Title: I'm a newbie here, should I start holding BTC in the next year 2018?
Post by: dxbcoin on November 27, 2017, 05:09:57 PM
Hi guys,

I don't have a huge amount of money to start but I believe in BTC in long term. Althought I can't afford the whole 1 Btc, but I'm planning to buy and hold little by little monthly ( maybe until i get 1 Btc or more) . Is it wise to hold BTC in 2018? Please I need some honest answer.

Ps: ETH I def will start holding soon too :D

I would like to ask the same question.
Maybe I should buy more ETH rather than 1 BTC. What do you think? Thanks!

Bitcoin will hit 10k before January, so I would at least keep it until then.
I am expecting some correction after it hits 10k, but the trend seems to be bullish for now.

I think it's better to keep the funds in BTC, but if you make transfers quite often, ETH would be much better to hold

Is advisable to start holding BTC now. Bitcoins have come to stay and it is the future currency we have all been waiting for.

The beginner needs to learn the way to earn money on ICO. This is the best method if you have a little cash.

You are saying that ethereum is much more profitable at the moment, well, maybe you are right.

Just go to coinmarketcap or any other site in where you can find some charts about the prices, you can easily see that bitcoin only increased by 10 times during this year, while ethereum rised by more than 14 times, so yes, ethereum was the most profitable coin during this year (talking about the strongest, of course)

It will easily be touching more than $1000 by the next year, but we still do not know when it will happen, but bitcoin can not be compared, it increased a lot and it will keep increasing ,because it is still the #1 on the market, and this is making the whole difference.

IMO, yes! Bitcoin is getting so much public attention lately that it seems that it will continue to grow in the coming years...

However, the forks [BCC and BTG] are also gaining momentum so they are worth looking at too.

It’s hard to say when a correction might occur so you need to take that into consideration. I will be holding through 2018 no matter what and probably well beyond that. I think there are a lot of new investors just learning about Bitcoin so my guess is that there is more room for a rise before a correction, but I could be wrong. If I am wrong, I am willing to wait out a correction or a crash until it recovers and reaches a new high.

You should hold bitcoin since the massive adoption will start pretty soon. But since you don't have much money I will advice you to do the airdrop. You could make real money just by subscribing to form and then buy ETH/BTC or whatever you like.

Definitely buy Bitcoins. You don't have to buy a full one, like a tenth is fine too. Some investors say that Bitcoins could grow to 100,000 per coin.
I'm keeping mine in the Blockchain wallet (https://blockchain.info/wallet/) and some in HexaBot (https://hexabot.top/?r=ZVaults) to give me a bit of profit.

Holding (hodling for hardcore cryptopeeps) BTC will always bring you some profit for long term approach, that's what I always believe and that hasn't been changed in the recent months. So, yes, start holding your BTC next year as more people will get acquainted to it and will probably buy it up. One example is that almost all of the officemates that I have in our department are now buying BTC with their bonus pay for this year. It would be best if you'll start buying BTC now. Just don't put all your money to one trade and try to use the averaging technique. In that way, you can still buy BTC when the price tanks after the selloff phase (which I believe is inevitable).

Dont bother with holding ETH at this moment. If you want to buy bitcoin (satoshis) then go ahead with it. You could start by purchasing as much amount you could afford. If monthly investment is too less to purchase the bitcoin then go ahead with bimonthly strategy or trimonthly strategy. That will help you in getting satoshis(bitcoins) in chunk.

You don't have to buy the whole bitcoin. What's the difference if it's 1 or 0.1? What matters is the ROI. Let's say you bought a load of shitcoins for $100 and they rose 50-100% a year. Now imagine you bought 0.01 bitcoin for the same $100 and it will rise 300-500%. By the way, now it would be a perfect time to buy some since bitcoin dropped.

IMO, BTC is worth holding on to. Buying BTC bit by bit every month is a good way to accumulate your BTC. But just take note of the transaction fees, sometimes transaction fees can stand a significant cost of smaller transaction.

I think that is a good idea. Just keep pumping money into bitcoin and then collect it. Yes bitcoin will go down and up and you will worry but ultimately it will go up.

Btw think about this. A casino still makes money with only a 1% house edge. But have you seen their graphs?? there massive dips but they always go up again and they keep going up even though they might have huge dips.

You definitely should.

When I first came to know about BTC it was in low $300 range and I thought it has became very expensive (judging from it's past value of $1-2).. but man, was I wrong? .. Yes. A lot.

Next time I saw, It was already $5500 ... a freakin 20x up from last year. Then I bought as many as I could.

I believe BTC will still go up and I am going to buy more next week.

So, yeah. You should hold BTC into 2018... but try diversifying, if you capital allows.

Most of the alts are businesses in the making.

If you are using cryptocurrency as an investment I would hold onto it for years. It is here to stay and will keep going up over time. With more people becoming aware of it and all the companies starting to get into crypto Bitcoin will continue to skyrocket for many many years.

Nobody doesn't have the exact guess about the Bitcoin price because many people are saying it will touch more than 25000$ by next year. I am also newbie like you to learn many new things about the Bitcoin, but what i can say it will reach 13000$ by the end of the year.

I'm afraid not. Even the most powerful desktop can't mine Bitcoin nowadays. You'll just waste your PC's hardware in the process without any worthwhile return.

What would be an estimated budget needed to build a decent rig to mine. Mostly in altcoins, since bitcoin is much more harder to mine.

Yes, just hold your bitcoin because there are many speculations that bitcoin will still rise until next year. So if you start investing today, by next year you will gain more profit. As for Eth, start to invest also for eth now as its price is not yet high. Some bitcoiners say that as bitcoin rise, the altcoins also follow.

It is good to hold some Bitcoin, but diversity is the best. Look for promising coins that can easily go ×10 that are still sold for few cents, or few dollars. That was how Bitcoin started until it grew big.

Though I am not a beginner, I can say that bitcoin operedelenno will grow..
Therefore, I recommend 3 aspect.
1) Collect bonuses+friends will help
2) mining your equipment
3) Cloud mining.
In principle, these simple rules you can go to the income of about 0.001-0.002 BTC in day.
If I can share my experience, in private messages)

I think that is a good idea. I might actually try that myself. Thanks for the reminder!
By the way, have anyone heard about mytimecoin project? Its kind of encouraging you spending time in the internet by tokens. Its not new idea but its interesting how tokes could be available for everyone.

Holding btc is always a good option whenever you think the ahead road looks good. Especially now what has happened is that it is gaining some resistance at this level which is a good thing and it will help to move up from here. Unless their is some negative news than you can sell and buy again later else holding helps to gets the good profits.

I though btc is hard to earn profit if you are trying to buy now, I will prefer other altcoins. Maybe it will gives us more profit, you don't to trade your bitcoin just hodl until the price is rising again.

am i right , that you only got into the game of crypto for the quick profits ?
then you should really consider getting Altcoins.
Even longterm i am not sure about BTC , depending on what you consider is longterm..

I started to hold over 20 different coins since august 2016 and everytime a coin makes 100%+ profit , i take 50% and invest them into a new coin i dont have yet.

Anyway , you might want to consider altcoins over BTC but its allways good to have a little bit of everything ; )
Diversify! (aka : dont put all your eggs in one basket )

Yeaah bitcoin will be good investment in long time I believed too. If you start hodling know it would means you can still have more profit in future because BTC price is lower now than what it could be in next year. But still consider that investing in bitcoin is risky also.

First never forget :  Never invest more than you can afford to lose.

If it's for a long term. I think it's a good idea to invest in btc. And as you want to buy little monthly of course it will be good to buy when you see a  sharp decline (10%). I know it's more easy to say that to do.

I'd recommend checking out some altcoins, do a little research and find ones that you believe to be promising. Investing early into promising altcoins can see the best returns for small investments. Altcoin investments are far riskier than investing in Bitcoin.

I think anyone here is wonder about the same question... I really believed that after btc=10.000 $ there was a retracement, but... I was horribly wrong.
About 2018... with bitcoin, just a week is an eternity.
We'll see.

Yes keep buying small amounts. Slowly convert the fiat you have into crypto and the more and longer you do it the more your confidence will grow and the more your ratio of fiat/bitcoin will be. Remember there is no need to sell Bitcoin to fiat, that is pointless and defeats the entire point of bitcoin. Each and every day that goes past more and more eooe are accepting bitcoin as payment so hold on to it you will not regret it.

Why you're waiting for 2018 just buy and hold now. If I could buy only a small amounty of bitcoin now. I will hold until the 1st quarter of 2018 and sell it.

Ethereum is also a good based on my research.

i would suggest you hold some altcoins if you want to make money since they are probably gonna go up faster than bitcoin!
