Bitcoin touches $10k in south korean exchange bithumb(one of the largest exchange). There are many reactions coming along.

This has happened in several other Korean exchanges as well and this means that it is just a matter of time before bitcoin does the same thing in other exchanges, to be honest I thought we will not see that price until the end of the year and now it seems we are going to see that price before the end of this month.

With the current trend on bitcoin price today, $10,000 is kinda an easy target to reached now erasing doubts by others that lots of correction on the price should supposed to happened before it reached that price level.

Actually there are other guy who says that Bitcoin could 'easily' reach $40,000 by the end of 2018. Note that 'easily' term. :)

There is a huge amount of resistance at $10,000 level. It may take at least 1-2 weeks for Bitcoin to breach that resistance level in major Western exchanges such as Coinbase and Bitstamp. In Wex (BTC-e) also, the prices are much lower than $10,000. But in the Asian exchanges, it is a different story.

Its happy to see bitcoin price reaching $10,000.But we could not forget that bithumb is the same korean exchange which was accused of allowing wash trading which was illegal to just pump BCH price above $3,000 when its price was just $1,800 in other exchanges.Its not a reputed exchange and we need not give importance to the listings in such exchanges.

the Korean exchange known as bithumb is one of the least reliable exchanges in my opinion. there has been a lot of fake stats from their website, i wouldn't be surprised that this price was fake too although it is not that much higher than the current bitfinex,bitstamp,... prices.

with that said bitcoin price has been over $10,000 and in some places over $12,000 for a while now. in countries such as India and Zimbabwe which have an exchange in their country, price has been high like this. it is all about the increasing demand!

I heard that South Korea is doing the same thing as Japan, they are already embracing bitcoin and several businesses are now accepting it as a payment and government even supported it. This maybe the main reason why the price hit the $10,000 level that fast. Koreans are now trusting the coin more because it can be used in their everyday purchases.

It's going to be interesting to watch if there is a huge selloff at 10k when the Western World wakes up. Every Asian exchange is starting to hit 10k now. It is a great achievement for Bitcoin, I wonder how 2017 is going to end. Maybe it will continue to grow even stronger.

OP, the Chinese whales have already brought all their volume to South Korea since the PBOC's ban. I do not believe Koreans are really into Bitcoin trading like how the Chinese are.

That maybe true but bitcoin has been so aggressive lately and maybe just maybe bitcoin will settle $10000 before the year end just look at the growth rate of bitcoin lately . Ofcourse it is useless even if it reaches that if bitcoin doesnt settle for that value.

Finally! It came true!  ;D --- I'm pretty sure Polo and other popular exchange sites will follow. Just like most of the predictions, this $10k mark will hit by the end of 2017, other forecasters stay safe and predicted around Q1 of 2018. Bitcoin sudden rise only signifies that it stays on top of all the digital currencies out there. No one can beat this kind of price surge. Imagine, just a few weeks ago, BTC price keeps sliding down due to BTCash and other Alts market price trend. I'm too excited for next year, and this is a pretty good sign to all of the BTC holders, including me,  ;D Now, I'm hoping that the $15k mark will be achieved next year and I will put all my money on the line with BTC.

There are many exchanges where the price of bitcoin is either too low or too high. Each exchange has its own goals about this, someone is interested in attracting potential customers, and others simply get money in exchange.

Yeah, it's a huge milestone. However since there are restrictions in money transfer overseas in korea if i remember correctly, this price isn't really the "real" bitcoin price. We're still yet to hit that amount in domestic exchanges.

I'd say that by the end of the year we'll settle on $10k as a nice floor, and price being around $12-13k.

No idea what's going to happen to BTC price next year, though.

I just discovered and i think i now have a new exchange site. Because if S.korea has that highest price then that would mean they are on of the big fish on bitcoin and their are many investors in that country. Fork has not yet appeared and the price is already achieving high standards.

Bitcoin gave to us its answer after a few days, it has reached 10k and surpassed it already, it seems crypto users are incredibly bullish when it comes to bitcoin even with some of the recent news regarding the IRS and what it seems to be a greater attention to all of those that hold bitcoin in exchanges.

One thing I have noticed is that the exchange rates in the Asian markets are always higher than those in the European and American markets. For example, in India the exchange rates are going at around $13,000 per coin, when the Coinbase exchange rate is $11,500. Similarly in Korea, the exchange rate is $12,500 per coin.

These are closed economies. There is no way to arbitrage and profit from these differences. The rates will be even higher in countries like Zimbabwe and Venezuela. If you have full capital convertibility, then the price at exchanges will be the same world over.

Its already crossed 11.6k and I found its stabilizing around 11k now as I feel it's getting good support at 11k and if this becomes the new resistance level then Bitcoin might as well cross 13k by Dec end, that's the whole thing every one is talking about it's important to maintain this level and that's very important we maintain it.

It is another proof that ASIA can effect of bitcoin in future because high demand came from ASIA.
South korean is big market and they can change crypto price and more vaule for it.
they will add more and more demand and they will sell it for small price change or give it as fast possible.

Then we were celebrate this news but that was then and I hope we would be saying very soon how bitcoin has reach another high in days to come. Bitcoin will recover its lose ground and we should expect it to hits someware around  $25,000 and $30,000 in some months to come.
