It's a completely unregulated market, so you can do whatever you want.

You can. But the commissions on the trades make it very hard to 'actively' day trade without a huge margin. If you skip the exchange it'll be easier. But that's more the deal with.
I thought about playing the market a bit with an extra 5k$ I had. But after doing the math. It's not worth my time. And the downward volatility isn't worth the risk. The price seems to have found an upward bounds (~$17).

I do it ... But with the markets not moving very much ... It really makes it hard to overcome the commission .... so far I'm up 6%

What's that mean? You want to sell a bunch of $17.25 calls to me cheap?

NO, Volume is too low.  A Majority of tiny players.

No significant size can be moved, thus no significant profits.

-long time trader in many markets.

I put $100 to day trade for fun.  I am up to ..... about $100.  So no profit.  :(  It's been fun, tho.  These last few days have been dull because of little price movement.

However, I had a trade nullified by the MtGox rollback, so I have no trade fees for the next month.  .001 profit here I come!  ;D

Bitcoin options? The only place I know of is bitoption.org, and their volume is really, really low right now.
