Hared forks is happening on every token even on the altconin, such as lisk, neo, oxy, I dont know what they are used for, i think the forks is forced to happened based on the arising profit.

I think a hard fork does not always benefit your investment
Although a hard fork in Bitcoin makes free money but not necessarily a hard fork on other coins will produce the same thing

Hardforks in BTC are useless and being source of millions of dollars for the developers, investors do not benefit a lot but the hardforks in alts is new,i have not notice sit coins has this too.

I'm really excited for upcoming hard forks because I never hate hard forks since the beginning and I even bought 3 Bitcoin Cash last early October.

I still have some doubts about those "free" money. For example the amount of profit recieved with bitcoin gold fork could be successfully added to bitcoin or any other altcoins. So if you take a look from the other side thoce garbage BTC forks are just taking the potential benefit from the usefull coins, which might be pretty harmfull.

Unfortunately you are right, but so far it's give major boost to any hard fork coin and after fork free coins which you can sell almost immediately when you get them or can wait for better price (like for BCH or BTG). There is always someone who want to buy or sell such coins.

Hard forks only create free money if the community splits... most of hard forks are agreed on so the new one replaces the old one

Hard fork is only replacing old one in the old time... Nowadays, hard fork just another altcoin that creates free money~~

Good investment IMO. NXT will split with IGNIS airdrop, and IGNIS will be the first unrestricted child chain for ARDOR. They are all PoS coin , and this tech is very good, there is a reason why ethereum want to switch to that ;)

The constant hard forks I guess were inevitable but it's very irritating to the wider economy and slows down progress, these forks generally offer nothing except a quick cash-in. Still, if it means 'free' money then who am I to complain, the quality will always rise to the top.

can we please forget about hardforks? Can't you guys see that it's just a trend going on? Non of these forks is offering anything of value to the entire crypto network, they are all worth nothing. A while ago it was a big thing when BTC would fork, now we hear about a new version almost daily, and one is worsed than the other. One project increases block size, another the total supply, what the heck. The developers are just adjusting parameters and try to deliver the "new bitcoin". That simply won't happen and anyone who is investing in them is way too naive to be in that industry to start with. Start investing in value and value will eventually come to you. See the future potential and don't run behind short term profits, like forked versions.

Hard forks are not just a trend. Sorry to burst your bubble. Hardforks are done at any time anyone wants to split off the Bitcoin chain. There isn't just a fad to make hard forks, they could happen at anytime. The recent one being BCash and this is probably just the first makor one, as BTC grows it will always be under constant attacks like this... it is inevitable.

Do not be overeager ( sorry for the term ) but I think there would be considerably a big number of forks ( and remarkable part of them would be scam , especially when we know that this happened already) , and according to a post (that I read here in this forum) 2018 will be the year of massive forks ( predicting that they will replace ICOs ) .
It's good to prepare ourselves , but we should expect everything

The hardfork trend was starting by ethereum, But it's not just like bitcoin that generates the fork if the blockchain gets hardfork. This look silly to see the just like NXT give the free coin to the holders. Even ethereum already did hardfork for 5 times. The fork coin trend just like a plague in this time. How the developers try to take the advantage by generate the more free coin.

I agree that we really would need a place which is listing all hard forks scheduled with some advance.
