Title: [ANN][GUI WALLET Linux/Windows] Electroneum Multipools GUI Wallet (Unofifcial)
Post by: tperalta82 on November 22, 2017, 05:13:55 PM
Hey Everyone,
As I mentioned on our ETN Pool you can check on the following link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2433784.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2433784.0),
We are now proudly releasing the world's first Electroneum GUI Wallet for Linux and Windows

Everything is working so far, took me a week to put everything together so you may find bugs.

You can run antivirus checks, everything you want, this is no scam or anything like that.
Full code is on github here, you can audit it if you want to: https://github.com/tperalta82/electroneum-core (https://github.com/tperalta82/electroneum-core)

The releases are here https://github.com/tperalta82/electroneum-core/releases (https://github.com/tperalta82/electroneum-core/releases)

If you already have a wallet file just use it and it'll import everything.
If you have your mnemonic seed, you can also use it.

Offline wallets you just need to import them using the cli as before.

I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it
And of course, please support our pool and let's grow together.

Some people are having issues to sync with the official wallet as well, try this:
  • Open your command prompt on the electroneum-gui-wallet folder
  • run electroneumd --add-exclusive-node 96.58.18.99:26967
Wait for it to sync

If you want to, you can donate here:

BUG: Found a bug where it's not sending coins (it's just not sending coins, you're not losing anything ), trying to see what's wrong as this was previously tested

UPDATE: Wallet has been updated, please update as soon as possible

Nothing personal mate, but I'm going to give it a few days to see if there are prevalent issues or concerns

But I will say been waiting for a GUI for ETN, and the wallet looks great!

Nice job tperalta82

The wallet has a monero typo (just a text that skipped my attention) in it, doesn't affect anything, will fix it soon enough x)

Hello. Will it work on RPI3? I'm a Linux and crypto newbie, but I'd like to support ETN by running a full node on RPI3. Please, could you create this full node wallet with installation instructions for Raspbian RPI3? I believe it will be used by many users.

Thank you very much

I don't have an RPI but you wouldn't need a GUI for that one I'd say, and it would consume a lot of resources, I can look on building the CLI version , is that okay?

Which raspbian version are you running?

Yes, I no need GUI, i just want let my RPi3 runnin full node 24/7. It is Raspbian Stretch with PIXEL / 07.09.2017 - latest version. I do not wanna waste your time. If it works and it will be simple to do, I will make sure it gets to a lot of people. Thank you again

That should not be a problem, but why would you want to run a node? this coin is not masternode/proof of stake

I tested with my personal wallet, works fine so far.

If you want to, create a new wallet with like 3/4 ETN and try transfers x) that way it's safer , but you'll see it works

I would like to support the Electroneum network. I cant mine because of price of electricity. The more nodes the better. Or am i wrong?

My wallet is out of sync with network. Please help me with active nodes. I cannot find them in the OP. Thank you for your help.

They should not be necessary, as it is using the official binary from electroneum to sync the blockchain.

Anyway, I am setting up a node, when it's synced i'll post here how to use it

EDIT: Open your command line on the gui wallet folder, and run electroneumd --add-exclusive-node 96.58.18.99:26967 and wait for it to sync

Hey everyone, the hard drive where I had my windows build environment decided to die, i was not able to push the windows release with the bugfix.

It is fixed, tested, and working on linux.
I'll take some time, a day or so to rebuild the windows wallet because of this.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

I am little confused here ,is this really working ? How to send the coins from paper wallet to this wallet if it's really working ?

BTW still I see below message

The windows version, like I mentioned, has a bug, I have already fixed it but haven't deployed it yet.
And yes the wallet works properly as it uses Electroneum Official Wallet Daemon as a backend.
As for the message you got , that is pretty normal, this is not an official GUI Wallet, but a 3rd party made by me.

How do i import from my paper wallet, cli method looks complicated to me...

Unfortunately the GUI wallet doesn't import from paper wallet yet, maybe in the future i'll implement it.

As for the CLI it's quite easy actually, considering you are a Windows user , try to follow this steps:

1) Download Official electroneum wallet (or mine , both have the official cli and software included)
2) Unzip it to a folder on your desktop
3) Start -> Run -> cmd
3) cd Desktop/electroneum (or the folder where you've put it in)
4) electroneum-wallet-cli --generate-from-keys WalletName
5) When asked if you want to save the file, say yes.
5) Enter the requested keys that are on your paper wallet
6) Enter a password that you won't forget (although you will be able to recover the wallet later with the paper wallet)

Save all the contents to a notepad or a text file and encrypt it and/or save it in a safe location..

Then open the GUI Wallet, select the language, then select the final option and open the Wallet you generated with it, and let it sync, it can take hours.

Hope this helps

Thank you for clear instructions.

But when i check the balance in cli wallet, there is nothing and also when i enter the command to view secret and public keys, they are different from those entered.
And also when i open gui wallet, after importing the keys file, it doesn`t look like it is synchronizing.

Looking in the gui wallet, under show seed & keys, just the secret view key is correct, and i entered the correct informations in cli wallet.

can you post a screenshot of the gui wallet?

I'd suggest you to run electroneumd.exe and let it run until it's fully synced and open the GUI wallet afterwards

Now let's just hope Electroneum doesn't end up in a ditch and actually rises up to the be a good thing. I hate to think that I'm wasting my time mining it.

You have the same issue as another issue, alhtough that is an upstream problem, I helped him solve it this way:

Run electroneumd like this

electroneumd --add-exclusive-node 167.114.229.99

That node is on my server and will always be online

Hhahahahaha, Tiago :D

thanks man, it will rise, but there will probably be a dump first because of some investors's frustratio, I for one am totally supporting the project

http://shrani.si/f/I/V0/2izPieAk/etn.jpg

When I start the deamon this is what I get (see below), and it syncs with no problems.
I don't know if it will help, but it has with other coin wallets, and that is to delete the blockchain folder "C:\ProgramData\electroneum\" (I would rename it to be safe, rather than delete it) and let it resync. It could be a corrupted blockchain.
The blockchain is over 2GB, which should not be a problem for most people, but check there is enough room for it.

There are tips on how to improve syncing but I can't remember them.

The wallet is working now, the problem was with the daemon. I took me a while, how to get the exclusive node command to work. On win 7 i created shortcut to electroneumd.exe  and modify it, so It looks like this: X\gui electroneum-gui-wallet\electroneumd.exe" --add-exclusive-node 167.114.229.99
The X is the directory of you wallet.

Thanks dev for a very nice work, i sent you a little something for all you effort.

hi

i was trying to use the electroneum-wallet-cli (first steps)
i did buy etn coins at cryptopia

before i made a paperwallet
i was mining with the windows miner from the electroneum website to that paperwallet
so i wanted to see if there was a balance on that paperwallet

i did import that paperwallet to a new wallet
there was no balance

then i sent the etn i got from cryptopia to the paperwallet
i found that transaction on the blockchain with the electroneum blockexplorer

but i cant find the coins anywhere. not in the wallet i used to import the paperwallet
i did import the paperwallet to a new wallet. no ballance too

does this mean once u imported a paperwallet - the paperwallet does not exist anymore?

i am new to cryptos

i mean it looks like the coins are lost
so this might be important to others too not to loose coins like i did

thanks for help

try this , so that you dont' have to setup your node or anything to check your funds.

electroneum-wallet-cli.exe --daemon-host 167.114.229.99
Enter your wallet data and check if the ETN's are there.
If they are, close it and run:
electroneumd.exe --add-exclusive-node 167.114.229.99
Let it sync until it ends, when it ends, open the GUI and you're good to go

i was connected with electroneumd.exe --add-exclusive-node 167.114.229.99 for a day
but now i restarted electroneumd.exe --add-exclusive-node 167.114.229.99 it said i was 400 blocks behind
strange cause i checked status it said up to date

-can i import a paper wallet only once or to different cli wallets
-can i still send coins to the paper wallet and find them in the cli wallet?

thanks again ur  8)

ps
i hope the rich richie read this
paperwallet:
to get the privateview and privatespend keys from the pdf i had to
make screenshot
create a jpg file from that screenshot
drop that file into chrometab
then install a chrome addon codereader
so finaly i got the key in ascii thats how we use it here with the cli
if millions of people want to use this might be nice to offer a better option to get these keys

Yeah, balances don't show up in the wallet... Either a scam or doesn't work properly. Rescanning balances doesn't do anything.

It's not a bug in the wallet, regenerate your wallet using the keys, and start at height 0

Wait some minutes for the total scan, your coins will be there.

Also happened to me using official CLI wallet.
And btw, the GUI is just an RPC frontend to the wallet, the walelt included in the zip, is the official one, you can check the sums yourself.

This is not a scam.

hi there . still couldnt sync to blockchain using

.\electroneumd --add-exclusive-node 167.114.229.99

frustrated . looking for solution almost a month now .

The node was down for maintenance (you must understand this is a node run by me, not the electroneum team)
 Can you try now?

Hi,

I´m also completely new to this coin and this kind of wallet. I´ve created an Paperwallet and stored the needed keys. Also i´ve mined some ETN  to this paper wallet. Now i´m trying to get this gui wallet to run. I´ve downloaded the files, unzipped it and now i´m running the electroneumd.exe. How long does it take to synch usually? It is running 4 hours now and I´m still 42 days behind. Is this normal?

Is that right? My next steps should be, after the synch has finished.

1. electronium-wallet-cli.exe --generate-from-keys mywallet.etn  from the wallet folder.
2. enter publiv key, enter private spend key, enter private view key
3. create pw and confirm  pw.
4. Restore from a specific date. Type in todays date.
5. Enter Y when prompted.

So far so good. Now i have to open electronium-wallet-cli.exe?
Do I have to use a new cmd window and keep the electroniumd.exe window open?
Or can i use the same window?
I tried it several times now, with another tutorial. And it doesn´t work. I just wanna make sure this is the right order now.
Is there something missing?

Many thanks in advance,
Paapo

Don't bother with this unofficial GUI wallet.
Just use the official command line cli-wallet from here https://github.com/electroneum/electroneum/releases
You can find tutorials on YouTube on how to use it.

It's not about buying too late, it's about selling too early.
Buy and hold. Longterm. 10+ years.

Buy and hold strategy is nice but... Life could end before 10+ years  ::) So no point in waiting too long  ;)

I am not receiving any funds in my ETN wallet since 09/03/2018. On 2 pools I see the transactions says succeeded but since the 09/03/2018 I haven't received any funds.

Please let me know what information you need in order to resolve this issue.

Thanks

Me and some friends of mine have mined for a while to this good gui wallet. But now it seems that it does not sync anymore.
It's possible to import the private keys into the official web wallet ?
Please, tperalta82 help us! Thank you very much.

not a new concept, but it's always an interesting thing to be a long-term investment, I see teams from various places and can be a solid team, this will be a potential project to get investors quickly and profit a lot.

can you update to X64 version.

this 32bit version deamon gives error and if you load electroneumd.exe also error since the blockchain is on the same map as the cli x64 version of electroneumRepo.
