Title: Anyone had good luck with Cablesaurus PCI to PCI-E risers?
Post by: AngelusWebDesign on June 30, 2011, 07:34:09 AM
They sure look inviting, but I'd like to know if anyone's had any personal experience with them. Cablesaurus hasn't had them for much more than a couple weeks or so, so it's a pretty new item.

Do they work on old & new motherboards? Does the BIOS ever have a problem with multiple video cards on a single motherboard (talking about older motherboards here, in the days before Crossfire)

What kind of compatibility do these things have? 100% -- 90% -- 50%?

Thanks,

Matthew

You kidding me :O

Read the whole thread, and look at all the positive feedback lmao :P Ordered 3 for myself, 2 of them were wrong items, but Cablesaurus replaced them easily and quickly, AMAZING service.

I don't think motherboards have anything to do with it, only the OS.

Linux can handle up to 8 gpus, Windows up to 4. However, with the new 11.6 drivers, Windows can also go to 8 I think.

What do you mean by compatibility? I'm gonna say 100% because they work on all cards?

*facepalm

Woops I realized that you said PCI to PCI-e, and not PCI-e to PCI-e. :(

Who knows man? We are all doomed you should be selling GPUs instead of buying PCI adapters.

Who said we should all be selling our GPUs?

I'd love for you to provide a link/quote where I said that.

Seriously though, you can't produce a single one.
