These samples have a couple differences from the final production version. The KP stamp will have to be removed from the stone versions as it is just too finely detailed. The COAs will have a raised stamped seal, so the KP stamp will still show up there. Also the bezels will be a bit sharper as illustrated by this quick little sketch:

Here's the display stand concept art and the pouches the kaps themselves will come in. Note there will be a laser engraved "Kryptopath's KryptoKaps" design on the front of the black stand.

KryptoKap Dice are collectable dice, featuring cryptocurrency symbols instead of dots or numbers, with most made out of stone, and some of metal.
Note the metal editions are in the works, these pre-orders and the first few releases most likely will only be stone. I'm going to be scaling up this project as time goes on.

Each side will feature the symbol of the cryptocurrency as related to its position on the ‘Market Cap Dominance’ chart. The chart is read at 12:01 AM on the first of the month, and can be found here:

For example this first edition of October 2017 will be:
Bitcoin - #1 (along with month, year and KP stamp)
Ethereum - #2
Ripple - #3
BitcoinCash -#4
Litecoin - #5
Dash - #6

In short, the bigger the coin, the lower the roll :)

You'll notice the Ripple logo's replacement with XRP. This is due to Ripple not releasing their logos under a CC license. Ethereum and Dash have released their logos under CC licenses.

There will be a new edition for every month, and the design will be adjusted (or not) based on changes to the chart over time. The change we see from October to November is simply Bitcoin Cash and Ripple have switched places.

These will be a fun and unique way to visualize the changing cryptocurrency landscape over time. Each edition will include a short write up of the events of the past month and draw attention to notable changes in the design. Perfect for those wanting to display historical representations of the most disruptive technology of our time. It’s been a wild ride so far, and it will be cool to watch how the market changes these over time.


Here’s what makes these awesome and will keep them awesome:

• Each COA-bearing edition will have the same number of releases forever. I.E. there will only be 100 silver plated, 50 gold plated, 10 solid silver, or something to that effect for October, that many for November and so on.. While the numbers per edition remain the same, the prices are likely to change with demand. These numbers will be finalized after I get a feel for interest in the product.
• Once this project begins paying for itself, a portion of profits will be donated to local charities. Most of which will go toward meeting needs as they come up, but some will remain in bitcoin holdings to be saved for a period of time and then may be used by such charities. A couple bucks per Kap today might be a couple hundred in 10 years. At least that’s the idea.
• Here’s where it might get a little confusing. The plan is to follow a schedule for releases of current and previous months. Once production capacity allows, I will be releasing backdated months in reverse order from October 2017. Say for example come February, when I release the January 2018 edition, I will at the same time release the September 2017. Then around March I release the February 2018 and the August 2017. Then March 2018 and July 2017, April ‘18 and June ‘17, May ‘18 and May ‘17 and so on.

Here are the perks for placing a pre-order:

• Pre-orders cost $15 per stone Kap - the in-stock price will be $20.
• These Pre-order stone editions will all come with unique “first edition preorder COAs”.  COAs will not be issued to general release marble editions, and will be reserved for the metal, and special issue editions such as for notable events like the Genesis Block, 10K Pizza, the First Halvening, etc. etc.
  -I will not be placing a limit on the number of pre-orders, so if you want 10, feel free to order 10, but who knows how many “pre-orders” will end up existing.
  -I will not be reserving any numbers of COAs beyond 0001-0010 I will be keeping for myself and gifts. It’s first come first served.
• Also included will be a signed letter of thanks for being the awesome people to help launch KryptoKaps
• Some nice laser engraved display stands are being produced in the near future as well. All pre-orders will be entitled to $5 off on those.

The ethereum logo design has switched to remove the space in between the lower triangles, making one shape. Preventing the splitting of the space is to unreliable.

I have an account too but am hardly active. Is there physical crypto fun to be had there? I know people find out about Btalk.org from certain Reddit posts, but do not know how in-depth that stuff gets there besides an occasional mention.

I will be covering domestic shipping usps priority. After speaking with the manufacturer these should get here by the 21st. If I can get them out the next day, priority shipping might not be fast enough to reach everyone here in the US on xmas eve. A perk of the preorders is free shipping, but should you be inclined to tip, priority shipping is $6.75 on my end :)

If You're on the west coast it's a high chance these will be there by xmas eve.

For international shipping there's no way they'll arrive before the 25th, but I will charge $15 per order.

Good question. What's funny is the display stands cost much more to make each than the Kaps. But I really don't want to have to charge more for the stand than the Kap so even if it's not that profitable I'll charge the same as the Kap. $20 in stock price, but preorders will get $5 off, so at $15 it will be the same price.

Not sure of your circumstances or situation, but LTC is accepted as payment too.  This helped reduce fees and confirmation time.

After looking back at the market cap dominance chart for October 1 00:00-00:15 I was shocked to find these numbers:

Bitcoin             48.72%
Ethereum         19.35
Ripple                5.12
BitcoinCash        4.87
Litecoin              1.98
Dash                  1.68

Ripple is in third making these Kaps incorrect. After seeing this it has me genuinely wondering if the chart has been changed since first announcing the project.

Did anyone happen to check the chart back then?

I've got some very unfortunate news.  :(

I have been informed by the manufacturer that there has been an accident during production. Paint spilled over the Kaps, ruining them. I'm told it will be 20 days to redo these.

I'm going to get as many more pictures as I can, but here's what I've got so far:

Not very much paint out of place, so I'm not sure if it ruined the whole batch. I've asked for a bunch more pictures so we'll get those soon.

The old design was used by mistake as well, so there's a couple issues to address.

Whew it's been a while since an update!
Life has been hectic these past months preparing for a move in two days.

Here's what's been going on. The second attempt at mass production should finally be done within a week. The custom KP embossing stamp has been made and is in the mail to me. The certificate of authenticity has been drawn up, and will include a unique qr code with a bitcoin signed message detailing who the original owner is, as well as the tx ID and payment method. I'm happy to report the Kaps are done and are on their way across the ocean!

There seemed to be some miscommunication as to the shipping speed. I was under the impression that it would be the same speed as the samples. The package is a few hundred times heavier though, so 3 day shipping was out of the question. 10 days until arrival is what we'll have to wait for.

Wish I could get more pictures before shipping but it's too late. Once the get here I can take a TON of sharp pics  ;D

They are FINALLY done! Whew!

Ok so here's what's next:

Getting packaging all ready.

Everyone who still needs to reply with the tx IDs so I can finalize each of your COAs, please do so sometime before 10 days I guess :)

Hi everyone! I'm ecstatic to show you guys the first pics of the KryptoKaps! Also there's a few points and first impressions to go over.

I'm just going to throw as many quick observations at you as I can, in as few words as well heh.  :P

I've only gone through one 'brick' of 42. There are a bunch of rejects. About 40% so far :(

This means I must closely inspect each side and edge, of every kap. Oh boy. At 10 seconds each side, 6 sides x 300 kaps = 300 minutes. 5 hours... this is going to be a while.

There are few kaps where the shimmer is noticeable. I haven't been outside with them yet so I hope to be pleasantly surprised with them in the sun.

Ok people a lot to go over. Great, good and bad news.

The great news is that shimmer is all over :)
The good news is that all the pre-orders will have good looking Kaps, and should be shipping out in the next few days.
The bad news is that a bunch of them we're either too poor quality (lasering a natural material makes it tough), or had been shattered in shipping. That shocked me for sure, considering they are marble.

The rows to the left of the shattered ones are rejects. On at least one side, the design has been messed up too much.

Because these are not completely uniform size, the slightest gap could cause an impact between the Kaps during shipping. I've talked to the manufacturer and have been assured of better packaging in the future, as well as credit for the ruined cubes.

So now on to how unique each one will be! So bits of sparkle peek through on most of them, but what makes for an amazing shimmer, is when a band of sparkle runs up against a side.

This one is one of the coolest I've found. It has multiple bands running through it, and a couple that shimmer on either side! I'll be making a video of that to show a bit better.
A very rare occurrence is you can see the band go all the way through the Kap!

In addition to the shimmer, the size of the cubes vary slightly. Putting the biggest next to the smallest there is almost 2mm difference. May not seem like a lot, but it is noticeable if you're looking carefully.

The irregularity in the curve of the edges is probably the most noticeable, if you're closely examining them side by side:

Because these must be sanded down to shape, and to a polish, the natural variables and perhaps inconsistencies in the process make for slightly differing sized cubes.
In short, each one is completely unique!

I'll be getting some more close-ups added to that image gallery, though I'm trying to get these out as quickly as possible! I can't wait to hear people's thoughts on them after they arrive :)

Ok people a little update.

There seems to be some miscommunication with the manufacturer. The "error cubes" had been reused it seems. Some of these "new" ones are imperfectly redone. They had used the old ethereum logo, so they had to laser over the design to remove the lower part of the old logo. If you look very closely sometimes you can see the rework:

The lines on these are usually a bit more blurry as well. This isn't most of them, but I figured I'd ask the communities opinion on this one. Should I keep these in "circulation"? Not sure if anyone would've even noticed, but I've been looking so closely at so many of these... ugh. I might be too much of a perfectionist.

After printing the COAs I learned I had made everything too small. Redoing the whole thing to be bigger (without making everything blurry) was pretty much starting over. Knowing exactly what I was going for sped things up, but still pushes stuff back.

Getting these in the mail first thing Monday morning seems the most likely. I'll be working on these until late tonight for sure, but I don't think I can get these in the mail tomorrow.

This whole thing has been one learning experience after another. Everything takes more work, takes longer and is more complicated than expected, as a rule I've noticed. I am beyond grateful for everyone's patience.

All my time these past few days has been spent on these little beauties, and I don't expect this weekend to be different except Sunday morning :) They'll be released into the wild soon!

Sneaky peaky... The summary will be printed on better paper than just plain white printer paper.

Hello all! Ok this is going to be a long one.

First off, a bunch of packages went out on Thursday, so some people might be getting them today! I’ve been so swamped I haven’t even been able to tell you guys yet! International orders have yet to go out, and a couple domestic people I’ve pm’d to get things rolling.

There’s a few clarifications to make. So at least some of the ‘error’ cubes that I had wanted to be included in the order, had been reused in these new ones. So yes, the error cubes were included, but they had just been reused :/

Communication issues can be a bit baffling sometimes.

So because there are no ‘error kaps’ ie from before this first batch, instead I’ve given each of you one from the “substandard but awesome unique/interesting defect/shimmer too good to pass up” category. Only 12 Kaps got put in there. Here’s a video of the coolest one I’ve found :)

The individually wrapped Kap you’ll find in your package (the one not in a black drawstring bag) will be the one from that category.


A couple notes on the COAs.

Karma isn’t mine to dish out, so everyone’s COAs are printed as they should be. I just hope people research who they do business with before conducting it. I think that’s all I should say on that.

Also a concern I have is of the qr code fading over time. It’s printed on some nice parchment paper, but as some of you may notice, on a few of the COAs the qr code has a small portion a bit faded already. I had to reprint a few to make sure the qr codes scanned, so I made sure each one actually does scan.

I really have no clue how much these will fade, and if that will impact the qr code enough to ruin the scan. I considered laminating them, but realized the embossing stamp I have is not strong enough to really punch into that. It’s a little handheld embosser, not a desktop one which could provide substantially more force.

I’m not sure I’d like these laminated anyways. I have such an affinity for natural materials that covering plastic over the parchment seemed like the wrong direction to go.

Some very disappointing news on the rest of the Kaps in stock. After opening the last 3 ‘bricks’ of Kaps, almost 2 entire packs were rejects. Little chips and rough designs everywhere :(
After all is said and done, there are no Kaps left in stock that meet my standards for shipping. About 40 or so are in the “substandard” category, not the outright rejects. These Kaps are close to good enough, sometimes really really close. I’m considering selling them in discounted pairs for people to use more to roll than put on a shelf. If you don’t need them to look perfect, would people be interested in still buying these? I’ll get some sample pics up of the substandard ones. Maybe a video.

There’s a bunch more of an update to write I think but I’ll get this one posted for now.
