Title: Bitcoin vs other cryptocurrencies.
Post by: cryptoon007 on November 24, 2017, 09:16:16 AM
Do you think there's going to be another cryptocurrency to rival Bitcoin in ten years to come with Its very high demand and supply?

Bitcoin is the original cryptocurrency, and was released as open-source software in 2009.

It is the original cryptocurrency with the most liquidity and significant network effects.
It also has brand name recognition around the world, with an eight-year track record.

So i prefer bitcoin only!

Bitcoin is like a father of all cryptocurrencies. It is stronger and has more power that all alts.

Nah doubt bitcoin can be matched now it has too big of a lead in my eyes. There are many alts with better specs but they will never over take bitcoin. I mean bitcore destroys bitcoin specs wise but it is only $30 worth. Doubt

the "flippening" of bitcoin ever happens.

a government issued one. maybe WTO is going to start. but its very hard to beat the anti-inflationary mechanism in btc for a  currency. currencies must be inflationary or deflationary, depending, if population is growing or shrinking.

I see a lot of evolution in Ethereum, so considering all the platforms based on ethereum i think it will go very high at some point, can't wait for it, i have some coins.

Sure anything is possible, but the rival need to compete with the root of crypto currencies, I think it will be extremely difficult to beat down bitcoin, but anything can change in 10 years, nothing can survive and be on top forever

Bitcoin is far worse than many many other cryptocurrencies. Ethereum, for example, got a lot of advantages with the better block time and the better technology. Blockchain technology is useful for far more than keeping track of a currency's balances, and Ethereum lets developers build applications without having to build their own blockchain.

Litecoin is like Bitcoin in many ways, but it has a faster block generation rate and hence offers a faster transaction confirmation.

Dash (originally known as Darkcoin) is a more secretive version of Bitcoin. Dash offers more anonymity as it works on a decentralized mastercode network that makes transactions almost untraceably

Bitcoin price is not reflected in its technology, in fact most coins aren't really dependent that much on their technology to achieve success. Many many shitcoins have a high value and many high quality coins have a low value. This will eventually change in the future but for now, you can get rich investing in shit coins. Welcome to the crypto world.

There will be so many that you cannot imagine. In fact, there are already many. Just wait that their popularity grows.

Why don't you go for a shorter time period such as 3 years or 5 years, rather than going for long duration such as 10 years? Because no one can predict the future of Bitcoin and it has been existence for less than 10 years. And in the future if some altcoin is going to replace Bitcoin, then it is going to be one of the Bitcoin clones, such as Bitcoin Cash or Bitcoin Gold.

this is an interesting topic for me. talking bitcoin comparisons with other currencies I think it's hard to explain. at the moment bitcoin is the highest-priced crypto currency, while the other crypto currency is based on bitcoin. so for now the position of bitcoin can not be replaced with another currency, either crypto or fiat

Bitcoin is like a father of all cryptocurrencies. It is stronger and has more power that all alts.

But soon he become older and older so the quicker and more comfortable alts could replace it

I don't think any other cryptocurrencies value could really catch up bitcoin price. The train already passed. But there still a lot of opportunities for other crpytocurrencies, since blockchain technology is so useful in many ways. And now the stock market and real estate market is already quite high, a lot of money would come to cryptocurrencies, there are a lot of coins are in the low price.

Bullshit. Bitcoin's price is only so high because of speculation, ethereum however has real support and has already a 63b market cap compared to 300 of bitcoin, is not far from reaching it. Bitcoin will eventually ''crash'' not to 1k dollars but still it's going to happen eventually.

Bitcoin is the mother of cryptocurrency and now it's the strongest with difference of 16k$ from other cryptocurrency ,but if we take a look we will see that Ethereum in a short period has rising +400% or more so i think that Ethereum can surpass Bitcoin in the future , not in 2 or 3 years from now but about 5 years i think .

Bitcoin price is not reflected in its technology, in fact most coins aren't really dependent that much on their technology to achieve success...I think that there are no competitors to the bitcoin right now..but its great that its becoming more available and widespread all around the world ..for example, there is a project called mytimecoin..which turns time into tokens..it sounds insane..but its true..

(my opinion only)

Bitcoin set the tone for what would come next. Now is the time for other players to come and improve the original offer. It's only fair that everyone participates and "gives" something useful in the building of the future. No monopolies.

From that site's white paper, "Today’s financial and economic system, to our great regret, relies on the money-to-money principle: affluent people and companies keep growing their wealth, and the poor keep getting poorer."

I just cringed and ended reading right there. To blame today's economic system (rather than the government) for harming the poor is just foolish. Before the existence of free trade and free markets, nearly everyone was poor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPHs9Ln8QT8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPHs9Ln8QT8)

Bitcoin is the D&D of cryptocurrencies, so NOPE no one will rival it.

We are seriously in full hype mode at the moment. Good tech is being beaten by great marketing. The hype must go away at some point, but who knows when.....
I'm pretty sure there will be so many better coins than bitcoin made in the next few years. But the network effect is seriously strong...

Yeah but if what you want is to get rich, many other coins are better, specially right now. It's not extremely hard for bitcoin to do a 2x for example but not that hard for the other coins, in fact some of them have a ton of potential still.

There is no other coin that can defeat bitcoin because bitcoin is a very useful crypto and people will not get as much benefit from other crypto as they get from bitcoin. Bitcoin is the best crypto in this world and it will not replaced by any other crypto very soon.

I think it can be real. Not right now, but in 2019-2020 maybe. Seems possible that some coin without scalability problem can replace bitcoin.

I don't think that the dominance will take long. In terms of price, it will be the higher, probably, due to its low supply but in terms of market capitalization, other altcoins will surpass it. Well, if core developers won't do anything with the problems they currently have, of course.

Bitcoin has proven that it is not interested in changing and is no longer a decentralized currency. I think that's why you see the huge run up in ripple. Obviously no one cares about what the original purpose of bitcoin was. They just want something with the word blockchain in it that is controlled by the banks.
