Title: Using scripts in bitcoin transactions
Post by: zby on June 30, 2011, 03:16:23 PM
Has anyone started using the script part of the Bitcoin Protocol?  Are there any tutorials to this (I mean something more high-level then the wiki entry https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Script)?  It looks like this could be a great enabling technology for some on-line games and competitions - but it is rather hard to understand what exactly it can do and what are the limits of it.

This thread (http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=8821.0) and wiki (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Contracts) page may be interesting to you.

So far those are only ideas and aren't implemented yet. There is a patch available on github (https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/319) that implements escrows, but I haven't checked it out so I have no idea how stable it is.
