If you want an altcoin to trade, I suggest you pick a high volume coin like Ethereum. This will suit your needs especially since you mentioned you wanted to do short term trading. ETH's price easily fluctuate and with the right timing you should be more than able to make a decent profit. It is even better now because it is in an uptrend. Good luck!

we all know how good is ethereum in terms of it and this is a good altcoin to choose also and you really know the positive way of it so better to choose it but if you are looking beside of the altcoin why dont you try to take some other altcoin like Ripple , monero and neo coins they are in a good way also and in the top 10 coins that are good in trading.

i suggest with you mate if you want to invest in trading in you are looking for the altcoin to pick up to trade i think you need to choose to your own decision what is the best pick for you, for me my best pick up to trade neo and the new one trend in the marketcap strig.

it depens on the price of coin that you want to trade.first do a small research on the perticular coin and then see how the price of the coin changes.you can get help from the coinmarketcap website.

Well ltc would be a good choice it has some risks involved i had bought mine at $75 and sold couple at $86 the price increased to $90 and fell again some are suggesting it will bypass $100. There is risk of falling as well.
Another coin would be omg it is good for holding short term as well as for long term , entry zone should have been $8.4-$8.6 but looks like the price is surging towards the $9 mark you can buy now and sell for a 10% profit which is $9 in short run or for $12 in long run.

Isn't eth really risky this looks like a nice pump and since reaching it's highest point it got dumped again eventually the price can reach $500 which doesn't make it worth to risk in short term for a profit as low as $20.

A coin having big volume doesn't mean it can be profitable see bch or btg who trades with that shit to make profit it simply get's pumped and dumped.

- If you want to make short term trades and profit with it than only buy/sell top 20 coins by marketcap.
- For long term investment, buy alts with low marketcap and very low total circulating supply.
- Nobody can give you names of coin that is likely to get pumped soon, you have to invest in multiple undervalued coin and wait for some good pump in its price.

Etherium is really booming these past month and based on the etherium's market price movement, it is clearly shown that it is having the peak price for the time.

Any coin that has potential is worth trading. Ethereum can be traded easily, but coins like Ripple that have a slower pace you will need to be more patient with that one.

Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash to trade. Or Ripple once it goes higher in value.

In some cases it's best to invest for short term and profit from those small bursts or spikes as we may call them.
There are coins that are known to do that. You will need to do some research and check Altcoin patterns and see which ones do spike.
There was a case recently (in November 2017), where Ripple spiked 32% within 3mins. If you had an investment with Ripple when that happened you would of profited nicely. But as said before, research is needed to spot these types of Altcoins.

Deep Onion. they have improved there forum and people now need onions to participate so the demand is increasing faster than btc is rising. They also recently got listed on cryptopia so they have a much higher volume than previously. People now need to hold there onions to gain more from the airdrops so it's going to keep the price high for at least 6 more months. look at some graphs and see what you think.

Altcoins that are I recommend are Ethereum, Waves, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Ripple and Neo, these are good for investing and trading.

there a lot of alt  coin running.few of them are very goo to trade.in my opinion eth,btc and waves can be profitable to trade.but do some research before trading.in most cases trading is a bit risky work.so be careful.

you better don't trade at the first place, because according to your question it can easily be concluded that you have no idea how to trade. Altcoins are extremely volatile which means they are very easily manipulated and their value changes really fast. Someone without a lot of experience might get rekt in an instant, and that is what usually happens. If you want to trade coins why not trade at least BTC or ETH which are relatively more stable, the rest of the altcoins are fluctuating way too much for you to forecast any movement. It's really difficult. Before you get into crypto you could start trading on the FOREX market and make sure you understand first the traditional dynamics and technical analysis before moving to the crypto one's (which are more dangerous).

Ripple is really moving at a slow pace inspite of so many banks supporting it and testing as it can be used for the transfer of the money. From last couple of days we are seeing some good movement in the price, but last 6 months more of less its being very stable and this is away form the volatility that btc provides to the investors. So for long term and those who cannot take much risk this coin is good for them.

maybe etherium can if you have a lot of money for you invest altcoin this is currently very suitable.

There are several altcoinsa good for commerce, however I advise you to invest one that already has a strong potential. Some of the altcoins that have been on the market for a long time are: ETH, DASH, XMR, LITECOIN and a new one that I believe has a lot of potential is WAVES. All these currencies already have a value formed, so the value of them only tends to grow so you can make good profits without running the risk of taking losses.

But take it easy be aware that at one time or another their value may fall, if I were you I would invest half of the money in Altcoins, and leave the other half in Bitcoin, because you have less chance of losing money.

I agree, just pick ethereum just trade that altcoin if you want to short trade only it will reach 500 usd soon maybe in this month or in december just sell it right away if ethereum reach 500 usd.

I think Substratum would be a good choice. It gets a lot of attention now as governments try to control Internet. But with Substratum they won't be able to since everything will be decentralized.

I think it is the ethereum time so it is better to choose ethereum for trading because the ethereum price also keeps increasing so people are willing to buy ethereum soon so you can make good profits.

i think ripple and minex are the best nowaday for shortterm Investment....

In my view, Stellar Lumen, Paypie and OmiseGo are good coin for short-term investment. They have a good development in 2107. You will be not regret if choosing them

For short term trading, I suggest you to check the events calendar and follow the Altcoin with big news coming up. The altcoin price usually rise in such cases.

You have to do your own research before investing. My recommendation will be ETC for now.

I do not know if someone will say any good thing. But whether you say or not, you have to take a decision on your own. Market analysis will be done.

Trust me and go for any top notch coin like Ethereum or Litecoin. After this sudden upsurge of bitcoin these top alts are the next to boom. Stratis and Waves now they start to go the moon lol :) u can invest to Zcash still didnt reach in very high price in this period, also Pivx and Ark have big potential..

Waves prices already tested dip levels below 3$ and smart money already invested huge amounts. Better to wait for correction on cryptocurrencies market and buy both stratis and waves.

If i were you i'd certainly wait for the next hard fork to occur . A new cryptocurrency derived from bitcoin will appear and the pump and dump game will be at it's hottest . That particular coin will experience a huge increase in market cap , trading and transactions and it value will rise overnight .
So you should be ready for it , get whatever money you could gather and wait for the right moment .
Another alternative would be Ethereum , it's fluctuations rhythm are actually on the rise and you should make good money out of it since it's trading is much easier and profitable especially on the short term .

Trading is much mor complicated its not picking candy to buy and sell,you need technical and fundamental analysis.

Thanks for a nice suggestion it seems you like to hold this altcoin now for a long run and just wait for another fork comes. I'm just holding this cheap coins now it because affordable and I think have potential to grown because with the high volume in crypto market.

I think this does not really matter which is better to pick. If you know technical analysis well enough and basics of fundamental analysis you will be able to predict price development pretty accurate for any coin. It to say about long term investment, I would choose XRP and SC, and of course always 40% of you bank in BTC.

Each altcoins has its own advocacy on there different bounty campaigns. Its really hard to determine which altcoins to pick as the best for trading due to there different value which fluctuates from time to time. Most traders trying to figure out and analyze which is the best altcoin by monitoring its value on the trading sites. if you visit on bittrex, you can see that there is many altcoin that you can pick up to trade and you can trade every day. you can find many potential altcoins and after you research, I am sure that you can find at least 2 coins that will give you profit. you can do trade btc pair altcoin with easy and you can buy at the low price, sell it at the high price. you need to check the volume of each coin so you can have data to analyze and you can determine the price you want to buy.

I like to vote for ETH and Dash. I feel that ETH is still under-rated and will surely show its real potential in coming days. And Dash, a coin with lightning fast transaction confirmations is the real practical solution to make any crypto work for day to day transfers for buying daily use stuff. I see ETH at $700 and dash $.35 in a short time spam of say less than 2 months.

Minexcoin is hot right now. Boscoin on demand OTC trades. Neo and Omg has big demand. I would stick with Minexcoin because it's rising more and more every day. You can also park some coins and make steady gain.

You should find out on your own too, what altcoins are even worth keeping, etxc... but I recommend you these: Ethereum, ethereum classic, Monero, Litecoin, Dash, Bitcoincash, and when the % is high, you just trade about 10-50% of your coint to bitcoin, and when it's all down buy back even more :)

You should wait for some bloody dips all over the market, after that you should pick up stratis or some other good coins to make a nice and fast profit.

You can research on your own to see which altcoin to pick but if you really need to and don't think that you can trust your own judgments then stick to the popular ones like ethereum/ripple/dash.

So for short term investments I am assuming you want to be a day trader or at least sell out after a week and make a profit. If so you have to be watching the exchanges daily. Of course you have to consider the liquidation part. In my country, the only way you can cash out cryptocurrencies is by converting it first to bitcoin. So if I do this trading investment, ultimately I have to invest in an altcoin that would rise in value against bitcoin so I can buy more bitcoins and cash it out to fiat.

I guess Cardano (ADA) is the best altcoin to trade right now for short term since this coin listed on Bitrex the volume in 24 Hours pumped. This is good to take advantage of this coin.

Do not limit yourself with one, two or even three altcoins. The best variant to trade and always be in a profit is holding at least ten cryptos. Monitor their ups and downs and take the decisions basing on it. Try Cardano, NEO, NEM, Monero and Ripple at least.

I still like ETHEREUM the most. I understand your point about Bitcoin and its a good thing you choose. But it quite unrealistic to make a quick gain on Altcoin on a short term. But as you have decided, you might want to give it try, but just don't get your hopes high. The Altcoin that has good potential of making high hits are Ethereum, Monero, and Bitcoin Cash. Though for Bitcoin Cash, you might have a double mind on this, just make sure you do your research.
