Title: 1 GPU faster?
Post by: yeti666 on November 19, 2017, 09:40:28 AM
I have 3 GTX 1060 6 gb gpu's of the same brand on one rig.
But there is one of them that mines considerably faster than the other 2, although they are all overclocked the same way...
I don't understand why there is one almost 25% faster than the other 2?

You are in the wrong place, you should post this in the alt coin section to get help.

It can be because of different memory vendor and ASIC quality.

Silicon Lottery. Every chip is different.

Nothing strange there, every gpu is different.

No psychics here I'm afraid, you need to tell us what you're mining. If it's Ethereum (or any other Dagger coin) then this huge 25% difference could be due to the memory timings: one of your 1060s could have Samsung chips (with tighter timings) and the other two could have Hynix chips (with looser timings). Easy to check the memory brand by running GPU-Z. If it's not Ethereum though then it won't be as easy to account for the 25% difference.

Nothing strange in it, you cannot get same speed for every GPU even if it is of same configuration.

25% difference is pretty strange actually. :) The only explanation I came up with so far is that he's mining ETH and only one of his cards has Samsung memory chips.

I also got different brands with different memory but 25% for the same model
is not normal any more.
What are you mining? etash, equihash or something else?

An overclocked 1060 with Hynix chips could mine ETH @ 19.5 MH/s, while the same 1060 with Samsung chips could hash @ 24.5 MH/s. That's about 25% difference. But that's the only scenario I can think of. Neoscrypt difference would be a lot smaller, and with all the other algos he'd have 5% difference at most.
