Title: Salary In My Country Less Than 1 Millibitcoin
Post by: jokerlu on November 22, 2017, 06:47:11 PM
Hi guys, I pass a curious fact, they know that in my country the monthly salary is less than 1 millibitcoin, or less than 8 dollars a month, it is surprising that many people can survive a whole month with this salary, how much is the minimum wage in your country in bitcoin?

http://www.eluniversal.com/noticias/economia/salario-minimo-integral-aumento-45650744_676238 (Salario mínimo integral aumentó a Bs 456.507,44)

The one who pays a bitcoin better pays in 593,600,000 bs, a milibitcoin costs 593,000 bs which means that with a minimum monthly salary you do not buy a single milibitcoin, what do you think?

Very interesting!  In the US we have more expensive cost of living and our minimum wage varies from state to state but if we use the federal minimum wage ($7.25) and an 8 hour work day that is $58/day or roughly 7 millibitcoin per day at current prices. Over 30 days would be 212 millibitcoin per month but that is assuming a person worked every day with out taking weekends or other time off.

Geez, 8 dollars a month? Minimum wage in my country is currently 1565 euros or approximately 1850 USD. That is roughly 0,23BTC. Everything below 2000 euros or 2365 USD (roughly 0,27BTC) is considered low income.

Connecting people from poor countries to global markets is already a great achievement of Bitcoin, which often gets unnoticed because people from first world countries rarely think about the other parts of the world. I'm sure that this forum and Bitcoin freelancing platforms have already helped many thousands of people to get  much better living conditions than if they were going to their typical day job in their country. So, if anyone will be saying that Bitcoin is useless, remind them that the ability to send money to any part of the world, bypassing all borders, fees, conversion rates, taxes and regulations can be extremely valuable, because there are places where no traditional payment systems like Visa or PayPal can reach.

I can barely imagine how jammy it must feel to be signed up for a high paying sig campaign if you're in a failing shithole of a country. Someone posting a few times a day on their favourite subject might be earning more than four surgeons.

What a strange and creative place the internet can be.
