Post by: NaissuR on November 24, 2017, 08:44:09 PM
i see a lot of Fud about bittrex locking accounts.. here and in twitter
i checked half of the people in twitter that wrote "bittrex locking accounts" "respond to my ticket waiting 60 days"
and i saw that they dont have messages related to crypto, some of them dont have history at all

The tweet is "DDOS attack was detected and being mitigated right now. Sorry for the inconvenience."

the users that wrote the suspicious messages are :

only one that had some issues issues that were fixed

Didn't Bittrex have a history of locking accounts quite frequently and taking forever to respond to queries?

I don't really use them and when I do I've never had problems, but that's the impression that I got of them.

Bittrex is a shitty exchange buddy, if you are really looking to start trading, or if you are curious about it, dont join bittrex because you are going to get scammed in there.
A few days ago they closed my account with more than $300 inside, it was a shame because they locked my account without messaging me before, and it was something very shady.
They asked me for some selfies, verifications and my passport, obviously that i did not provide it to them, we dont know what the hell are they going to do with our ID's in a near future.

That was my initial thought as well. Bitcointalk is full of posts and threads about bittrex locking people's accounts. I constantly see new ones as well.

The problem is that it's easy for even one person to generate those sock puppets and then claim that all the complaints are fake. I've definitely seen several accounts from people that didn't appear fake, including some that had their accounts re-enabled. Bittrex also released a statement (https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002187632-Statement-on-disabled-accounts) which stated that  < 0.1% of accounts were affected. Both of these things suggest to me that the account locking debacle is real.

So, how much does 0.1% of accounts really represent? I've had multiple Bittrex accounts over the years, all of which are empty now. Are they including my empty accounts in their calculation? Because everyone who complains about having their account disabled had money in their account. IMO, more people are/were probably affected than the exchange suggested.
