Title: ARG Scamcoin?
Post by: muddafudda on June 25, 2013, 05:34:54 AM
First the premine was lied about, then never handed out in the giveaway. 2 devs and webmasters an we have yet to see a single thing.

Is their actually anything in the pipeline for this coin??

What are you talking about?

It was stated in OP that some coins were mined for bounties/giveaways.

And here is the first giveaway thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=232346.0

Please so some searching

It was not originally and it doesn't answer the question as the giveaways were not paid

I addressed all your concerns.

If you still have questions, I suggest you PM the devs and stop wasting space on this forum.

whilst you are wrong about the giveaway threads, something about it never passed the smell test. just the same old ad nauseum stuff about how it was the future of cryptocurrency, which i disagree with. the future will be:

a different method of encryption that compresses the block chain.

a block chain stored in a cloud of community funded/enthusiast funded server nodes

a token based system that sends transaction info(blocks) to miners and qt clients as they make requests, sending back the token for the request     with a md5 checksum, thus preventing forks, double spending, and enabling:

banning of 51% attacks through smart screening of getwork requests.

now tell me which of these can't be accomplished because thats what i envision for nanotoken and will pay as many programmers and devs as it takes to accomplish this. just gotta get the money rolling in from my new job before i can start funding the work that will make that dream possible

What space? That's what a forums for dick. Still there was no mention in the original post for pre-mine as many people asked this question when they announced a give-away.

premined 200K - 20K giveaways? = 180K all dumped or will be dumped to whoever will buy it, lol. I am not buying for sure ;)

i'm pretty sure most of it was dumped on cryptsy from day one. hence the rapidly increasing sell prices then sudden plummet back to earth as trading ground to a stand still.

me 2. i was dumb enough to hold them on the belief there wouldn't be a dump. i could have sold my 50 and made a good chunk at .0080000. its looking like i will have to dump them as the coin has continued trending down since release. currently has a value of .00012000. still holding mine for a while before i give up on the coin. it seems like it could recover eventually

For What it's worth, AlphaC promised me a bounty for setting up the block explorer (http://arg.webboise.com/chain/Argentum) & I posted my address in the giveaway thread. Still haven't received a single coin aside from what I mined. I PM'd him about the bounty several days ago and restated that he'd send it but nothing came.

I mentioned it to Baritus and he said that AlphaC has just been busy and that he's send me the coins. We'll see, but so far it's pretty strange.

I'm still waiting for my 25 ARG from the giveaway.

this coin is a scam, the dev lied about the premine and didn't send the giveaway.

the worst part are the lies, I'm not trusting my coins/money on any ARG dev's services like a "bank".

ok, I get your point.
I already posted my address in the giveaway thread, it's in the dev's team to show their commitment to ther coin. I'm not going to "beg" for something that was supposed to be granted to all those who posted in the giveaway thread. Let's see how well is their "support" (I'm quite sure this will reflect their support on their coming "bank" service)

The dev did say 1 week min.

Try asking him again. The giveaway is still going on I think.

Alpha C: "This giveaway is canceled because it is impossible to weed through all the cheaters. Message me if you are a legitimate user with your account address for your ARG.

Thank you."

But since that has happened Baritus has taken lead of the project and AlphaC has given him all of the premined coins.

Giveaway
Alpha had not completed the giveaway and 20,000 ARG still remain. I have chosen, with the help of the community, to assign them based on Quantum Meruit, or to whoever deserves them. Therefore, 10k ARG are reserved for bounties; and the other 10k for any community members that show merit.

In other words the giveaway is over.

@bonsai99

Cut it out man! or should I say boy?

if what you state is true, about "Qualifying: Your forum account must be at least 1 week old and have more than 20 posts."

it should have been in big red font in the title of the ARG giveaway thread or in the first post. And Most giveaway post don't require that condition to qualify for the giveaway.

why didn't you start a thread to clarify/inform to all those people who did NOT receive their giveaway, the reason for not receiving their giveaway? that sure would have been a sign of great support. But instead of that you just mention it NOW, and in a attacking/insulting way. And let's not forget the fact that the ARG dev lied about the premine.

You are missing my point Bonsai99. I was referring to the premine mentioned in the original ARG announcement thread which can be found here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=231524.msg2436781#msg2436781

which by some strange (mischievous maybe?) reason, it was later edited. You can find no mention of the premine in the ARG announcement page NOW:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=231524.0

was* is your explanation for editing/hiding the fact that ARG has 200K premine?

you see, by this same behavior (editing the original post), I now doubt that the "Qualifying: Your forum account must be at least 1 week old and have more than 20 posts." in the giveaway post was there originally. It could very well be edited later just as they did with the premine.

You see, trust is essential in any business, at least that's the one thing that I look for when I meet any potential business partner.

EDIT: what*

was* is your explanation for editing/hiding the fact that ARG has 200K premine?

you see, by this same behavior (editing the original post), I now doubt that the "Qualifying: Your forum account must be at least 1 week old and have more than 20 posts." in the giveaway post was there originally. It could very well be edited later just as they did with the premine.

You see, trust is essential in any business, at least that's the one thing that I look for when I meet any potential business partner.

EDIT: what*

Ok I don't really care about how they removed the premine from the announcement after awhile, anyone who read into the coin even a little bit would know. But anyhow I know that "Qualifying: Your forum account must be at least 1 week old and have more than 20 posts." was there originally when I entered the giveaway, but when it comes to free coins no one reads anything or gives a shit they  just spam their addresses like Herppp Derpp g1m33333 1337 c0inzzz plawkzzZ?????
