You do realize no one is going to do this because you can call Paypal and have the payment reversed saying you never received anything right? Thus nobody will even consider this.

I promise you this is not a scam, I sell stuff on ebay and use paypal all the time. You can check out my ebay profile as well, there is no way I would gather that much positive ratings and stars if I scammed people. My ebay name is bosstyson. Also, on paypal if you send money as a "gift" you cannot challenge the transaction after the money is picked up. Thus I can send it like that if the person prefers. I am more worried about getting scammed by someone else. I know someone out there has 50 or 60 BTC and also has a paypal account. I can send the money right now and then just send the BTC to my mtgox.com address and we are all good. I will then send an extra $50 for the hassle and for trusting me. I have never scammed anyone in my life. I hate that it's so prevalent on the internet, not cool.

Also, we can do a small one, like 10 BTC to start and if that goes well we both know it's not a scam and go from there.

You have 180 days to reverse the charge that is over 6 months.....

Yes, PayPal sadly is on the buyer's side much more than the seller - and they probably wouldn't even understand if someone tried to explain bitcoins in a dispute.

Tell me about it, had so many f*cking issues with them while I was selling stuff on ebay that I pretty much quit ebay.  Now I have a separate checking account for Paypal and I remove the money right away.

It's too bad paypal is like this, but ebay is the same way. Fortunately I've never had issues with either site, but I'm not selling things consistently either. Does anyone know why he doesn't just join an exchange site to buy BTC himself?

If you can prove your authenticity through an Ebay history or something similar, you can use Bitmarket (https://bitmarket.eu/).

If you don't mind waiting 45 days, you can use Youtipit (http://youtipit.org/).

Probably because Mt Gox does not seem trust worthy to a new comer and Trade Hill I believe has a 100$ minimum.  Maybe he just wants 1 or 2 bitcoins to begin playing with the system.

Well he could do what's called "claim and cancel" where he would file a claim, then cancel it right after. By doing this be wont be able to fine another claim after that.

Well I've had some email communication with this potential buyer and he's using two different email addresses with two different names. It just seems too sketchy for my tastes. He can certainly join an exchange if he wants to buy BTC. He does claim to have 300 or so positive feedback on ebay however.

Be ready to pay for a LOT more than the current price of the coins.
Me uses the virtual credit card from entropay so there's no chargeback there :D  8)

Cash in hand or cash bank deposits are the only way BTC sellers can feel 100% secure.
