southerngentuk makes a good point that people are unlikely to send you BTC with no assurance or evidence you can even get the hardware to begin with.

A group buy in Aus would be great though it cost me 1 BTC in shipping alone to get some from the USA. USA<->AUS postal services are ludicrously expensive.

Is this buy still on? Or are we waiting for the 10th to see what BTCGuild are doing?

Yes, will update info for blades on Thursday. I don't know pricing yet.

I don't think there's easily-available 10 port hubs with enough power at reasonable prices. You need about 550mA per device I think. Would love to hear of anyone's experiences.

Annoyingly, the readily-available Belkin 7 port hub doesn't list its power output anywhere, either online or on the (sealed) packaging in stores.

These are starting to look a little expensive with oversea's vendors selling  @ 0.32 and other aussies suppliers looking at local stock with 0.4.

Im looking at ordering some more but im wondering if its worth it atm.

Making ROI with these things is tough, but I'm doing it as a hobby.

Some info on ROI / break even from my existing two BEs.

Each is currently pumping out 0.00367018 BTC per day at ozcoin pool using POT (pay on target) which is only slightly below what DGM would pay out.

At 0.17 BTC each, it would take you 46 days to make back that investment. This disregards power consumption and future increases in diff, which will probably +10-30% per every 2016 blocks for the foreseeable future.

So I think that these will probably pay for themselves within 3-4 months at current prices. That is pretty good I suppose...

Heh, I know Leo is a reliable guy so I'd ... almost ... consider wasting 4BTC on a blade to get one to try adding it to cgminer and help with support.
(Pity AM are too greedy to consider that ... I gotta love paying money ... to DO support and help AM make money :P)

At 20% diff change each diff, if you got one today, it would make ~3.25BTC in 100 days (and 4.08BTC in 300 days)

Yeah, @4BTC the blade pricing is totally out of the question, which is a pity, there is nothing wrong with the product, it just can't make ROI.

Recieved my block eruptor USB yesterday. Fun to play around with and arrived in amazingly good packaging.

I got a PM from julz yesterday who has taken over from dadj saying the Block Erupters are back in stock. They seem to have gone up slightly to 0.175BTC.

^ Still pretty cheap. I'm awaiting an email from him now regarding postage.

I have only 4 or 5 USBs left depending on what payments I receive today and I'm hoping to have more USB Block Erupters (and Blades) at the end of the week.
Price is still 0.175BTC ea at the moment - but from the next batch I will be able to honour coupons for reduced price for those who bought earlier at higher rates from Leo (I still need to confirm details)

Currently I have about 6 Gen-2 10.7GH Blades available at 3.9BTC each.   
Blades arrived from China without green power plug but I just nipped up to Jaycar and am throwing one in each box. (They were $3.90 ea.. I'm sure they can be sourced more cheaply - but I felt it best to help people get set up quickly)
(I don't ship those plugs for people ordering 10 blades - as a 10 blade order gets a power backplane thrown in)

I ship by express post with signature required - (optionally with insurance for loss/damage) and will quote that when given a shipping address.

Sorry to those who missed out on the current batch.  As these are time-sensitive - I really have to go with allocating these in payment order - which currently means payment by BTC.

Stock is 6 gen-2 blades of which 5 are 'tentatively' allocated.  I'll ship this afternoon if I get payment in the next hour or so.

Expecting another 100 USBs + 30 Blades either late this week or early next.

Orders of 10 Blades get a power-backplane at no additional cost aside from possible increase in shipping price due to size/weight

edit: I probably shouldn't refer to them as 'gen 2' - as I assume the chips are the same as the old blades. These are the 'new blades'.

Hopefully my payment came in quick enough!

Also if anyone would like to overclock the sticks im happy to modify them for a small fee.

Jaycar have a powered 10 port hub, it's only 3A though, anyone know of something better without having to import?

I'm currently running 7 through the Dick Smith 13 port hub. and the 4A power seems to be going fine. The ports on it are too close together to fill all the slots, so you can only fit 3 each side without using extension cables.

I don't yet know my landed costs for the next batch of USBs - but at this stage I anticipate selling at 0.16BTC each for new orders & 0.145 for people who have previously bought from me or Leo.
I expect to be able to start shipping these on Monday or Tuesday.

Please supply at least your suburb/postcode when enquiring and I'll quote for shipping & handling (express post with signature required on delivery).
