Let me ask you about what should I learn to know the future of altcoin. I heard some term like algorithm, dev and other. What factor which are make altcoin used by more people, i.e for trading, payment processor or others? For example, in my community most of people use dogecoin due to low fee. Any other factor than fee?
And....if new coin announced, how to see that coin maybe promising or not?

There are many factors regarding utility. One of them is privacy. Another could be mining or efficiency. Even consensus. And then you have the platforms and the utility behind them, which could also be used as currency. But you never know which one will stand out.

What do you mean about privacy? I'm really newbie and don't know about the concept. I only use altcoin, so I only know about wallet and how to send/receive coin.

for me, i use alt cause the fee is much cheaper and transaction more faster but the main reason is cause the price, you know buy it while its cheap once alt have same price like bitcoin and the bitcoin himself even higher i cant buy anything at that time

in my opinion, a good altcoin is an altcoin who already had a working product, not a prototype and has a real-life use and clear and achievable roadmap and a huge community will define a successful project.

Actually there are no one in the world can see the future of alternative coins, we just can make analysis fundamental or technical to prediction about it and it is not 100% accurate, in my personal opinions to know the future of alternative coins, i must know the fundamental of aspects are like, the developers of the alternative coins, the innovations, updating in the alternative coins and the community of alternative coins ( the miners, investors and the traders).

I first look at explanations about token because some projects just create token to raise money, token should be the most important thing for project.

there a many factors which determine the value of an altcoins like faster transactions, lower fees and most importnat potential use of the coin. algorithms are for coins and the difference between coin and token is that coin have its own blockchain and token build on anyother blockchain like bitcoin's blockchain or ethereum's blockcahin.

This has to do your own understanding of what a good tech is, it might help when you're educated more so when you have a degree in computer science and experience running a business, or just an experience coder or has been crypto/tech space for quite sometime. Then you might have informed judgement over the project.

In the future altcoins will be same as investment instruments today. I'm exatly sure that tokens erc-20 will be changes in technical plan.

no one knows the future of altcoin, but everyone has their own analysis of altcoin. I think a coin must have a purpose for what the coin is made. not originating.

Dont consider the price only. Price just a factor.

You have to see the concept , white paper, whats the back team qualifications and head experiences, roaf map

First you have to check that what is the purpose of creating the coin and what are the projects and how much are they promising , let the price be drop in starting but when the projects are on live then you can see how much the coin will flourish up.

I am not so sure you know what the term Altcoin means.
Having Altcoins means that you have crypto coins that are not Bitcoin. Ethereum is one of those coins.

The things you mentioned like algorithm and developer are good measures but they may not be enough to really asses an ICO. You also need to look at the ICO's team, transparency, whitepaper, and real world use. You have to make sure all of those previously mentioned match and check out. But even then, a well planned ICO can have all of those covered. You can even go further and ask for a contact number or physical address.

altcoin is dump for bitcoin, you have to see past and present position of altcoin, then you can understand future of altcoin. so you can research which altcoin are better for future.

If you glance around this forum and research the coin that you want to invest in you will find that there will be information on newer coins that can help fill your collection.

Today, the only thing that can be determined that an Altcoin has the future is when the value is rising and not dropping.

I always advise people (just didi no another thread too) to invest into coins which already exits. For them we have chance to be sure the our investment can be grown periodically once they develop their projects according to the roadmap they have. YEs, the roadmap should be fixed into our minds because we must cross verify that they are developing the project according to timeline. This makes sure that investors keep up the pace of investing and once the product is finalised it could lead to global investment and increased value for the utility coin. The study should be kept same throughout the projects and remember time is big player in the crypto currencies. It pays you.

I think in whitepaper every project has been explained and I like to read it. This is an easy and very effective way, so we'll know which projects are good or not. The main factor is as a payment processor, if many people use it, then the asset value will increase, because many people will be interested and buy it, this is good for the future.

There are no exact way to know the future of any altcoins. What we can do is to make predictions on its future based on its existing performance in the market. In my opinion, no altcoins will last forever, its only a matter of which last the longest. Altcoins future depends on its status today, its trading, its investment, and its value. Also if more people will use the altcoin, chances are it will last longer in the circulation. Also there are many altcoins out there that are actually the same in purpose, so altcoins that are unique in its purpose and development are usually has a greater potential in the future..

Well marketing can make almost anything popular. But maybe another important thing with altcoins is mining profitability. the more miners like an altcoin > bigger community > more popular coin.

For me a good altcoin have good developers,product ready,cheap transaction rate,a clear roadmap or long term plans.

It could be tricky! I mean the altocinb are as volatile currency as the bitcoin itself. What you can do is you can create the investment portfolio from the different coins and try to wait for them to pop up naturally. Never invest into the coins which are artificially pumped because they can’t be trusted for the long term investment and may make you loose your money.


Yes, you can always read about the development updates as everyone here is suggesting about that because that can lead to increased investment into the coins and hence pumping them naturally. I would always invest into coin which is having lots of discussion going on in the forum. This place talk the truth about the coins so I can be sure I’m putting my money into right direction. :-)

absolutly agree, but some user experience when use that alt can be so much meaning. i mean if user have good experience they can share that to other user and that alt become mainstream people adapt to it

- Something like beta platform to show investors during ICO
- Real life use case or should solve existing problem with crypto
- Other than this hype, huge marketing campaign can also pump the price of coin temporarily after listing.

These are very dark times for altcoins due to Bitcoin show. I think some coins will show a pump trend again in the future. It's been a while since we saw some real rise trend for altcoins anyway. Also, big investors will want to increase their btc. In order to do so, they need to bring some pumps into altcoin market again.

One of the key important features of good alt is decentralization.

Maybe thats why XRP is going down non-stop - because it is developed for banks (wich are classically centralized as hell).

Yes, you are right. Investment on altcoins is risky with high payback. And I think it is a good investors to hold some btc or ETH as long term investment since the future is bright.

Any investment is risky, and in the cryptoworld risks usually come at a larger scale because it involves money and time. Hodling on some Bitcoin is definitely a wise choice. But i would suggest a few good altcoins too like Ethereum, Ripple and Stellar, these coins give good profit from time to time.

Some Altcoins really do have a huge potential in the long run but considering the number of fishes presently in the Altcoin Ocean, some are really not going to see the light of the day later on. Competing with bitcoin though, is just one very long dream for any Alt at the moment or even in future, they still have a long way to go competing with themselves and only those with a solid team and some relevant product to keep the coin going will end up being in the market, while a lot of them on the top 100 right now will even still get pushed down further.

Now this depends on which altcoin you are talking about it. For example, ethereum, ripple, nem, etc. altcoins I think they will be in existence in the future. They have a bright future! But altcoin is a irritating term in my opinion, not every project is an alternative to the prime cryptocurrency Bitcoin. When I first invested on altcoin -RISE.. I thoroughly check its background.. what's the pro's and cons..just like what you said as well.. But The only thing that urges me to invest because I can see that they have a unique platform and its Dpos as well . i think that they have a great future ahead! bitcoin is too overbought and this seems to be right time to buy cheap coins. I'm even planning on buying in the ico of Amor (amorcoin.org) which starts this weekend.

There are a lot of things on which future price of any alternate coin depends upon. So many things take place in the background which also includes whale manipulation. But largely it depends on its concept and the development behind it. Look for coins that have good fundamentals and hard working developers.

At the moment there are more than 1300 coins, this is a huge number, a huge part of them is rubbish, which is not backed up and will soon die out. Now a large number of airdrops, what is this even ???? Remain those who really have a bright idea, a strong team, good partners or already working product! Probably most importan things is usefulness of the coin. If a coin brings something uniqe to market it will get attention and be popular. Crypto community is very experienced and smart now so they can see the true potential of coins and make their investments accordingly.

I have never thought of bitcoin going mainstream and altcoins to be the supportive system. All that I used to think of is the growth and the potential it has got to get implemented in various requirements. As the technology is getting used over different needs surely it'll last longer. When there is no competence the growth will not get exposed. Altcoins do the role of giving competence through the real time usage.

I think many of us think the same at some point,in the new generations, technology and telecommunications are given a high priority, which is why more efficient exchange instruments are needed,although sometimes everything seems to go too fast,I do not know if in the end it's good or bad,but for what is perceived in this moment the altcoins are having a considerable boom,since some offer certain differences to certain problems or limitations that arise so that everything seems to indicate that some of them do have a promising future.

I think in the short term everything is possible. high altcoin price increases and the number of existing communities, making altcoin create a separate market. But in the long run it all depends on what will happen to Bitcoin. Can the altcoin community survive and compete with its predecessor like bitcoin ethereum etc?
In my opinion in the future we only have one crypto that can survive, if Bitcoin can solve the problem like the high transaction fee you mentioned, then it will be a cryptocurrency. Otherwise we should wait for another cryptocurrecncy that will replace Bitcoin.
We must also consider another important issue that is the government's decision. In the future after receiving bitcoin around the world, in some bitcoin countries have been closed because the value of their currency lost with bitcoin, meaning it is a threat to the government. We have to wait for their decision whether they want bitcoin to be the main cryptocurrency or not

I would say watch the dev team,if the same guys are poping off on new coin every time i would stay away from it.Also reading white papper and thinking is that even posible or have any use for that coin

Many altcoin have great future coming, many altcoin will be used by million of people in all the world for their normal life, but even how it grow up, altcoin will never can beat bitcoin.

As like bitcoin ,Altcoin also have it's own power. Take Ethereum, it also survive as like a bitcoin. The price of Ethereum may low now,but has strong root.So it will not quite at all.Some altcoin will survive only for Short time,but Ethereum is the trusted altcoin as compared to other.

there are many altcoins that have the technology and ideas that they adopt as the basis of the utility. this is how you rate a project and try to investigate it. there are many altcoins that have no future or technology. I think everyone should try to look ahead, if the coin has a long concept. then I would be more interested to observe it and invest.

every coin in the market have a potential the thing is how would you may choose for what would be the best coin that you may think have the great future so it is hard to know right but you may actually know the worth of every coin if you may read for what are the best for. i mean by researching and having the knowledge of this coin before you have decide to choose it.

Most of altcoin will fail and dump hard in my opinion...because most startup will fail and only a few will survive. So you need to do a lot of research and have a lot of luck too and HODL

Look for the project with real world application which can offer something good and useful for a big community of people. Check for example PayPie and Viberate, they certainly look like good and useful projects and the fact that they are now traded for higher then ICO price is an indicator of success.

I do buy into an altcoins that is well published and many investors especially the big one buying into it idea and also invest in it! If a company has no fund to make good publications it means the developer may like the potential to drive the projects. I have bought into some coins by how there are published here without even read the white paper.

I am not sure someone can get any algorithm to predict the future of crypto. The future of crypto is unpredictable.

If you wanna know an approximate effectiveness level of any new coin, you should learn the team, their whitepaper and their product if available. There are lots of scams nowadays, so you should be enough attentive. Even if the project is not scam, it may appear to be not effective.

The future of any altcoin is unpredictable...

If the developers are active then that would be one factor that the coin is still alive. If they are always looking for ways to improve their projects and follow their roadmap then that is good news because it means they are doing their work. An altcoin that has real usage are the ones that are most probably has a future because people will keep using it so there is demand. Example of these are ethereum and litecoin. There are some altcoin has a good future but much more altcoin are only exist for few months or years, there are no altcoin will be like bitcoin wich exist for long period of time specially if that coins has no successful project and more investors not stick in only one coin if they got good income from it they leave and find another coin that is why i do not think how to know the future of altcoin.

The current Altcoin will grow rapidly in accordance with the business plan that has been sold, we can see based on the roadmap of each altcoin, in the roadmap described the development of each business, what will be done in certain months in cooperation with the big exchange , develop their business sector, develop applications, etc.

How we can consider the future of Altcoin I don't know but the altcoins are healthier to the cryptocurrency where all altcoins will compete each other in aspects of its performance in all criteria brings benefit to its investors so Altcoins will be play big role in future as cryptocurrency is the future currency anticipate in the world financial system.

Watching and observing the price graph chart of an Altcoin is the most important and effective way to determine it's future but not accurate though we need to consider also some aspects of the entire project as well. But seeing the graph chart that is increasing over time will give you a good criteria whether to invest or not.

The price graph chart could determine the potential of an Altcoin but it's not actually reliable most of the time because some Altcoin companies have different strategies on how to play the market well. Some are highly valued market cap like ripple but it has low price in dollar but ripple is at the top Altcoin currently.

Indeed, although we cannot see the progress of the development but knowing that the price is increasing every week or even every day and secondly the community itself are increasing therefore that project is promising ad more effective.
I know all investors do want to know if the project is good and has the potential to be the next Bitcoin or Ethereum before they put their money into investing the future.

Predict future of altcoin? For me, there's no way lol. Altcoins are born and die unexpectedly. But looking on project as well as developer of alts sometimes also help when it comes to choosing which altcoin has a chance to exist and build stability in long run.

I agree, Altcoins or Cryptocurrency's future is a bit difficult to predict but we can do some speculations and observations through some fields of an Altcoin like price graph charts, developers' credibility and reputations, management team.
This is just like a gamble because not all Cryptocurrencies will go forth to the top and some of them will die and vanish.

altcoin's future should be a practical application of existence. If there is no practical application, any altcoin has no investment value and should be sold immediately! We should be careful when choosing altcoin investments.
