Title: Minergate?
Post by: PoorBitMiner on November 28, 2017, 02:23:46 PM
Is minergate a legit service? Is it a scam or downloads some virus? Is it worth the download?

I have a friend that's using minergate for mining, if I remember well, I've had it some time ago but got rid of it for some reason. Don't think they're scammers, might be wrong tho. There are some articles and comments on the internet that they're with the bytecoin scam but as far as I know, my said friend is doing well with them as a mining pool.

Since you've said the word "download", I suppose you're talking about their mining pool and GUI right? As the above guy stated, There are a lot of complaints about miner gate lately as they've been acting shady. You can see it for yourself when you visit their ANN thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=528848.0. Well its a closed source so you can't really verify if the software doesn't contain any malicious things but as for viruses, I haven't heard a guy who got one.

That being said, I won't recommend minergate, You should look for an open source alternative which offers low fees as minergate imposes high fees.

I haven't experience anything with minergate but based on what I read here, its not a scam. I will get you some threads that you will help you decide it for yourself.

Just a simple Google search will give you that results. I read in one thread though that the withdrawals took 20 days to be received so maybe that's 1 problem that you can face in the future if you decided to invest. He was able to invest so it doesn't look like a scam at all. Although you can look for alternatives if you still have doubts.

I was using the minergate software to mine with my CPU cores and one GPU with my PC from 6 months before. But after some months I have uninstalled it.
I downloaded the software again today but the same email signed up on that time. Now it's asks again sign up and I able to sign up with the same email and mined already are seems zero in dashboard. What they are doing.
