Do you think that ICO’s market is going down? Lot’s of scam and shit projects, expensive marketing for good teams, investors do not like to invest in ICO because token will go down after release on exchange…and other problems

We need ICO 2.0.
What I mean about ICO 2.0 We need transparent regulation based in blockchain.
We need to implement round-system.
This round-system is aimed to solve the most important problem, we do not give the team the whole amount at once, because it will actually destroy the startup, breaking down the founders’ desire to develop the project or to change the original business model.
A startup is a search for a functioning business model, few people can immediately visualize the development of the project for months and years ahead.

This round-system is aimed to protect the interests of investors/backers from fraud and incompetent teams. Even if the project has a strong team and a strong idea, this still does not guarantee success of the project, because the business model may simply not work, and it will be clear right after the Seed stage. In this case investors lose from 100к$ to 500 к$, but not dozens and hundreds of millions of dollars as it is now. In addition, we need to give a transparent report on the work completed.

It's going down because a lot of people just buy to make quick bucks. That a lot of project are made on blockchain just to use the buzz word and make money. That there is very few interesting ICO project right now. That a lot of investor think that each ICO have a good ROI, so they buy it without research. And of course there is people to take advantage of that.

Lots of successfull ICO projects are already up thousand times from ico sale price. This is a magnet for scammers.
And they are doing their work. Just newbies are not reading and investigating enough to spot them.
Thats the all problem.

God cant save the ICOs from being a scam project.People always find ways to fullfill their greediness thats the human nature,I wish ICOs should be regulated by someone somewhere.

They are just being crowded but the ICO's are not going down, there are still some good ICO's left on that crowded place. And how come they know (the investors) that the token will go down after it got listed on exchange? Where do you get that statement?

Lot's of examples. Especially last ICO's ... I know minimum five ICO who raise more than 25m...and Token went down

God save all the good ICO's perhaps and leave the rest that are SCAMS out of the equation.

No, do you want to involved the banker in the ico? There are some promising icos, you can make your own ico. As long as you can try to do a proper research for every project and that will decrease a lot of the chance to get scammer from the ico. I made 10x from powerledger.

As long as you do research and stay clear of scams, then you have no need of anyone else. Listen and see everything but believe in nothing - scams are everywhere!

The idea seems legit but it requires to be developed. Round system would stop the massive flow of newcoming ICOs. But if so, would then ICOs be different from VC?

Of course it would. We talk about p2p investment. Everything will be  transparent and open source.

We need powerful rules to prevent scams. It should not be government.  It should be open source solutions.
Fuck banks. ICO it's fantastic tool for business. But when you earn 35m you think you will work on your product? We talk about business and products not about speculation. 

I think it’s better to add some type of regulation. For me, I would like to know more about updates on the project in which I invested. For example, what have been made so far, on what stage the service or product is, etc.

Wouldn’t round system turn investment from short-term into long-term? I mean, many investors sell their token right after ICO or wait for some days. Not many of them wait for long-time to exit.

Not really. Tokens are issued. And if make agreements with exchanges, then it will have liquidity and any investor and buy or sell it.

This is the reason way there is more demand for the regulated ICO now and government might just take the decision on this to regulate the stuff and make it under controlled environment. If that happen then the ICO will have to go through various verification process and if that happen then government will have the legal proof of every team member and owner of the ICO on whom we can take the legal action if something gets wrong afterwards.


However, that day is still far from now and there doesn’t seem any good movement in the field yet. For now scam list will keep growing so its better to earn money from the ICO which has been already listed on the exchanger and its been while for the project and already on the verge of good development. This way everything can be preserved nicely and our investment would be safer.

Scams are evolving  ;D they're trying to trick contributors in every way possible. round system of limited sums will stop scammers.

Nice overview mate,but we dont have any regulatory board that filters ICOs.Thats what i am waiting to happen to revive the ICOs because today if you say ICOs the first thing people will think it is a scam.

the time of quality icos just ended. nowadays there are too many imposers and scammers.

Your idea is very good, but nobody to agree to such conditions. And how it will be implemented, the scammers will always Scam. Just need to learn to see it in the beginning.

Yeah that is why I lost more than $500 bucks since last month on the ICO stakes. This was crazy investment I ever had and I was so into all of them. ICO are like very attachment things, they attract us and show us dream that we will make big money from them but at the end everything gets collapsed and they put us into position to sell our things at very lowest prices. The things well, the token itself. Im feeling so bad about this investment now a days. It was golden period when altcoin projects or ICO project used to be greatest investment ever, I mean the profits were free, without any more efforts than just investing into ICO blindly! But now a days its gone, we have always loosing fear for our investment. Hopefully things will change over again but I think it will need lots of efforts to be taken.

Community is developing and learn from its mistakes. So, blockchain is a fast-moving industry. So, I won’t be surprised if the rules of ICOs would change in the nearest future.

Great scheme. I’ve lost $10K in scams in summer and I analyze projects more intense now.

Even the promising and real projects can turn into scam or just fail in the end. The round system will at least minimize the risk loss

There is one in the pipeline, CoinMetro, who will contribute profits from the business(s) to prop up the price of their COIN, perhaps worth keeping in mind for when it launches.

Its really good analysis even startups not required whole amount at once it should be break up as you mentioned based on the progress and even it has to be regularised some platform like KickICO and Comsa came up with solution still lots to be done because there is lots of ICO coming up with only intention of scamming.

honestly, I’ll bet that ICO won’t survive at all. nothing can save them. Eventually, it will become like venture investing

It wont be surprising since we do already see it happen for how many times on which ICO comes up or ends up on scamming its investors which it would really still happen this is why im keen on joining up ICO as of now because of lots of trash project and most of them are just copying each others idea which its really useless at all.There are still some which are worth to invest on but it would really be hard to select specially lots of project that do crowdfund on a single day which would make our search to be tough.

Actually ico is very important in crypto world and i hope ico is saved.

Yes.  We do have many ICOs capturing markets succeeding in all the aspects.  See the trend in coinmarketcap.com.  If you look at each ICO trend map for recent days,  it has been so good.  A splendid growth is seen.  Really wondered,  if other altcoins as well would still have growth when bitcoin is in its peak. So,  we have many good ICOs.  Try investing in them rather blindly moving with scamming ICOs.

ICO is not down. A good investor can analyze. No one will invest their money, to who knows where!

ICOs collect millions only with MVP and 2-5 members in team. Why not?

Every ICO funds that had been collected should be escrowed, and be certified by some platform that they are a legit ICO. I wonder if there is a way or a platform that verifies the owner , company background and of course funds should be secured for investors if goal is not met then investors will be refunded at ease. 

The pre-seed round can be close just by 1-2 whales. It won’t be ICO anymore.

Oh God! Save us from this Newbie and trying to trick that his ICO is better than him.
This kind of ICO is just wasting the table grid of ICO lists, please stop this! If you're going to announce your ICO then you're on the wrong section.
If you think your ICO company is big enough to welcome investors then hire good higher rank members and entrust your ICO announcements and bounty campaigns to them. You're not supposed to be here.

as long you make a propper investigation before make an investment it would be good, so many scam ICOs cause peeps think that so easy to gather money from that

At first glance this idea seems to be quite good. I agree that monitoring the use of collected funds as a result of the ICO is necessary, this reduces the risk of fraud. However, along with public control, there is also a need for monitoring by state authorities at the initial stage of the ICO to identify the team that will conduct it.

Too many scams? Too many bad products?

trust me guys , if you do your research very carrefully , you will always find good ICO's with huge potential in the future. I will type 2 for you , HDAC and TokenPay. It's a must to check the both , trust me.

People are greedy. They think that money can come to them very easy, when they make no effort. Thus, dishonest people use this weak train of character of others and steal their money. God will not help ICO. We must become more cautious!

Why talking about myth in the real world guys. There is no wrong to think we need to make the money with the investment without big effort but we should move ideally to increase the profit with you funded. Especially in ICO you will be able to make the money if you find the project is relevent and which will be works in crypto currency platform. Unless that concern ICO project you invested will not work at all.
This is many people believe its value in the time they distribute the tokens and purchase the irrelevant ICO token finally value goes to cent and even down.

Your OP is from November 2017 and since then things have gone from bad to worse for ICOs with more and more of them turning out to be sheer scams. I guess ICO's will be comatose for a while and then they will eventually resurrect in a better way with more rules and guarantees.

This is a turnaround, there is a time for the above and there is a time to under, so we must remain wise to assess the current conditions, not because his condition continues to worsen then we blame and corner crypto, be heartened because there is a time of profit and also there is a time to loss so just relax.
