So today one of my teachers came to me after school. She and some of her colleagues talked about ways that they can invest their money and save up (as teachers in South-Africa aren't really paid well) one of them then mentioned Bitcoins and how Cryptocurrencies are showing very high growth. Then some or other teacher mentioned that I have some knowledge about Bitcoin (still have no idea how they knew that) But anyway long story short- Tomorrow I am doing a presentation for all my school's staff +/- 50 people about Cryptocurrencies, and then possibly to the whole school.
Yeah, just some short story I thought I would share, about a practical example of how Bitcoin is reaching the masses.
UPDATE: Thanks again for all the advice and motivation guys. The presentation went well, and in my opinion was a HUGE success. Although most of the staff had trouble understanding some of the technical aspects of bitcoin, they sure all understood when I showed them a graph of Bitcoins past growth  Grin I helped 6 teachers, including our Headmaster setup accounts on Luno (a local bitcoin exchange) and showed them how to buy Bitcoin from there, and gave two old Antminer U3's for our computer teacher (who was really fascinated with the blockchain and how it worked) to play with. The staff really seemed impressed with what opportunities bitcoin could bring to the table, and I spent nearly an hour after the talk answering questions and explaining some concepts. Of course I also mentioned some of the risks, like when I sent 0.4 Bitcoin instead of 0.4 Bitcoin Cash to Shapeshift and lost it all *facepalm*, the high transaction fees, and the fact that we can all wake up tomorrow to see our bitcoins worth trash(Highly doubt that would ever happen though) but in general, the response was really positive. NOW if of those 56 staff members, only 10 of them each tells 10 of their friends about bitcoin, we can get a snowball effect going in this area  Grin

So glad I can finally talk to people about Cryptocurrencies, Back in 2015 when I first told my mom about it, she couldn't stop nagging about the fact that it is a big scam and the youth of today could be fooled so easily ::), well i've been smiling all the way As bitcoin is now more than 20x it was then ;D

I think you should explain with the risks that can be faced anytime. not just from the benefits alone, many beginners see only from the profits but dont want the risks.

The spark just came from a talk to where they could put their money for investment and then Voila! Bitcoin came up. Thanks to the rising value that it shows.

Wow this is great, but seriously, how did they know that you were really involved with cryptocurrencies?

Maybe it would be great if you could tell it to us tomorrow how was that meeting, i think that you are going to get a lot of questions from all the teachers and from all the staff, bitcoin is not something easy to explain, and less if you are trying to explain it to people who are more than 40/50 years old.

probably awesome just because you are entirely to do this for the sake of bitcoin but doing this for them to know and sharing knowledge i may salute you because on my country there is some that wanted that and i tech them too but they are not continuing to do cause there is a lot of online job that they want unlike bitcoin an easy way but they dont know that it was just a scam so its their choice so hopefully for some that you may share your knowledge about bitcoin they continue and adopt it.

Bitcoin is spreading very far and becoming more visible in the society, despite most countries has not received it yet as a legal currency /material. Citizens of my country are on a daily basis knowing more about it and are investing into it.

Very good story. I am also a student and, due to my knowledge of the bitcoins, I agreed on a mutual service for writing my graduation work. Knowledge for knowledge and this is the most expensive currency in the world.

Wow, this is mind-blowing. As a student and to present to teachers about cryptocurrency is a privilege. It is always good to share your knowledge about something, and in this case, about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency. I just hope you deliver your presentation well and will not turn out like a networking investment of some sort. Remember that people are afraid about investing so make sure that you will not give only the honey, give also the hatchet so that they will not blame Bitcoin if they lose their money.

You should tell about hackers, private information and storage of keys solely under the pillow. :) And ending with questions - "How much money do you personally have?" Do not tell them the truth. This is a great introduction to your class mate and teachers to gain knowledge in the crypto. You can say that crypto is a digital currencies that we can use For buying at online stores. Also say that the price of Bitcoins / Altcoins is rising and falling and there we make money. Investments and of course include investing in ICOs. I'm sure that many people will be interested in studying crypto currencies as well

More than it bitcoin has spread like the internet connection today in the future all of people around the world will use the bitcoin as payment method on daily transaction or online transaction bitcoin is future of money, technology behind of the bitcoin (blockchain) has addopted by almost all of corporations and it is mean just about the time until bitcoin be addopted as digital currency, right now bitcoin is considered as digital asset than digital currency. We can make prediction the price of bitcoin when mass addoption is happen on bitcoin.

Have explained bitcoin to my professors 3 years ago and they seem dulled and uninterested about it since they never heard of it on the mainstream news. Now that bitcoin is making rounds on the telly every now and then, these professors are now asking me if I could help them on how to get started. Some of my former classmates are also asking me as well. They still couldn't believe that I'm making more than what they make (engineers, nurses, physicians) in a single month by just trading and being at home. The hype spreads fast like wildfire, and the interest is growing day by day.

There is a lot of way that Bitcoin spreading example, in a social media like Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and others are through referrals of their friends. And many people is curious about Bitcoin just like what I did. 

It's funny how quickly word spreads around schools. I am an Economics teacher and have a very keen interest in crypto. We have as a group put together our own little Bitcoin wallet and are now using this as an example of how the blockchain sytem works by puting small amounts of money in ( My own of course ) and using this to trade through various exchanges. It,s been over 3 months since it started and have seen a small profit. To the point where we are now using it as the schools donation fund. It's great to see the excitment in students eyes when they see the reward you get from crypto trading.

I think why bitcoin is spreading this fast is that when people hear bitcoin they think it is easy money. Most do not realize that you have to at least have some capital to invest in it, or if you don't have any capital you have to work online and get paid in coins for your efforts. In any case bitcoin is not money out of thin air, and people need to realize this.

Wow it's an achievement not only to bitcoin ecosystem but on your own too. Getting picked by those teachers as their demonstrator and will discuss about bitcoin, wow I'm not that an expert but this is one of my dream to stand in front of them talking about on how great this coin is. Using the basic of economy, the price of the good is determined by supply and demand. So with the bitcoin rising from 1k to 8k within a year, this shows that the limit supply has encounter a huge increase in demand to justify for the raise in price.

This a story that bitcoin is growing very fast, as of the moment many are asking ways on how to earn in bitcoin, many are very eager to learn here in our place, some of my friends are in it as well and wanted to see me just to learn directly from me, at first I am quite shock that some of my friends especially those who are not tech savvy are very willing to listen to each and every aspect that I am telling, I am very happy that they are opening their cups to learn new things, hopefully there are more people that I can share knowledge with regarding bitcoin.

Congratulation on that and how did the presentation go, I was pointed at by my pastor in my local Church who i introduced to bitcoin some time ago to present and educate his congregation on bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and after the service most of the members meet me and said they have never hard of it before. I gave them more details and they are now doing well in bitcoin, bitcoin is now very popular in my country that even some radio stations now air program about bitcoin and how one can invest in it.

Not so fast because most of my friends doest know what bitcoin is and they don't understand me when i am telling them about bitcoin.

Good news for us then. Also, I 've been promoting bitcoin with my 10 friends when are drinking at the bar.  They have been telling me How much do I have bitcoin from now. Then I keep telling them its hard to earn and I only have little bitcoin in my wallet. But I withdraw a lot of Fiat money for a while for doing easy jobs like signature campaigns.  They ask me many questions about bitcoin again and again. But when it comes in the morning when they are not drunk  I  ask them again if they really want to learn bitcoin. Sadly they just ignore me. The good side is  I have now 2 of my friends are now starting to learn bitcoins.

I can say, there is an extraordinary thing happen to bitcoin. It is rarely happen to any forms of investment just like this.  Through continuously promoting crypto by the used of social media's campaign help bitcoin spread widely. Because we are now in computer generation and most probably all of us are engaging internet everyday as a part of our daily activities.

I almost had the same experience as you. Our teacher assigned us to do a research on what topic we would like to present so I thought of Bitcoin. I introduced Bitcoin to them and told them what it can do. Sadly, they didn't react a bit. It seems that in my country (or atleast in my place), people at my age (17-20) don't have any interest when it involves virtual money. So good luck presenting Bitcoin in your place, I hope it gets successful and not as awkward as mine.  :)

Bitcoin is gaining value this year exceptionally well. This is the first time in history price was increasing by 1000$ within 100 days from 1K to 2K, 3K and now 8000$ and we need to remember Bitcoin was nearly 5 years below 1K and now in 2017 gained from 1000$ to 8000$ that's an amazing achievement.
At my work, no one was interested in BTC before but since it raised in value to 8K I have some colleagues asking me almost every day so definitively BTC is spreading.

Very fast.. Bitcoin is going far infact my aunt made my sister explain it to her about it because she was curious on what keeps us busy everytime. Then we spoke about the thing which she cant even relate. So she ask my sister then they had an one on one explaination then she invest and also inviting some of her friends.. its crazy! And yeah. good to hear that even in schools bitcoin has been talked about. not only bitcoin but cryptocurrencies i prefer. due to this emerging popularity and so many advertisements of bitcoin, lots of people are curious already and started to wonder what are those investments that are good in a long term purpose, although some investments  requires big amount of money to start, here you can have small amounts and start little by little until it grows, and since bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are volatile, it has been taken advantage and mistakenly identified as an investment, but the real purpose of it is to be an actual currency.

I tried to steer away from other Cryptos, talked a bit about a few good ones, But with all these ICO scams going on and coins being pumped and dumped I thought until someone has more knowledge about Cryptocurrencies they should first stick to Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is growing fast as people are aware of bitcoin its more in use and discussion of people and more people start studying and following it which day by day increase its popularity and use 

Bitcoin is spreading first intact bitcoin is now the talk of town in my country.

Bitcoin is indeed growing fast! Even those who are against it before, they became interested and even ask me if I could teach them all of the things I know about it. I was shock because one time when I was in an internet cafe, there are two kids, I think round 13 years old, talking about Bitcoin at my back. It is a good thing because Bitcoin is now making an impact on the world.

Wow, thats a good post you have made by sharing the reality of the bitcoin. I mean this is so cool for bitcoin that it is spreading in the country where we can barely think bitcoin or crypto currency will run. I mean no offence at all, but the out reach of the crypto currency due to lack of digital world in the Africa is little odd but I’m happy that somewhere somebody is working hard to push the bitcoin further. It could be out of excitement or it could be out of greed of earning money but whatever it is, its giving you completely satisfaction and helping out the bitcoin to reach major crowd possible.


Nice way to educate about the bitcoin is to start with schools and then they will speak about it at home, then parents will speak with neibughers and this will keep spreading all over the country like unwanted fire. Thats cool really and nice way to go with it.

but it is good for us and because of that the payment method will be much more easier to get hahahahah.. and much lower cost fee

Yes indeed, and in the end it will start a big snowball effect, and with bitcoins being so limited, I think it's safe to say that bitcoin wont stop climbing very soon

It is a matter of location that how fast the people are getting aware of this digital currency Those countries that are too advanced in technology and are considered to be centuries ahead from the rest of the world, will definitely have a greater percentage of citizens having knowledge about  bitcoin.

People who are living in underdeveloped or developing countries will have relatively less percentage but the fact is its awareness among common public is increasing.

Truly, Bitcoin's popularity have grown in such humongous proportion that it can be likened to the genesis of e-mail. Remember when e-mail started? Not all were amenable to it because people then are having a hard time adjusting to computers concerning privacy and personalized issues. These people critiqued e-mail technology so much that even I would not think e-mail would stand the test of time. But look how e-mail became such a necessity to date? So that is what I am seeing in Bitcoin. It is not that enticing because it has tons of issues with it but it is enough to keep it really interesting.   

We can see today  that bitcoin is spreading in a rather fast way. More people are investing and supporting bitcoin in  the world. The world is being digitalized. Digital transaction is used too. The top of digital money is bitcoin.
