Title: BTC or BTG
Post by: rddsd7 on November 27, 2017, 05:23:24 AM
Hi all,

I received BTG from Bittrex as they promised (0.1002 BTG). I have a doubt... Both coins are increasing..
So what option would be better.
1. keep BTG as it is
2. Convert them to BTC

Convert it to Bitcoin, the last thing you want is to be exposed to a ton of shitcoins and Bitcoin forks (such as BCH, or BTG) where you have no clue the fate of the coin. It's not like we can really say much about Bitcoin, but at least we know that it is the REAL bitcoin.

Take your free Bitcoin and run, do as you please with that though. I sold off all of my BCH and plan on selling off any other fork to just convert to BTC and then to USD-- I'd advise doing the same if I were you.

BTC all the way BTG wont sustain its high value as it has lready had several setbacks and attacks and of course btc is growing at a much quicker rate right now!

I agree with the others. BTG is good for short term profits and is most probably bullish right now due to the rally by bitcoin. Once the rally stops, BTG will correct itself. Convert all your BTG to BTC as soon as possible in order to acquire big profits in the long run. 10k is around the corner and I predict that Bitcoin will reach the 50k mark within 2 years and this is completely possible.

You can hold it only when you expect somethin from BTG developers. If not, sell it away and get your precious bitcoin to be in the safe zone. Forks are not stable in price, the best is to get cash or bitcoin with them.

I think it's better to just keep BTG and do not consider it there maybe
wait until next year and may be sweet fruit just as bitcoin is increasing

Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) can be purchased from most major exchanges unlike the other currencies. Obviously, Bitcoin is the easiest to operate, so converting BTG to BTC would be the best desicion, i think so

Just transfer the coins into Bitcoin because the price of Bitcoin Gold won't remain at that stable price range.

With everybody dumping BTG, it is not a good time to sell now. It is best to wait for a pump in BTG and then sell it.

I would trust Bitcoin over Bitcoin Gold. However, it’s not a bad idea to diversify. For me personally I would prefer diversifying with other coins such as ETH, DASH, IOTA, or LTC.

Bitcoin Gold may have a future but my guess is that the only reason why the market cap is so high right now is because a lot of people hold Bitcoins so there is an equivalent amount of Bitcoin Gold that people aren’t selling yet.

Since it's a free you can decide to hold and wait for a pump of BTC. But, when you are in need of money you may convert into btc. Btc price now is increasing you can earn profit if you will buy.

Better to use that money to spend it in a good lunch, but maybe you are not going to be able to spend much because each bitcoin gold is below $350 right now.

So 0.10 are probably less than $35 at the moment, maybe you should try to dump those bitcoin goldies and use that money to buy any other coin that looks promising.

But there are not too many things that you can do with 35, the best thing that you can do is just buy bitcoin.. but with $35 you are not even able to buy 0.003.

BTG is considered a shitcoin which is run by a team of very unprofessional and unscrupulous people. I wouldn't be surprise if the price dumps below $100 before christmas. They've showed how much they care about profits and thats all the coin seems to be about. Profiteering. Steer clear of the pump and dump while you can.

BITCOINGOLD a very risky project. It is not clear what kind of people stand behind him. The community around the coin there. Even say BCASH and it is already a whole army of fans. Bad news constantly coming out. Some 3.5 million stolen. On GITHUB that submenu. I don't trust this project.

And BITCOIN even now bring lower yield than the BTG but much less risk losing it all. After all, bitcoin is a symbol of the crypt which in the next 3 years will cost more than $ 100,000

BTG Might be a standout amongst the greatest focuses for controversy in the bitcoin group keeping in the close future. Or, whether Bitcoin Gold (BTG) doesn’t have mining support, At that point this tough fork Might make an aggregate non-issue. Of course, some kin said those same around Bitcoin Cash – Also BTC may be at present STILL alive AND kicking today.

Both are high so it might not be profitable to convert btg to btc. You should think about it when bitcoin is crashing and btg is rising. Btc is also very high, if you turn to btc. Your holding value in usd will probaby decrease much.

Just what like other said here BTG is good if you want to have some little profit but you should sell it now, because dumping will surely happen on BTG, and if BCD will also be credited to you then you should do the same, dump it before the price becomes lower until it become unprofitable. If you still have BCH, do the same also, do not join to the cult who worship it, it will greatly affect Bitcoin on the long run, Always Support Bitcoin.

Both of them can be favourable in the long run:-
Aspect 1:- If you hold bitcoin gold it will rise obviously after some time because of some new thing brought up by the dev team, or it's some stupid pump again. So lookout for these.
Aspect 2:- If you sell your btg now to BTC ,well you'll get some 0.004 BTC  which is equivalent to 38$(assuming the price of btg is 0.04 , well that's free money you're getting by literally doing nothing. And you can use that bitcoin for trading, investing, gambling- the choice is yours.

BTG is just a clone of Bitcoin, so it is always good to convert your BTG to Bitcoin because bitcoin has higher potential in the market when compared to Bitcoin Gold. So Bitcoin has huge chance to increase its price.

Keep your bitcoin, it gives you another fork coin in the future. never try to keep fork coin in your wallet. Because you will get another fork coin with another network. that means you can try to dump it and take your profit from the forked coin of the bitcoin itself. As majority of the people are thinking about hold altcoin was better than fork coin of bitcoin.

I think you should keep your bitcoin gold since is free coins you get from the splitting coin. It pains me last time after getting  some bitcoin Cash last time and I convert them to bitcoin core and that same week bitcoin Cash went as high as $2,500. Bitcoin gold is going to increase in value because of the opportunity it creates for miner and I think this is another opportunity for you to get another coins and hold them for long.

Right now definitely go with bitcoin instead of bitcoin gold.

First of all we don't even know whether or not bitcoin gold is going to be any worthwhile investment in the long term since it is an altcoin yet it has bitcoin in its name, it'll definitely confuse a lot of investors in cryptos.

Bitcoin on the other hand probably has the best chance of succeeding as the number 1 crypto. Plus it's going to go to $10k very very soon.

Title: Re: BTC or BTG
Post by: Dralarn on November 28, 2017, 04:07:35 PM
better conver them to BTC. Bitcoin gold is just another version of the original. In a couple of years we are going to have so many bitcoin forks that people will start realizing that they don't offer any substantial benefits, and when that happens everyone will sell and buy again the original Bitcoin. I see these forks as a chance to make short term profits and nothing else, everyone is so greedy in this market that they'll move any amount of money just to make some quick bucks, and risk losing everything in the process. Try to take advantage of that and make a profit and exit. The one currency that will thrive for sure is the one that has been around for the last nine years, and that's non other than Bitcoin.

Bitcoin price now is still increasing, so you better convert it to bitcoin. I don't have much knowledge about btg, but i know like other alt it  will not sustain its value, so the safest way is to convert it to btc. But still its up to you, i hope you pick the right choice good luck.

Depends where we are in the market cycle. BTG has been dumping for days. I'm not sure if it will make another high or not. If it does, I'll sell into it between 0.05-0.06 BTC per BTG. If not, I'll sell into the next bounce.

There seems to be a negative correlation to BTC right now (same as Bcash). So once BTC has another correction, we can probably sell BTG higher.

I think you should keep Btg for 1-2 months,  take Bch as excample it price have go up after few months being release.

Maybe. Unfortunately, Bgold doesn't have Roger Ver, Jihan Wu, Craig Wright, Calvin Ayre and others promoting it and manipulating the market.

You can choose either options. Bitcoin Gold is still newly introduced so there is no telling yet whether this coin will become like Bitcoin Cash that started off good and then went dipping and then flew high. Or it may go spiraling down. I think you can go to Bitcoin if you want to stay away from risks. Bitcoin is definitely growing bigger and bigger. But if you want to take risks then continue hodling your Bitcoin Gold.

try to abstain from the temptation to invest in any kind of fork from any main coin out there. Everyone is going for BTG and all these alternatives just to make a quick buck, but that doesn't really work that way. In order for the coin to survive it actually needs to offer something of value.. some kind of utility. Non of these forked BTC version offers anything even close to that. They are all just attention seekers and profit makers, they know that Bitcoin is quite popular and by trying to fork it they just receive the attention they are looking for and the idiots who listen to them follow along, and buy their useless coins. In a couple of months or years all these version will be worth nothing in my opinion, it's a waste of money and time.

with that amount its better to not sell but HODL. btg is new. i dont give it big chance but still there is a small chance if people mine it. as you know you dont need asic to mine BTG so many miner can mine it easily. i dont believe many people will use btg for transfers their money too.
its faster and cheaper than btc but btc is king for now and people will use btc instead of btg.

Convert your btg to ethereum after btc spike i think next is alt coin spike. I am wacthing litecoin, wVes and ethereum. Neo is not in my favor since china banning ico. Btc will be in correction phase after gaining 1100% in this year. The good place is alt coin like eeth, ltc, dash, vertcoin, stratis, etc
