Title: Signed message from Poloniex?
Post by: jara on November 25, 2017, 05:42:04 PM
Hi,

I was asked by Bittrex to send a signed message from some previously used wallet... and in my case I only sent something from Poloniex to there....

Can please someone tell me if it´s possible to send this signed message (deposit with some specific message) from Poloniex?

Thanks a lot!!

Unfortunately that's not possible. You won't be able to sign a message from an address owned by Poloniex.

No, I don’t think so that you can get a signed address from Poloniex it will be against their law or maybe by that there security will get compromised maybe you can email them and tell your position maybe they can guide in a much better way?

Poloniex support is already terrible, even after you wait a month for a response, all you're going to hear is "no".

I think it's unlikely that Poloniex or any other exchange will do it. May I ask why does Bittrex need a sign message from you? All I know is the enhanced verification. Some Bittrex users (if not all) are definitely in trouble of taking back their coins.

Don't you really use any other coin wallet?

To be honest i haven't used Poloniex ever but my suggestion is did you contact their support about this? The only reason that i know why they have to send you a signed message because they might think your account was compromised and they just wanted to prove you are really the owner. You must have a 2FA verification so that it won't happen again.

I saw some guys a few weeks or maybe a month ago?? They claim that they got a signed message from poloniex after contacting their support. I don't know if its legit maybe you should also try it. Its better to try as many options as you can although this doesn't guarantee anything considering that poloniex's support is as slow as turtle. Just try to make it as concise as possible, don't make it too long it must be easy to understand and should be followed by proofs e.g. screenshots

You can also try explaining your situation on bittrex. Include a proof that this certain address belongs to your poloniex account like a screenshot maybe. Just censored the unnecessary sensitive information/s.

Why bittrex asks you to sign a message? Is there an issue with your bittrex account? I have never heard similar case from any other exchanges who asks their users to do sign a message from  previously used wallet for your deposit. Sounds strange for me to honest, are you being asked this to verify that you are real owner of your account?

Unfortunately, that's not going to happen. I don't believe they do this for customers; they simply can't at their scale. And it would probably introduce security holes into their protocols if they did this for customers using their hot wallet. You can try contacting Poloniex, but you'll probably wait a month just to have them say they won't do it.

Would you mind saying why they asked for this? Did they disable your account?
