This came out of a couple of discussion threads, but as many of us have had little luck attempting to order upgrades from Hotmine, I thought if we got enough people together to make a large enough order they might be able to ship to the US. Anyone else interested? I am happy to coordinate this, but since I really only want two X5s I am equally happy to let someone else do it if they have a larger order they want to place.  Post in here or PM me if you're interested and I can write them back and see how large an order we'd need!

UPDATE--it does seem that more than a couple of us have heard that 10 pieces is the minimum, so if we can get 7 more orders we should be good.

Also again, I am totally cool with a more senior board member being the one organizing the order if it makes everyone more comfortable. I don't care, I just want the upgrades. :)

(I also have several Ukrainian friends here in Portland; if we can't get a big enough order together, I could see if they know anyone who would be cool with picking up a smaller order and shipping it for us)

Hi, im from Kiev, and im thinking of getting my self one upgrade kit, and it is possible for me to pick up your order and send it to you, but you have to figure out a way to pay them and ofcourse youll have to trust me to pick up the kits for you ).

you are from Kiev ? You could visit their quarters to see how things are going, since they are not replying anymore

I suppose, you could take orders from all who are interested, and make shipment  - with our prepay of course

 

They replied to me last on Thursday. They are still replying, just slowly (it took about a week for them to get back to me, though they were quick to reply from my message through their website)...

And the new poster's offer is definitely an option but we'd have to figure out some form of escrow or other to ensure that neither he/she nor US buyers get screwed. The problem with escrow with these types of things is, well, figuring out how to do it, since he/she obviously needs the funds to pay hotmine. Not sure what the options are there, honestly, but there may be one.

Hi everyone! First time poster go figure it would be in the marketplace! Anyway I have been looking at these hotmine kits for a while and how to get my hands on one! If this group buy goes through i would like to participate to upgrade one of my s5 miners! Cheers

I cant give them a visit cause they dont tell me what is their addres. God know why.... All they have told me is that i can make a pre payment nad w8 for the kits, they are having next shippment in january, only then i can go to them for the pick up. so if you guys need some one to pick your i can do it.

Got an email back from them--their minimum to ship to the UK (possibly a typo? either way, assume the same) is 200 pieces. So yeah. I don't see us putting that together.

I'm not selling anything. Read the rest of the thread, it's neither a sale nor a scam, it was an attempt to pool resources (which, due to the most recent information, seems almost entirely improbable at this point anyway).

That still seems somewhat implausible without a farm buying a large number and then selling us extras.

Which actually isn't a terrible idea. Anyone know a farm that has a bunch of S5s that may want to upgrade?

I have understood that allinvain here at the forum would have a lot of S5s that he would like to upgrade.

I don't actually have a "lot" of S5s. I have maybe like 4 or 5 I think. It's been so long since they were hashing I nearly forgot about them. I do know for sure that I have 4 S3s.

So they want a 10 order minimum per person I presume?

I was going to look at getting 10, but they told me the min was 60 and the price was higher than what was on the site. The shipping could also be an issue, it was a bit difficult to understand the translation. Someone local would be useful to do the forward shipping as components rather then full miners.

See my review thread, I had mostly S1 parts for it and then a Beaglebone black  :)

It is still hashing great at 3.3 Th/s hash rate (the Hotmine X5 upgrade kit miner).

Yes, but you also need to purchase an S5 or aftermarket BB board, which costs around $50-100.

Doesn’t seem like it. I would’ve been interested in at least one kit if we had an actual organized group buy going but seems like Hotmine have changed their sales minimums, etc. 60 is now the minimum and prices have gone up probably because it’s now more profitable to mine.

The 10 minimum order is for the X6 full unit. When I asked about minimums for the upgrade kits, I was told 200.

I have tried to buy X6 since last summer, messages get through in this forum sometimes and e-mails are sometimes answered.

BUT I think chances are very slim that You get any miners with group buy or something.

Got some messages through now at December and I told that I can fly to Kiev and pick-up 2-3 kits and pay them and then buy more later after testing, I told also that I want to visit their office/factory.
Hotmine went silent after that so I think they don't have the product or at least don't want to sell them to anybody.

I'd pay a little extra to get my hands on an X6 Kit.

I tried to place an order for 10 units, but the conversation didn't go anywhere.

They won't respond to emails anymore, if they did I would do one. I was trying to buy 10 upgrade kits as I have +-15-20 S5 hardware kits.

please share how you ordered these and payment method

I have tried to make face to face deal for X6 kits in Kiev Ukraina about 6 months and It has not happened so think 2 or 3 times before sending large sums anywhere!
They seem to have a product but they don't sell them.

They have very limited production, so they must have issues on the availability at the moment.  :-\

Hope they ramp up the production like on Tesla Model 3  ;D
Can't wait to get hold on a bunch of upgrade kits  :) My R4 is now only hashing in half speed  :'(

The pre-order is apparently made by email; I haven't paid for anything yet.

I asked them for a 1 x Miner X6 1.1 KW, 7.2 Th/s- 1900 usd. They asked me if it would be local pickup (which is the case), and told me they would contact me to arrange payment beginning of February when the unit is available.

However, they also told me they had 60 of these X6 available when I first got in touch with them... I'm not totally convinced this is legit yet to be honest.

I'll post here if I ever hear back in February as they said, but this might just not happen...

Yeah, personally I'm done with them. Between the price hike, the ROI rate, and the complete lack of customer service, I'd rather just buy an S9 at this point

They had 89 available when I contacted them and did say they all shipping was local or they do local pickup. I do think they are legit, but are just focused on doing local business as it is easier. You can't really blame them for trying to keep thing simple for themselves.

I'll try ping them a couple more times and see what happens.

Yeah, no, wasn't meaning to imply they aren't legit, I'm just over trying to buy from them. :)

If its confirmed they work with the S3 , if so I would be interested in being part of a group order of at least 20 units
