Bitcoin rally  today is huge and it must end at some point.

Now I want to swap part of bitcoins into alts with only one goal  - to gain bitcoin value. What do you think? What alts will raise in bitcoin price in next days if bitcoin begin to fall in dollar value?

I would say that it is completely unreasonable to exchange bitokoyn for altkoins during the period of sharp increase in the bitcoin rate. It is possible to partially make such an exchange when bitkoyn will detect clear signs of his fall, but not now. Until the middle of December, that is, until the next fork bit, this should definitely not be done. If you look into which altcoyins are best to invest, then here is the only leader in this respect is the ethereum. Also, monero, litecoin, ripple are not bad at all. Separately, it is worth mentioning bitcoin cash, which is now growing quite well and has all the necessary technological capabilities to grow in the future.

In my opinion i think the best way to do my friend is hold the bitcoin because there's a possibility that bitcoin price will go $10000

I just bought the price of alts now because we had a friend to swap in etherdelta for alts barely we got eth, our alts were 600 alts I do not know why we got it, okay we just made a mistake in selling alts If any of you know I know how much the 600alts could possibly be, I'll help you for it because we lost or did not do that eth.

I have tried it before, but didn't worked for me. its really hard to predict which one will go up, its kinda gambling, better stay with btc :)

Holding Bitcoin isn't always a clever move and adjusting you portfolio into 80% Bitcoin and 20% Altcoins because whenever Bitcoin will have a sudden dump then you still got Altcoins that will save you.
And I prefer Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum and other top Altcoins will occupy that 20% Altcoins.

However it is unclear right now what effects that this eventual dump that will occur will have on alts. It could definitely lift altcoins up, basically the opposite effect that the bitcoin pump has done to altcoins yesterday and today, but it could also bring altcoins down with it.

Alts are indeed undervalued right now and whenever something is undervalued, eventually it will recover.

A suggestion would be to leave your initial investment into Bitcoin, or leave more than that, then invest in Altcoins.
If you invest in Altcoins, look at Ethereum as its the 2nd strongest coin right now, and its on a great path - passing $500 in value.

I recommend you do not swap but HODL both these coins. They are both strong coins and have great potential for long term investments.

If Bitcoin breaks the 10K, it will be just momentarily. I don't think it will stay in the 10K area for long (at least not in 2017), Then if the times came when bitcoin had a correction I believe the money will flow onto altcoins.

Bitcoin is promising and can be more than $1000 in 2018 so I guess, hold your bitcoin or if you like taking risk, spend 40% to the promising coins like ETH, etc.

Holding your bitcoin will be the best thing to do now as BTC price is gaining more speed. The price will fall when there is a correction or news in the market. When the price falls you could sell your bitcoins and wait for it to hit the bottom. Buy more BTC from the dip to get a nice profit when it reaches high again. Don't trust on alts as they will be bleeding as BTC goes up again. Convert the BTC to USDT when btc starts falling.

i think bitcoin price will increase upto 10000$ .it is a high time to  hold bitcoin to get huge profit.so no need to change bitcoin to other coin.just hold the coin to get a good profit.

If you have invested in Bitcoin in the past, do not trade those but HODL longer.

Uhm, sir. I'm sorry but I can't see the point of trading your btc to alts. Btc is the one who is increasing rapidly and might reach $10k before 2018 ends, so the best move is probably hold your btc. If you're still considering tho, you can invest in eth. Eth is keeping up with the increase, hopefully it will reach $600 before the end of december, who knows!

I think to hold your bitcoin is better choice. You can get a lot of money later.

Swapping Bitcoin to alts is highly unrealistic approach at the current scenario; wait until you expect a major drop and when alts are completely bleeding to lowest value. When Bitcoin is rising with a growth of 1000 USD per day, it is not profitable to trade Bitcoin for any other coin. The price is highly unpredictable at current stage, where 10k was estimated near Christmas it seems, that for Bitcoin user Christmas has already arrived early. All speculations about price are failing and at such stage investing alt can be highly risky.

swap all of your altcoin to bitcoin is good and hold them much longer will get good profit but increasing price not only dominated by bitcoin only and there was several altcoin too already rise up such as ETH or even Doge and bitcoin cash also good to consider as your trading options and for me i just following the trend and still concerned to bitcoin and altcoins

The price of bitcoins has been rising today, and if the price stabilizes then it must be altcoin's turn to rise, so a few more than the rise.

If you look carefully alts are also rising recently, some of them with much larger gains than bitcoin, so although what you are saying is common, is not what is happening right now. If you look to coinmarketcap, almost every coin is on green, and this has been happening for the last 2 or 3 days. Given this, I don't really know in what alt you should try to invest because we might see a correction on every coin, and not just bitcoin. I wouldn't do anything right now if I were you.

Never swap Bitcoin. HODL!

if you have more Bitcoin and want to invest in an Altcoin, then take a small portion and invest that in Ethereum.

I made a small swap yesterday for ETC, BHC and ETH and now I quit those trades. I've managed to make some profit in Bitcoin mainly because of ETC price increase in past ours.

I must admit - it is risky but adrenaline is adrenaline :)

Theres no one can tell unless there is posted fundamentals you will know what coin will pump,technical analysis for me is applicable for a short time.

I am not sure it is a good idea. First you should be sure that rally is over. Because as soon as that rally continues, altcoin prices will not be able to raise. Whenever bitcoin price is enough for the whales they wll start to exchange to altcoins so altcoins will go to bullish trend.

I still not see any proof that bitcoin will stop increase price. Still very bullish when buying altcoin for now.

"The rally has to end" indeed but I don't think it would be ending so soon . With such hike in the bitcoin price it will not be a very economical and smart move to invest in bitcoin . Alt coins are not able to get  recovered from the price shooting of Bitcoin  . With major investments and fund raising being done in Bitcioin  Alt coin is loosing its charm and market value . According to me , this might be the worst time to invest into alt coins in exchange of bitcoin .
If Bitcoin is already giving exceptional profit by holding then why take the risk of investing in some alts . There might be some Alt coins with pretty good coin base but none of them is near Bitcoin at the moment . Waiting for the best time to do so is the only approach to deal with it.

Normally this logic is sound, but right now most alts are on the up as well and so the likelihood is they will also fall if bitcoin falls. If you're set on swapping to alts then I would go for XRP, it hasn't had a big pump like most of the other major alts.

If you can handle the stress, you can make swaps between bitcoin and altcoins, but I personally can't handle this and I never do swap beteeen bitcoins and altcoins.

If bitcoin begins to fall in dollar value, it will also force altcoins to fall in dollar value. Noone surely understands this process. Every other altcoin is tied hard to bitcoin so there isn't anything to gain from alts while bitcoin drops.

I suggest never swap Bitcoin for Altcoin! I recommend you trade and invest in Altcoins whilst having Bitcoin too!

That is an impractical move right now. Bitcoins are continuously moving upwards and you can lose a sure profit from it. That is free coins you know.
Maybe after the big pumps and prices are about to be stable, you can diversify but never swap all to alts. I say hodl too.

You are partly right — you can do it, but do not exchange all of your Bitcoins for altcoins.  Leave in your wallet your BTC and do not touch the currency. Buy ETH, Cardano, NEO and some minor alts to trade and make profit.

Now such an unpredictable crypto-currency market! I'm afraid ,that the prices for altcoins will fly down if the bitcoin price goes down, as many will want to buy bitcoin at a cheaper price.

I would hold Bitcoin for a while and I would refrain from this procedure until the new year. Then I would watch BTC's actions and I think I would soon turn him into Altcoins.

If I have a Bitcoin, I will keep my Bitcoin without having to switch to Altcoin. Because in some times this Bitcoin is safer to hold. The price is rising rapidly enough for profit without having to trade Altcoin.

You are correct. It is best to save in bitcoin and hold it.This is my mistake several months ago before the halving. I park my bitcoin to some alts and when bitcoin becomes bullish all alts in red. I lost much in bitcoin value which I regret.

If i were you i will never swap my BTC to altcoins because BTC is the most valuable coin in the market and i think that its value will rise up and no altcoins will ever catch up with btc or even overtake on it.

Yes, in November of last year bitcoin needed to be kept and advice was given by the faithful. Then, in December, bitcoin started up to 20,000 dollars, it was a good sight. Now, before the New Year, altcoins have grown quite well in price and among them, first of all, ethereum, whose value has grown to 1223 dollars. It seems to me that this will stop the alts, since further bitcoin should continue to grow, if its shortcomings associated with the slowness and high cost of transactions do not interfere.

Now that the Bitcoin value has dipped in 2018, I think the other way round should be done. Alts should be switched for Bitcoin especially since the altcoin run seems to be at its end. Hopefully this is the right decision though haha.

I still think that this is a sensible choice if you have picked out some high quality and good potential alt coins. I have experienced several alt coins growing in value by between 500 and 900% in the past couple of months. I personally don't see Bitcoin growing in value by more than 100% this year.

Bitcoin Gold is a good swap, since it's correlated with bitcoin and mean reversion effect could occur, like the rally in BCH

I think it's better to buy altcoins on the growth of bitcoin. Then you can buy altcoins at the best prices. I hold 50% of the capital in bitcoins and for this amount I buy altcoins when their price goes down. The other 50% are in altcoins and these altcoins I sell on their growth and so I earn bitcoins.

If you are just getting into it then buy some alts, but do research about them first, you need to trust the company and the people who are in the project. Do not fall for FUD spreaders after the coin is booming. ;D :D

It makes no sense to sell any reasonable amount of bitcoin in order to buy alts.  The thing is that it is still growing,  no matter what we may predict. I'd rather sell some small amount of btc if I lacked risk in my life:)

In my case if you're going to convert your Bitcoin into Altcoin it should be you're sure that you invested a good coin otherwise you'll regret, but in my case I sold my Bitcoin and invest it into Oyster, and I'm very lucky as it turned $4 from $0.0005 just in two months and according to rumors it will be soon spike $12 or more next week.

I do believe that some Altcoins were just on their low profile today but will soon skyrocket in the right time.
Bitcoin is the mother of cryptocurrencies but it's not actually the most expensive coin, they're some coins that are very expensive with a low market capital so they're not actually placed as the top Altcoins.
Somehow Ethereum could surpass Bitcoin's market capital anytime soon if Bitcoin drops while Ethereum pumps. But if not today, not this year but not forever.

In my case, I'm going to sell my Altcoins and convert it to Bitcoin and convert it to cash and that's what we do every time we're flushing out our digital money into local currency.

it is possible but unlikely, from existing coins maybe ETH can make BTC run for its money. But since BTC has such a low market cap it is hard to surpass it price wise.

Maybe it’ll be difficult because if the selling price of bitcoin drops it’ll automatically cause dip to other altcoin’s selling price. Because bitcoin is the head of the altcoin’s selling price. It’s better if you exchange it into 2nd or 3rd rank of altcoins below bitcoin’s selling price so it’ll keep the altcoin’s price if the bitcoin’s price drops.

The main amount of my money is invested in bitcoin, I think it is probably the most promising, but I still bought some altcoyins that can "shoot" over time. Therefore, I advise you to distribute funds on several fronts.

It's hard to say now, now bitcoin still has a very high demand, but altcoin also has a very good potential

If you already got some amount of bitcoins you can choose to swap them to alts. But even if you don't you won't lose much if you have patience as bitcoin would slowly regain and the value will go even further than what it was. You just need to have patience. Investing now can be really profitable too as it's price is pretty low currently. But, still invesing into altcoins/swapping bitcoins to altcoins might be a pretty good option as well, because there are really good altcoins like ethereum, so you'll just need to choose wisely.

Actually now shifting your BTC to Altcoins is a good idea. Once the market takes off suddenly, all coins will grow. You can have chances to make 1005 profit in many altcoins. for example ETH or NEO. People put high expectations on these two coins. Or else swap your BTC to USDT this is safe, and you will not get any loss.

I want to disagree with your plan because bitcoin is the most stable cryptocurrency in the market. You have to keep your bitcoin instead of altcoins. I personally diversify or trade altcoins to accumulate more bitcoin

Exactly what i think! BTC will not go down completely, but Altcoins will be more important in 2018 than ever before. At the moment the fees and confirmation times for BTC transactions are horrible and this will give new coins the chance to grow.

I would suggest you not to do that. Keep hold of any coins you have now. Don't sell any coin to buy any other coin. You would surely gain a lot more profit in coming months. Each coin is going to gain its own values. IF you look at the growth of all altcoins from Jan 2018, it has been so positive. So better hold on to your coins now.

That is a bad ideea if you ask me. Better hold of to bitcoin and try to buy the alts with some cash. In this way you don't have the risk to loose bitcoin and gain only in dollars. I saw that most of the coin wet up only in the $ mark but in the btc mark they went down.

No, you need to buy more bitcoins with cash right now. After then there will be next step of rally with raising of btc, and alts will dump even more than now and there will be your moment to buy alts with Bitcoin  :)

To buy some alts which has suffered more than Bitcoin in yesterday's demise could actually be a good idea. My favorite: little coins with limited cap which may soion get pumped and allow me to recover today's losses with BTC.

It is a good idea to put bitcoin in altcoin that making movement at the moment bitcoin flanctuate.But it is more risky to do this even on experienced traders because bitcoin is hard to predict

I would still to invest with bitcoin, though there might be better profit when investing on Alternative coins. Bitcoin may still double its price and its demand is still high on the market. With the current market and alts down, it's good to buy some. But don't go all the way. Buy in parts while it's going down. Then wait for it to go up.

I will talk about recent price, the price is very low and better you hold it for long term rather than you swap to altcoin beause most of altcoin also were dropping.

Bitcoin is the best Hodl at the moment. Having some Eth is second. Some time ago i wanted to sell most of my Alt position for those two but this is the way it goes in Crypto. Lets see how it evolves once it reaches 1 trillion.

It would be good if you did that days ago but now you had better hold you bitcoin and wait for its rising fir a new round. Now almost all the alts and bitcoin are dropping sharply, so wait for a new chance.

I think getting some altcoins is not a bad idea. But also keep some BTC. The hold the btc and trade with altcoins, or even hold those.

Most of traders that do the same thing (deal with different altcoins) get more profit than those guys, who invest only into Bitcoin. I might also swap some of my BTC into alts, picking the most promising ones, NEO, LEND, Waves etc.

it is the right way to multiply the bitcoin you have, do not forget to buy altcoin with the team and who has a very good project plan so that you do not get the wrong buy altcoin, altcoin will rise when bitcoin is stable.

It can be but not all maybe. I'm curious about altcoins but I haven't had fund yet. Swapping btc to alt is doable partly only. We must admit that it is still safe to have bitcoin. Having other crypto coins is not bad. Its also good to diversify your coins. Altcoin so far is also a promising investment to have higher value soon.

Maybe the good idea for now is to buy and hold both not just bitcoin or alts.  Cause as i see both cryptocurrency is good to hold on this moment or in this year . And swapping all your bitcoin to alts is not a good strategy i think.  Maybe you will miss the boat if bitcoin valued suddenly jump to the highest value again.  So for me much better to swap the rest of bitcoin to alts then hold both.

It is not necessarily a bad idea to to get some alts but i would recommend to always hold onto some of the bitcoin.
As for what alts you should buy, i think it would be best for you decide that and find which ones suit you. Can can see the top coins on coinmarketcap.

Swapping bitcoin to altcoin is always a question of the market sentiment and timing! If you use your high value bitcoin for shit altcoin, you may be making a very huge mistake in the long run. Bitcoin will always be valuable and maintain the largest part of market value.

Nope, this is bad idea though. I think swap between Bitcoin and alts does not give expected profit. Bitcoin always have good price trend and that impacts other alts, the prices of altcoins is based on the bitcoin trend, the prices sharply dip or rise as per bitcoin trend in the market.

You should reallocate some small share of your portfolio into underestimated altcoins.  The last year huge increase of bitcoin price will definitely move all other coins higher.

This depends on your choice of interest whether you have faith in Altcoin than Bitcoin, but there's other coins that can generate more profit for you than bitcoin, even though the price isn't up to bitcoin price you can still make more money from them, these coin includes Litecoin, Bitcoincash and others.

Yes it's much better to invest in altcoins. You have more greater chance to profit in altcoins than bitcoin. Bitcoin is very volatile. The sudden increase and decrease of bitcoin is very apart. Unlike in altcoins its not much apart. So the profit in altcoins has much more chance to gain profit. Many people also said that is good to invest in altcoins than bitcoin so i go with the majority.

I think that's sounds great because it's undeniably true that some altcoins right there are also very potential to grow and are even giving you profit the same as what you get in bitcoin. Making a research of these altcoin you wanted to invest is really necessary instead of just following what your heart dictates.

It's the best thing to do as I my Bitcoin that I got last year I invested it in Oyster Pearl PRL because it is one of the most underrated and undervalued Altcoin in the crypto market today.
Bitcoin is very expensive today so investing Altcoins will offer more and higher returns of investments than Bitcoin.

Yes of course but not all my bitcoin just half because i still believe in bitcoin but for now i want to try altcoin because some of them have potential and really good coin too. So it think having both of them are good because you can get have a lot of income also i think even the value of bitcoin is not the same like before it is still worth it to have it. I would not do that. Right now its obvious that altcoins depend on bitcoin, so when bitcoin go down, the other altcoins go down too. Right now the market is very low, but i believe it will raise very soon,possibly bitcoin will be very huge. Altcoins depends on bitcoin and when bitcoin goes down the other altcoins goes also goes down and that how the market works now. So I advice that if you convert your bitcoin to altcoins is just partial only of your bitcoin

I think it is good not to focus on one cryptocurrency, instead you can divide your investments into different coins and let them grow. If one fails, there's another one you can make money or give profits to you. Altcoins is another way to invest again in crypto market which I actually did these past few months. I gained lots of profits investing not only in bitcoin but in altcoins too especially in ETH, which is really good as an alternative to bitcoin. ETH has a potential growth in crypto market as being the best altcoin which has profitability and sustainability.

Normally either bitcoin is moving up or altcoins are in positive direction but not both.  Last few days are especial  in a way that both bitcoins and altcoins are moving up. i didn't see this trend before. convert my bitcoin to altcoin is my next plan but I think I still analyze each coin in the market to find the profitable coin and maybe I will choose ethereum to convert my bitcoin. but for now, I think it is better to stick with bitcoin because bitcoin will increase later and I think the time will come soon and I hope it will happen in the next weeks. the altcoin still increases and decrease and only a strong altcoin that could get up following bitcoin increase and I don't want to risk my money for buying too many altcoins.

I think getting some altcoins is not a bad idea. But also keep some BTC. The hold the btc and trade with altcoins, or even hold those.

I see the same thing as you and I think bitcoin price is always changing and I think he can get a nice profit by buying and selling bitcoin because the price can get down in anytime and then it's back to increase again. but I think if he wants to swap his bitcoin to altcoins, I think it is a good idea because there are many altcoins that potential to increase higher so he can choose one or two coins to buy and sell but don't forget to always analyze before you buy.

Altcoin so far is also a promising investment to have higher value soon.Swapping btc to alt is doable partly only. We must admit that it is still safe to have bitcoin. It is not necessarily a bad idea to to get some alts but i would recommend to always hold onto some of the bitcoin.

I guess you can trade you btc in the market place section where you can get tokens their directly from the individual but you must be carefull because there are lot of possibilt scammers out there. Well anyway you could use your btc to buy other crypto in the exchanger and there are many quite good exchanger for cryptocurrency. Just browse through google and google will answer that for you.

If we compare bitcoin technology with altcoins technology, we will choose altcoins because its new tech will fit to this world. But there lots of risk when invest in altcoins: the world denide to use that altcoins, fail project... So i think, hold bitcoin still better option and yours fund will be safe.

I earn Altcoins but I converted some of it into Bitcoin but not all of them because some of them has potential to grow like Dash, IOSToken, SXDT and EOS. As of now I am currently holding IOSToken and other tokens but I have plans to just hold them for long. Holding them until the time came when I need money is also the time I have to convert them into Bitcoin as it is more valuable and accepted in our local crypto exchanges.
