is still boarding (which I think it still is). IOTA is trying to accomplish a network with zero fees for transferring and their big draw is the DAG. NEO is similar to what ETH has accomplished

as a platform look for them to challenge Ethereum in the near future. I cannot say which is better for long term holding though you should look into both and see which one you like best because both have massive potential

if they reach their goals.

In my opinion if IOTA's team does their project right they actually have a lot more potential than NEO. They offer free transactions and that is something that is rare to see in a time where bitcoin transactions are easily charging $5 or more.

Also, they may be implementing smart contracts and anonymous transactions in the future.

All of this means potential, but they have to get it right first.

There is a lot of potential for crypto technology in emerging paradigm of the 'internet of things'.

These things will need to communicate securely, store and manipulate data, and other things.  The network should be reliable and adaptable in case parts of the network go down.

The problem with Ethereum is that it just costs too much.  IOTA wants to offer a scalable and super cheap service providing decentralized communication and storage.

Not yet, i think they might do this on a later stage.. i'm keeping an eye on it :)
