Luckily, I'm making lots of progress on the "persistent blockchain" upgrade (it's a big upgrade), so it should run with much more reasonable RAM requirements when I'm done. Though it may still be a few more weeks... On the other hand, if you're like me, I'm always looking for excuses to buy more RAM... Unfortunately now I'm at my limit of my motherboard: 32 GB. But I'm probably one of the rare people that actually needs that much RAM (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1139081/randompics/why_have_32GB_of_RAM.png).
