Title: cgminer closing
Post by: RarityBit on June 30, 2013, 02:57:08 PM
Once I type in my miner information, or do so via a batch file, cgminer immediately closes without so much as giving an explanation why. What's going wrong? Is the worker password the same as my main login password?

I've only seen this when the worker can't login. Depending on the pool, no the password is not the same.

Could be multiple reasons, but usually its username/password related, pool address is incorrect, or it does not detect any devices (i.e. you dont have the drivers installed).

could be some mistyped command, missing space in batch command etc.
just add a "pause" to the batch to see the output

Start it from a command prompt rather than a batch file and you'll see something...

Run the .exe directly (or make a shortcut to it)

Enter your particulars as it guides you to setup the miner.

Press "S" --> "W" and then "ENTER" to save the default named config file.

Then when you want to mine just run the exe and it will load the config file.

You can either modify the config file while the miner is closed, or you can use the GUI prompts change settings (you have to do the save step though).

If you want to put one of the command line arguments into the config file... just insert it as a new line following the formatting of the others in there.
