I wonder how ripple will grow in 2018

why should it grow at all?

Nobody uses Ripple. The original idea was that the ripple network would be a sort of peer-to-peer exchange, where people could move money between themselves or from Ripple to a normal exchange like Bitstamp using a gateway. (At that time there were only three exchanges, MtGox, Bitstamp and BTC-E). Then bitstamp removed their gateway, and in the meanwhile, normal exchanges started to pop up elsewhere, and people wondered why you needed Ripple with their extra fees.

That's still the case - why would you use Ripple? And if nobody is using it, it really needs to be valued much much lower.

is not impossible ripple coin can growing more at 2018, its not just about ripple coin all altcoin have chances, ripple can growing fast at 2018 if marketing ripple using right strategy to get investors. so its make value ripple growing up

No, it will not grow fantastically. And why should it happen? It will slowly go up (as I understand it). I do not think it will have any pumps or dumps as the more expensive cryptos have.

There are many predictions for Ripple, but the most accurate prediction would be that it will rise to $1 by early next year.
Ripple reaching $5 is quite unreal and seems impossible right now, but in the future it is possible that Ripple can achieve that "ultimate" goal.

Ripple is being adopted and used by banks all over the world and this seems to be its niche. On one hand, this is good for the project because it means Ripple has a real value, has demand and future. On the other hand, being the "coin of the banks" it makes crypto-community doesn´t have much sympathy for it.

 If you talk about its price, it will not grow very much. However, it will stay a very stable altcoin, a very convenient stuff to deal with banks. Ripple must be kept in all our wallets s for sure!  :o

I don't think so, Ethereum is more popular than ripple and it is the leader of the Altcoin group. If I ever choose to invest in Altcoins then Ethereum will be the first thing to mind.

Ripple neither has a headstart like bitcoin and Ethereum (sidechain, smart contract field) nor is technologically advanced than new generation coins and tokens.

I agree, ripple is belongs to the top Cryptocurrency due to it's market cap value but a single token priced very low, lower than a buck. But ripple has indeed a stable value unlike other Altcoins.

When ripple is launched it really attracts lots of potential holders and more people decided to buy lots of xrp to hodl in long run but unfortunately as time passes, ripple developers had been become silent and so people forgot about this coin and not buying anymore so I guess it would not grow next year unless devs would make an action.

In the summer walking article as the founder XRP dispersed the cost in tokens xrp. Completely speculative growth was. He was able to throw off their tokens.

Speculations amd opinions vary from people to people. But in my honest opinion, i do not see that much potential in ripple to go up in price that fast. Not saying it wilo fail though. But a slower pace is what i think is more logical.

ripple will have a good future, but to be a big coin I think there are still many considerations and a lot of time process that is lived. but always optimistic to believe that ripple coins will be very good in the future.

Scams never go this high. There is something that is liked by the people and most probably it's theme is the one that attracts the community towards it.
But right now it is in the list of one the most likely coins. There is a great number of people buying it and I am sure it's not for fun.
Because it ranks number four in the list of cryptocurrency when it comes to market cap. Ripple has a market cap of $9.67 Billion. It worths a lot.

yes i believe in ripple but seems like the value is stagnant and didnt grow as i expected. i do think ripple not good for short investment. but for long i would expect less dont think it will be big in 2018. I rather choose ethereum rather than ripple.

I don't think that this will be the year of ripple, I think it will probably be more of the same with relatively slow growth compared to many of its competitors. I hope I am wrong but I think ripple could be reaching the end of the line.

I'm convinced that Ripple (and XRP) will be huge. It is a question of when. 2018 is certainly possible. Ripple is a very different project to everything else in crypto, but its potential is vast. When you look at the problem they are trying to solve, and the solution they have developed, you've just got to be impressed. For a long time it has been clear that Ripple the company will be hugely successful, but there was less certainty about this being reflected in XRP price. However Ripple have really made XRP the focus this year, and for any bank that adopts the tech, XRP adoption is the logical next step as this introduces another level of cost savings.

I know there are a lot of doubters, and I understand this from an ideological perspective, as Ripple isn't really true crypto. But I don't understand it when people say that Ripple won't be huge - just look at what they are doing!

In 6 months recently, Ripple price had a huge fluctuation. It did not grow up. Therefore, it is hard to say that Ripple can go up in 2018.

Ripple will have a good future but seems like the value is stagnant and did not grow as i expected. I think ripple goods for long term investment. 

When I look at the Ripple's marketcap I see it is really high. But opposite to it's marketcap It's price rising extremely slow. Something is really wrong with Ripple. It's been really long time that still people waiting for a break point of it's price but nothing. Not even 1usd. So I stay away from Ripple.

stay away from centrlised coins. ripple , unlimited coins , centralized, bank representatives, oh no, that is not a cryptocurrency in the concept of satoshi nakamoto. it is crypto capitalists becuase it is supported by bankers and capitalists. you will earn nothing invest in it. unlimited coins no value at all.

Well ripple can go go big in 2018 but many people think that ripple isn't exactly a crypto currency as it is unlimited in amount and also it is centralised coin therefore many people doubt ripple because unlimited coins usually doesn't usually go big.But it's price has been stable for a while and has being very slowly increasing so it can be good for long term investment.

It isn't unlimited in amount, there is a fixed maximum supply already.

As for long term I don't really believe in it, their protocol has already shown flaws and the only reason it is doing well is because it came in early on. Ultimately it's doomed to fail.

The question is, the reason should be valid to increase. Because if it is only for pump and dump this will not going to work again. and morever, it should have a new exciting announcement to their community investors by next year which is 2018.

Ripple team is working really hard making partnerships and other agreements. They will become the blockchain of Big corporations and Banks. I do not know if this will be good or bad for the crypto environment. But the price will explode. Will still be top 5 with a market valuation of at least 40bi

need more year to reach $10 because we are just in low than $1 so I think we need more time to reach even for just $1. but ripple has a chance to increase like another coin and I think ripple has got support from many people so lets we see what will happen in 2018. and like other coins, ripple now is at top ten coinmarketcap so the price will be increasing soon.

My prediction is that Ripples value will slowly decrease over the year just like it does since May. I'm happy to see that. That means more funds for real project that will change the world with their technologys not help out the corrupt banking sector.

I want to believe in it. I am the holder of the ripple. If large players will invest money in crypto-currencies in 2018, then they can make x2-x3 for any crypto currency of the top-10 in several deals. If this happens, the ripple will be one of the first, in my deep conviction.

Ripple price will reach the 1USD at the next year. This is the opinion of most experts. I am sure it wouldn’t become lower so you can invest in it. Ripple is nice currency and unique in some extent.

Why do you sound like that KingScorpio? The growth of every coin is always with joy to both the coin developers and the holders of the coin. To every trader, they are all happy for the growth in the bitcoin price, but in some way, the consistent fall in the price of altcoins is also a loss of fortune.

personally I'd be waiting to 2019 to see any significant results from my investments. Next year will see ripple implemented to a much greater extent, however in 2019 it will be under full momentum.

It will not become the biggest coin. The bank and cryptocurrency world connection provides a cool stability for this altcoin, but it will be very inconvenient if Ripple costs too much. It will go up, but steadily, and do not jump to the Moon. IMHO

Trading Volume of XRP is nowhere close to the most popular cryptocurrencies, BTC and ETH. Trading volume is expected to grow in 2018, and a rise in speculative activity on the Ripple cryptocurrency can even raise its prices to $2-$5 mark as well.

It depends on what Banks wants to do with Ripples technology. Ripple is making Blockchain mainstream.

I honestly think that the cryptocurrency is not going to be worth very much in the future. And not because Ripple is going to be unsuccessfully… I believe it will. It’s because XRP has very little value when their competitors can offer the same exact services without the need for a native asset.

Ripple’s core competition are the new breed of ‘permissioned’ blockchains that have been developed by Hyperledger, JP Morgan and R3 Corda. These blockchains do the same things as Ripple, offering to trade financial assets on the blockchain without high costs.

But what Ripple’s competitors realized was that they could offer transactions without any fees by utilizing identity management in their blockchain service. This makes sense, as even Ripple designed the concept of ‘Trust Lines’ so that banks would only work with organizations they had previous relationships with. The permissioned blockchains just took this a step further and focused only on these trusted relationships. Without the native asset, of course.

The problem with XRP is that it’s not enabling any new features, but adding an additional cost that the competition does not have.

I don’t believe that this will harm Ripple Labs in the short term. But if the cost of XRP keeps rising and banks have to pay more to use Ripple, Ripple Labs has the ability to give XRP away for free or flooding the market with XRP to bring the price down. After all, they do own a majority of the XRP available to the world and have the ability to use it as they please.

The reason they would devalue their own currency is because Ripple is competing to win the financial banking industry, not creating the highest market cap currency. Cheap XRP serves their organization much more than expensive XRP.

I agree with your opinion, I think ETH will keep the position as the biggest altcoin in 2018 since it has been accepted as the most used ICO payment coin.

I wish I had known about this before. In the spring I bought a lot of xrp. Six months I wait, when will the price increase for this altcoin. Apparently, it will take a long time to wait. I believe Ripple is a very strong altcoin. It's already being used by central banks around the world for it's technology. It's a coin that has potential and great capability and i strongly believe that it will rise above $1 in 2018.

I think not. There are way too many coins with great potential and lower supply that will make much more in return for their investors. Ripple had its times, at least thats what I think and now its time to pass on the next great coin.

I think Ripple is a good coin and its application looks promising, but I dont think it could be big that fast. At this time and even may be in 2018, people just involve to cryptocurrency for speculation, not much people looks at the real product/platform/applications.

It could have a big increase. I think an increase is coming as more banks are using this now, or at least testing it. There might be a bit of a snowball effect at some point where it just starts getting bigger and bigger.

Look the increasing of this coin in 2017, I do not think that it will become the biggest altcoin in 2018. The growth of IOTA, Litecoin, ETH or Monero are very surprised. One of them will be the biggest altcoin.

The price rise of XRP is really surprising, but we should know that XRP is not decentralized. XRP Labs may then make other decisions that are detrimental to ordinary investors simply because XRP is a centralized altcoin.

The point is what good would it be if ripple goes to 1 dollar in 2018. Look at LTC it got 5 times within 1 month and still going up. So I am still thinking of dumping ripple as it looks like a stagnant investment.

well said, and already come true. Ripple is heading for $5 be the end of Jan. Big players are involved and the ripple price is not so much in the same ecosystem as other coins regarding price variance against bitcoin.

Bigger projects aiming at the same target?  Please share which projects are farther along and more capable than Ripple of actually pulling off the internet of value?  This is THE BIGGEST PROBLEM we face as a global economy to the tune of a quadrillion dollars a year.  Who do you anticipate will pull this off besides Ripple?  They offer everyone, not just banks, the ability to send money anywhere nearly instantly for almost no fees.  Its secure AND DECENTRALIZED.  Yes, thats correct, they are decentralized despite all the misinformation here.  Those within Ripple who hold large amounts of XRP aren't permitted to "dump" them on the market.  They have restrictions in place to keep the currency stable.

ripple has grown beyond proportions atm. If you look at the supply you can calculate the mcap of ripple-it is outrageous. But the coinbase listing rumour will push the price even higher, and if it gets listed there , well then the sky ( 10usd ) is the limit.

When ripple cost was 0,20$ i was sure it is overrated. But now it is 3,17$... And it is not even blockchain! It is the same as Paypal! Why should it grow? I think the dump is coming.

some people dont learn, and it looks like you are one of them. Mined/pre-mined, centralised/decentralised, always arguments. Block chain is here to stay, it has many forms and variances now days, people need to get used to that. Many old timers here cant get past and move with the times. A successful project is a successful project, dont be blinded by fud and hate being unable to grow and accept what is evolving around you.
I have been interested in crypto since mining in 2012, I've adapted, ignored fud like yours and motored on, and well, lets just say im doing well for it.

I don't think so, and, frankly speaking, neither I hope so. Best candidates for this role, beyond Ethereum of course, are Stellar and Neo. We'll see who will win the race. :)

Ripple just start pumping and its unpredictable for us to  say that this would be the next biggest alt but there's really possibilities that it can happen in fact all alts has the chance to hif the market this 2018 especially now that some countries really support adaptation of digital currencies others even planning to move into crypto economy

I think, as for the pumps that are happening in ripple, this year it will pump more, eventhough that it won't be the biggest alternate cryptocurrency for this year, I will always hope for it to be always on the top 10 alts for every year. That it will continue to pump.

i love how competitive ethereum whales are when it comes to their market cap rankings. they have always been like this. their main moto for pumping ETH have always been this #2 market cap and each time any coin threatened that position they pumped it even harder.

the first one this last year was DASH that they were competing with but the DASH pumpers ran out of money faster than the ether guys. now it is Ripple pumpers. i am so excited to see who will win this race and at the same time i am enjoying the pump profits they are giving me EZ 8)

The Ripple coin could have a fixed literal value of 1 and still work. Where the true value is, is not the so called coin, but with the Ripple app and the transaction fees it can generate. Everything else is just pure profits for the Ripple company as the logical value of the coin inflates, under the guise of a crypto currency.

I still suspect that we are witnessing just another massive pump and dump operation - I don't think the price will stay at these heights for long...

I think the ripple coin (XRP) does not represent any value at all and exists separately from ripple technology, which brings progress to the banking sector! Therefore, this coin is just for speculation or as a means of accumulation, no more.

I think it will grow. lots of good news in Q1 will come into play.
