       We are here just to announce that Ybcoin's client (Brief: YBC , Chinese Name: Yuan Bao) will be released on 0:00 June 29th, 2013 (GMT+8).

       Source code will be released at that date or very soon.

       Before the launch date, no client will be released, and no coin will be pre-mined. You can check this from /getinfo command in the wallet.

       Ybcoin is based on Yacoin's sourcecode, but coin output will be 1/10 of yacoin, other information please check our Chinese news release.

       Ybcoin's team will focus on China market, and serve China users. We are a strong and ambitious team, come from various internet companies, and have the resource and experience to operate it well.

       PS, Ybcoin has no relationship with yacoin team or CNC team.

yacoin is actually a pretty successful coin.  More profitable then LTC or BTC and it's got a key difference and competing in that it won't be gpu minable in about a month from now..  ybcoin, well, what's the benefit of this coin over yacoin?

PLEASE can you make the client & source available BEFORE the launch so that us linux users can at least have a chance of compiling it and working out any issues beforehand?

Not really correct, I'm not sure why people have continued repeating that assumption.  It was mtrlt's modified (and unreleased) Reaper kernel that had a problem with N >= 8192.  That's not the kernel everyone else is mining with and has no connection with hanzac's OpenCL kernel.

YAC is currently being mined by GPU. So it is not more botnet friendly than LTC is.

Yes, but on this dif better to use internal wallet miner and good internet connection.
After dif from 0.001 to 0.005 you can start use yac miner but don't forget to specify -s 1 or from 1 to 5.

I use CPU and never try GPU, I know it's possible but in compare to CPU not big advantages and lot of hardware settings and problems.

I think this made to hide significant premine. scheme ie simple:

1. release coin without source with client that allow big amount of coins during few first blocks.
2. after blockchain settle - add checkpoint and release sources without high reward for few first blocks.
3. ? ? ? ?

No is the answer to that.  Tried both the CPU and GPU miners and neither would give me accepted shares. 
With such an obvious premine and lack of developer information, I really can't see the point in this coin whatsoever.  I have deleted the client.

I have no idea why they publish sources only now, but if you thinking it’s premined we will see it right after someone release block explorer for it. I think it’s not premined but during launch they have problems with their sites.
I’m interesting about this coin and posts here because I mine YAC and YbCoin it’s a first YAC clone. If I see that they do progress, I will make post where combine all information about this coin in English.

You just have to change the chain start time timestamp for both programs to calculate the correct Nfactor and recompile.

The chain start time for YAC is 1367991200 and for YBC it must be 1372386273 .

Nothing else required for the CPU or the GPU miner to work. In fact with yaminer you can modify the opencl kernel, remove the bin files and start yaminer.

Well, there's no obvious pre-mine in the code anyway (such as larger early/genesis blocks), at least as far as i can tell. Haven't spent much time with PoS coins so I may have missed something.

Can't say much about any regular pre-mine though.

Thanks I think I'd rather mine YAC.  No offense OP but the delayed/badly informed launch just ruined this.  I found the link to the client before it was posted on here and started mining (about 10 minutes after launch time) and it was already at 1600+ blocks so it was premined by the devs.

I am not impressed by this coin.  As far as I can tell, this is a clone coin based off YAC.


Unless this coin introduces something new, I'm don't see the value in mining it.  Yacoin has an active developer (windmaster) and several other active programers on yacointalk.  Its a shame that people jump on the band wagon on these coins.  The price is high right now - but it will be interesting to watch it fall like CNC.

I cant get the miner on the ybc coinmine pl site to work. It crashes soon as it starts to mine. If I remove the stratum part it works but fails to connect to the pool. I dont see how the miner should even work since ybc uses scrypt-jane like yac does.
