Title: what if bitcoin is applied in a corrupt country?
Post by: kaisa on November 23, 2017, 12:16:53 AM
one of the features of bitcoin is a blockchain system that is transparent to every transaction, whether it can encourage a decline in the nature of corruption in a country?
if it is true, hope the community of the country should encourage the government to use bitcoin, what do you think?

It's going to be hard to make a statement on that, only way you'd find out is by trial and error. I suppose it could make a difference because of the transparent nature. But then again you shouldn't underestimate smart accounting, Bitcoin is pseunomynos and governments may still find loopholes. Suppose they make 5 payments of which one is an offshore account, they claim the offshore account is an expense, the offshore account then puts the money into an exchange gets converted between different coins and back to BTC where it gets send back to a private account the public is not aware of. Basically a government could quite easily in regular expenses keep some money flowing out the backdoor into their own pockets.

I don't reall any country which is not corrupt, to a degree or another, so this question makes no sense.
