Hi guys, I just recently got interested in crypto currency and I'm hoping to get some opinions on which Altcoins between $0-10 that I should invest in. I see a lot of news related to NEO recently and I really want to invest in it, but with the price being so high right now ($43), I would get only 23-24 coins so I want to invest my money in something that is cheaper and higher quantity that could potentially become 40-50 bucks in the next 5 years. Here's what I'm considering right now:
REQ - $.04
VTC - $4.35
OMG - $7.93
WAVES - $5.28
SYS - $.21
LINK - $.17

any thoughts are appreciated!

Before investing into anything, I strongly suggest you read some books about trading.

What most people don't realize is that it is not the price of the coin that matters, but its market cap and the number of the tokens.

For example, you have Ripple with a price per token of just $0.23, but the market cap is huge ($9bln because there are almost 39bln of them floating).

Therefore, it's much more likely that NEO will tripple next year, than Ripple going 50% up.

Except WAVES and OMG, I don't know the rest. For both, I can say good thing because I hold some too. But holding them for 5 year is just amazing if you can do this dude. If you're that patient, you can find very promising tokens for long term investment.

May I know what your target is?

My opinion is to gain as much % as possible from my investment no matter the price of each coin.

For example : If I invest 1000$ each in BTC and VTC, if BTC increases 10% and VTC increases 9%. BTC gives me more profit than VTC.

GRS/Powr/VTC/IOTA are all good long-term hodls i believe. All these coins are on runs right now, so wait until they go down and buy into them. Don't buy ATH's everything comes down, just wait it out and buy the best prices, don't try to make a quick profit by buying high selling low.

@zensx. The best longterm investment you will find is AEON. Do you remember where Monero was in the exchanges 2 years ago? Yes it was under $10.00. Look where it is now and where it will be on 2018.

In case most you do not know, smooth is one of the lead developers of Monero, who is also the lead developer of Aeon. The project aims to be a lighter version of Monero and more developed for mainstream users.

In 2 years it will make a lot of people rich.

Hi, I don't have a target. I simply want to invest my money into a good product (driven by good tech and not hype) and hopefully a few years down the road the coins will be valued as much as litecoin or NEO today. I think this strategy will bring a higher return in the long run due to the higher number of coins I would get as compared to buying 10-20 of the more expensive ones.

Why not consider the mid-term (half-year - year)?

Would advise:
1. GRMD https://www.coinexchange.io/market/GRMD/BTC because a good price (about as on iso), a ready and interesting project in a niche is legal marijuana. Just look at the information on the site and the video presentation https://greenmed.io/
2. ATS https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/authorship/ because a very low price, a lot of offline investors, an interesting idea, the implementation of the project in a couple of months - six months.

If you want to make 100% by Dec. 1st and God knows what by the end of next year have a look at LIFE. They're listed on CE at the moment but they will be delisting themselves from their and moving to HitBTC and Cryptosaurus (I think). The min. price per token on HitBTC is 10 satoshis and it's now selling at about 5 satoshis on CE. I'm literally picking up as much as I can carry and I've managed to get some at 4, 3 and 2 satoshis. They're also part of the Ethereum Alliance.

You should read about their distribution model. No doubt the 100B supply is frightening before you learn about that.

They have a very active and growing community on Telegram, active community manager etc. I'm invested. But I'm not a financial investor and everyone should do their own research when they decide to invest or trade a crypto or anything with value.

If you want the altcoins price less than $10 then I would suggest IOTA, Waves, Golem/SONM, 0x. There are plenty of interesting project with low market cap. Also look for some coins that are not on popular exchanges yet.

Good luck on your investment for the next 5 years but i dont think that you will profit from any new coins that are coming out of the market, i think its still best for you to invest in the most stable coins that has been on the market for years.

Ripple,IOTA,Lisk,EOS,OmiseGO,XLM,waves these are my coins they have a lot of potential in the future they have good developers and long term plans.

lisk would be my only choice long term as of now.

This portfolio is like throwing away $900. In a few months you would be creating another post complaining about crypto. Its not about the quantity of the coins you hold, but the quality.

Start with GRC because it is mineable. Also, aside from a research allowance, there will be interest per year on your coins.

Iota, EOS and SIA.

Honestly the price of a coin does not matter as much as how much the market capitalization and the community of the coin is at. If the coin is dirt cheap but has a high market cap that is unlikely to go up further, then it probably won't. Ripple is an example of this.

Iota could really make an impact on the crypto market, once it breaks the $1 level.

Artificial Intelligence Coin is a transaction centric digital currency purely based on the Bitcoin software. However it allows one to immediately complete digital transactions. There is also no expensive proof-of-work effort here.

waves, eth, edg, taas and dent coin. this will have a good development. I see dent coin could have a value of 10x from now.

Try to invest some amount of money in some ICOs. Now is better to search one with not bad team and with low hardcap. One of them you can find in my signature. But not invest all in 1 place. Think twice.

I would recommend that you buy XRR. Since you are in for the long term you cannot go wrong with this coin. Solving a trillion dollar problem of the bank. Slowly adoption by the bank, through the time the returns would be great.
Something else. Keep buying every month. Put at the side some money just for this.Its worth it.

I whould recomment you to buy RPX (Red Pulse) is has quite low price now but has a huge pontetial to grow in the nearest future, and well as it's definitely a good investment for long term. Also I believe in MTH (Monetha) project. They have very initiative and experienced team and they post weekly updated with the status of their development.
AMB (Ambrosus) is another hiden treasure, but only as a very long HODL. Anyway I'm sure that this project will be well-known world wide one day!

From your list I believe in OMG, WAVES and SYS. Add into concideration Nem, Cindicator, maybe COMSA. There are a lot of different predictions and speculations about COMSA, so we should check it after listing at exchanges.

I really wish I had gotten into Crypto last month so I could've been part of the Confido ICO (1 ETH for 7200 tokens is insane!). That is an crazy amount of profit in like 2 weeks. oh well, hopefully something like it will come along again.

Why not the you are giving suggestion like Neo, XRP and all. Still these coins are best in showing the more supply and value growth in the chart.
So investing on these coins also will be best to go with 1000 USD investment. I am sure profit will be return to the hand in some months itself.
Investing on tokens and waiting for listing since that is good to give the big profit is simply waste of time.

There are no good cheap investments. I searched and spent so much time to find one but its impossible. But from your list I really love link and waves, these 2 coins are pretty much better.

You have missed the hottest coole cheap coin now. I think you should choose large coin stocks to make sure you are profitable in the long run. The amount of coin available on the market I think you should also care about.

For a 5 year portfolio you definitely need the "bigger" coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum, otherwise you're risking wayy too much, since many coins that exist today won't even be a thing 5 years from now (but btc and ethereum will, unless ALL cryptos crash hard).

Five years is a long enough period for projects to complete their product. If I were you I would invest in UTRUST, UAHPAY, Forty Seven Bank and NEO. Of course I will wait to invest in NEO at a reasonable price compared to the present. I am also investing in the Crystal Clear (CCT) project and currently its price is very good for you to invest

If you want to make long-term investment you should choose top-10 coins in same proportions. If you are interested in middle term investments try to checkout Verge, Zen, XEM.

what do people think about OTN tokens?

Ethereum and Bitcoin! Make those atleast 50% of your portfolio and then spend the other 50% on altcoins of your choice. You need to reevaluate your portfolio every few months, because many coins that exist today might be worthless in a few years.

I would suggest:

Metaverse ETP: really ambitious project aimed to build a decentralized platform with smart contracts, a digital identity and oracles intermediary. Market cap is still relatively low (100M $), if they can deliver all the features it will be big

Modum: swiss firm with a working product to ensure data integrity in the supply chain, big pharma partners, a token that pays dividend and a low market cap (35M $)

You just do not who will not say where to invest. No one knows what will happen to the market tomorrow!

I would suggest you definitely NOT to do this. In general the tips from Depradtion are ok, but at this time and as you being a newbie, I would stick to coins that have proven themselves in a way. ICO's carry a much higher risk, you maybe endup with 500$ or less within days after the ICO hits the exchanges. If you are truly interested in an ICO, do proper research and my suggestion would than be to wait for it to hit the exchanges, so you can most likely buy it cheaper than you could at the ICO.

Investing in Ethereum for a long time is going to make you more money than investing in any other coin because Ethereum has more people wanting to trade it for Bitcoin.

Waves is an investment that is pretty easy to do right now because the price is not that high yet. Give it a year.

It depends on the risks you are willing to take. I also invested a sum near this in Aeternity, I think if they can achieve what they propose there sure is a huge upside potential. Also its a longterm investment, because the mainnet will just launch in Q4 2018. I am confident about them, but the competition sure is there and the risk is high. Life is a gamble!

it looks like a legit platform. there is no guarantee with anything in crypto but lisk looks legit to me. its up more then $5 in the past two weeks. i actually sold all my alt coin because of the bitcoin pump but if i was to hold one long term it would be lisk.
