As I write this, there have been 9,151,631 bets on Just-Dice.com (https://just-dice.com).

I'm going to give the person who places the 10 millionth bet double their stake back, win or lose, up to 1 BTC.

So for example if you bet 1 BTC on the 2x payout game, you make a profit of 1 BTC if you lose, and 3 BTC if you win (instead of -1/+1 as it is normally).

The last time I ran a promotion like this was about a week ago, at the 2 million bets mark, and it caused quite a rush of betting (and crashed the site!)

I've upgraded the servers since then, so hopefully this time we'll handle the extra load...

If the 10 millionth roll bets zero then the prize is twice zero.

That would make it quite a cheap promotion for me, but it would make you kind of a dick.  ;)

On the two-million promotion I made the same offer and Bugpowder won 2 BTC by betting the full 1 BTC on bet 2000000 (https://just-dice.com/roll/2000000).  Apparently he lost 3 BTC trying to win the 2 BTC too, but made it back later.

hrm yes 1 BTC on the 98% is a nice payout (1.01020408 + FREE BTC = 2.01020408). Very low risk (ONLY 2% chance to lose! lol).  I will have to watch the bet #'s carefully.

Well, if everyone's betting 1 BTC at 98% around the 10 million mark then a few people are going to lose. Dooglus, maybe you should give the 2 lost stakes that are closest to the 10 million mark to the winner...

It's double your stake back + whatever you win.  So if you win, it's +2.01... BTC and if you lose it's still +1 BTC.

But if you lose AND you miss the 10M bet, then it's -1 BTC.  That's the gamble.

I don't really understand.  For one, losing stakes aren't mine to give away - they go to the investors.  But are you saying they may be bigger than 1 BTC so it makes a better prize?  Or what's your point?  :)

I was just commenting on how everyone is going to bet 1 BTC at 98% as a safe bet, but inevitably some people are going to lose. But you're right, it was a stupid post, forget about it (I didn't have coffee yet  :)).

Well, that was dumb.

Bet 10M was kingofsports, betting 0 BTC

So I decided I'd pay out the next bet:

Bet 10M+1 was bitcoinforest betting 0.000001 BTC, so he wins 0.000002 BTC

So why not pay out the previous bet too?

Bet 10M-1 was Dabs betting 0.00001778 BTC, so he wins twice that

    manually crediting user 367 with amount 0.000002
    manually crediting user 15 with amount 0.00001778
    manually crediting user 15 with amount 0.00001778

All in all a very cheap promotion this time!

Glad to say the server stayed up this time, barely reaching 10% load.  :)

I remember it being around 9995XXX and I went 2 feet to grab a Red Bull and when I came back it was over 10 million with like 5000 extra haha.
