Title: PDU choices (switched) for Antminer S9's
Post by: VentMine on November 22, 2017, 03:16:31 AM
Hey friends,

I'm looking for options on PDU's that are switched (I can log in remotely and turn on/off the contacts) for Antminer S9's. The more miners I can fit on one PDU the better (for example, I can fit 9x S9's on my shelf, so one  PDU / shelf is ideal).

Any idea's / options for choice? I'm looking at Tripp Lite's website but am curious if you guys have experience and can direct me somewhere else.

Cheers

There are dozens of PDU manufacturers that make smart PDUs.

Tripp lite
Geist
APC
HP

etc

The list goes on.

Yeah I've been checking them out. I'm just curious about what others have been using for switched PDU's. What is cost effective, reliable etc.

It seems these things are really made for mining loads of 1500W - for example I don't need 36 receptacles when I can only run maybe 8 x S9's on a 14 kW PDU.

Yea almost all of my PDUs have way more receptacles than we need. It will be much harder to find smaller PDUs than just using the standard datacenter style with a ton of plugs.
