Well really depends on your choice because most of the exchanges offers great service. Since I am using poloniex, I can say that I'm contented with the service of poloniex. This is really not about the exchanges its all about your trading skills.

In my opinion the best exchange for altcoins Bittrex. Much more choice than on the same POLO. Quickly the site works. Now though the rules are tightened so need to be careful not to have blocked. Especially for those who love the PAMP group.

For shitcoin use the site Cryptopia. Large selection of altcoins. Support responds pretty quickly. Smart website

For altcoins Cryptopia, Yobit, Coinsmarkets and Novaexchange, the latter however is in the process of changing ownership and may either go offline completely for a while or eventually migrate the existing userbase. I understand they still negotiate this.

Mostly for really good coins, they as developers will put in a big market.
one of Bittrex's examples, but not so easy for their coins so they can go there.
until now Etherdelta is a free market that is easy for beginners.

I usually use:
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz
https://www.coinexchange.io/
https://auth.hitbtc.com/
https://bittrex.com/
https://poloniex.com
Each exchange has some good points and some points are not reasonable but safe for your Altcoin

As of now, i see the best exchanges as of today are Etherdelta , YObit, Bittrex and CRyptopia. I see most of the traders and buyers/sellers use bittrex mostly for its user friendly interface and faster transaction rollout. Etherdelta is also good and can be seen in the second list. Exchanges have got to play important role in the crypto space as lost of transactions are happening day by day and we need many more facilities in the coming days on the exchanges.

there are lots of crypto exchanges but forr me the best and most reliable trading platforms are bittrex because they only list valuable cryptocurrencies and etherdelta is best for trading for erc20 tokens. I never experienced any problem trading on this two platforms. but i advice you to try all exchanges and decide on your own which one is best for you.

I prefer bittrex and poloniex but to trade other alts that are not listed there, i use coinexchange, yobit, hitbtc and etherdelta. Only choose trading platform that are old and trusted by many.

If you choose bittrex dont forget to get verified before depositing anything. Poloniex also have daily withdrawal limit for unverified account.

It really depends whatcryptocurrencies will you trade. I use bitstamp for buying coins from fiat, bitrex for exchanging main coins and etherdelta for various not so known coins.

A lot of traders believe bittrex is the best. Problem is their high listing fees. Etherdelta is great. But it's also a dumping ground.
As for me, am holder so it doesn't matter much to me where I finally sell or buy because it's not frequent ritual

If you're dealing with ERC20 platforms then Etherdelta is the best otherwise if I will choose the best Cryptocurrency exchange then I will go to the top Cryptocurrency exchange in the market like www.bittrex.com and other top 10.
They have good support just in case you need one.

What exchanger do you think is best for trading altcoins?

Well, the two best exchanges are Poloniex and Bittrex.  These are the world no 1 and no 2 exchanges which deals in bitcoin / altcoin market.  They contains the best altcoin in the best possible price and i have never had any issues with their support. Poloniex also offers marginal trading and lending option and it is good if you have more money and you can lend only and get interest on that.

There are many good exchanges working in the market but my 1st choice is Bittrex as they have very strong security features and no down time heard about their website nor any cyber attack happens due to their security. It is very easy to use and they have very prompt support service.

There are a few Exchanges that you can use, some work faster than others, some more reliable, some more secure and others are more responsive in terms of support too.

Bittrex
Poloniex
Yobit
Etherdelta
CoinExchange
HiTBTC
Cryptopia

These are the most used.

It's bittrex. It is very to use and it has the highest volume. Another best thing with them is they only list promising coins and not like those others popular exchanges that are full of shitcoins.

I registered at HitBTC a week ago, my choice fall on them cause of their very
wide offer of different alt-coins and many new tokens and ICO`s. I have many
tokens, I actively participate in different air-drops and most of them could be
found on this exchange site.
Many people here have positive comments about HitBTC. For now I do not have
any complaints on them. I like how everything looks like, this is my first time to register
on exchange site, and I will see how is that going.

the exchange that you will use really depends on the type of region you live in. Unfortunately many exchange are kinda restricted to what customers they can serve, each country has their own regulation about which citizen can deposit money and send money to that country, it's really silly but that's what exchanges have to deal with. The best bet for you is to find a local exchange, in other words an exchange that is regional and serves your country. In that way you will be able as well to reduce the fees, because it's usually more expensive to send payments overseas, and you are very likely as well to convert your local currency to a currency that the exchange accepts, which means you'll lose an additional 2-3% in exchange rates. With a local exchange provider you won't have these issues.

To date I have been using Binance and found this ok however lately I have had to use the market a lot more due to constantly being pushed down the block order. I was thinking there was some sort of bot jumping in. I was then told to look at the market share and found it was much quicker to use bitcoin rather that eth to purchase other Altcoins.

In my view Bittrex is one of the best exchange for buying and selling our altcoins because is an US based exchange so they are well regulated with all of the current US rules,so crypto users need not worry about the safety of their funds.
And Poloniex exchange is also good because we can buy any coins here some of the rarest coins are also available in the poloniex trading.

They are so many exchange for Bitcoin and Altcoin, they are also decentralized exchange like Etherscan now. But the best exchange depend on what cryptocurrency are you trading. Personally I prefer to trade at Poloniex or Bittrex for popular altcoin because they have liquidity. Smaller trades like Binance, Cryptopia, Liqui, Yobit, Coinsmarkets, Hitbtc and Novaexchange are also good for undervalued altcoins. For bitcoin trading, I used Bitstamp and Kraken mainly  ;)

There are so many good exchange sites out there and its sort of a bit difficult to say which one is. People would like to classify the best through transaction fee, which country they operate From, their rating from other users, their reviews, their payment options whether users can use credit cards, bank transfer, PayPal (which most people heavily seek for), the amount of bitcoin that can be purchased without ID's and also most importantly their security system and method.

And it will be often possible for some people to call an exchange site as the best while you may not like it.
But as you requested, here are the ones been rated good by users based on their experience, do visit them  and personally check them out;

1) Etoro
2) Poloniex
3) Bittrex
4) Etherdelta
5) Coinbase

And OP, its 'Exchange not Exchanger'. Thanks

Yes, the binnace has a very convenient app, I can track the price waves on my mobile phones without frequent login and logout on the browser.  What is more important, the trading volume are big enough, and there are a lot of different altcoins to trade.

I think so Bittrex wants your id card or passport at these days  ???

Bitfinex works flawlessly all the time and got so many coins to trade.

Tried Kraken for a while and will never go back. I've opened an account to Bittrex but can't get through KYC and several friends got same issues. Every time I try to use Bittrex it's slow and laggy and I wonder how many weeks or months I have to wait to even be able to finish the KYC process.

I use yobit. They have a small commission of 0.2%.
And they do not require your documents upon registration.
They have a very large list of alcoins.
Very good exchanger.  8)

it is a difficult question, because right now almost every day a new exchance get online (some of them without fees). usually you can do nothing wrong if you use one of the big ones (poloniex, bittrex, binance, bitfinex). if you are intersted more in new and smaller marketcap coins (beside the big ones) i can recomment you cryptopia or yobit and for ethereum based tokens etherdelta.

Bitcoin exchanges are becoming more complicated as the market grows. Nowadays, stories of customers who have their accounts blocked and new users that take days to complete their registrations are becoming more common. Jameson Lopp, a developer of BitGo and a major influencer of the Bitcoin universe, conducted an informal survey through his Twitter page, where he obtained more than 1,600 responses, which showed that 7 out of 10 new Bitcoin users took about a week to have their registrations approved in the crypto-currency brokers. The best exchange will always be the that adapts first...

I suppose that bittrex is the best choice due to the huge amount of altcoins and good liquidity. If you want to trade ERC20 tokens try P2P exchange etherdelta.

I think the question can be asked from the other way. It depends on which exchange tokens are listed and traded. As for almost all tokens based on ETH, they can be immediately traded on etherdelta by contract address. And you don't need to undergo any verification process on etherdelta, which is a good thing is some cases. On the other hand, when token is listed on a big exchange, some may find it as a better option, since there are much more people ready for trading and volumes are higher.

I personally prefer bitfinex for their wide alt-currencies support, strong authentication and tools like limit, stop-loss and etc., which I got used while trading at Fidelity. Also use bitlish to deposit fiat currency, which has quite a low fees and good support. It lacks many alt-currencies though :(

If you want to trade more valuable and easy to use you can use bittrex, poloniex, cryptopia, binance etc. here you can find more currencies for trade.
And if you want low withdraw fee and fast deposit confirmation you can use poloniex and hitbtc. polo take only 0.0001 btc withdraw for btc and hitbtc take 40k satoshi where rest of the exchange take   0.001-0.002 btc as fee.

Sorry man but etherdelta is not that easy to use for everybody especilly for those who don't know a lot about ethereum and how transactions behaves in the ethereum network. Bittrex has a lot of restrictions for daily withdraw limits so for someone who is willing to trade in it, it's necessary to pass through verification process and paying high fees for each withdraw. Why are you suggesting Etherdelta? I don't know exactly how it works, Using a smart contract to perform the trades and acting as escrow but the fees are too high, And when you import your private keys you can't use the same address again. If scammers couldn't fool exchanges to list their scam tokens, With a decentralized exchange no one can stop them from listing their useless tokens :D
I use services like Shapeshift, Everything goes as I'd like them, I like the fact that you are not allowed to store any coins in their wallets.

Lately i began using some of the newer exchanges and after trying a few different ones i settled on kucoin and binance. Both have good promo deals with really low trading fees. Although I trade on several exchanges, this is Bitrex, Binance and CEX, I still think that it is necessary to go to decentralized ones. I do not believe in centralized exchanges, my funds are not under my control and it strains, at any moment the exchange can block my funds or simply they can be stolen ! And here's another piece of information for you to think about, I do not know if it's true, but it's worth thinking about. "The US tax requires the exchange to provide documents to anyone who bought, sold or redeemed for one transaction 20 thousand dollars or more for the period from 2013 to 2015" !!

I have only used Poloniex, Bittrex, Yobit, Cryptopia and Bitso, and in all of them I have found a good service, although due to the facilities it offers to withdraw my earnings in my local currency, quickly and with low fees, in this moment my favorite exchange is the Mexican Bitso.

But always try to stick to the bigger exchanges if possible so there are more trade volumes. Also you might have to have some accounts on smaller exchanges because not all exchanges list all the coins available on the market. Hope you well in your start in the trading world. Goodluck.

Bittrex has very high fee and it's bad idea to withdraw Bitcoin for it.
Sometimes if I want to withdraw btc I buy altcoins, send them to other exchange (poloniex), then buy there bitcoin. It's stupid bu currently the most profitable for me when I want want to make a transaction.

There are lots of Exchange in crypto world. i am like and use some exchange.
I think these below exchanger is the best for trading altcoins
https://etherdelta.com
https://www.coinexchange.io/
https://hitbtc.com
https://bittrex.com/
https://poloniex.com
Etherdelta is the one i use since i earn tokens and as my exchanger. There's no problem in etherdelta and i guess all of the exchanger also. because the only differences of any exchanger is the value or the lowest or much cheaper amount when you exchange your tokens.

The best exchanger - decentralized! And this is the only thing you need to know. I don't need to explain why.

My vote have to go to binnance i had zero problems with them so far and doubt that there will be any, bittrex would be my second pick as they are also good but sometimes they have problem with loging in.I would stay away from poloniex especialy since they changed thier terms of service to prety much what ever happens its not our fault

I like the charts on kucoin however I do find Binance easy to use and it feels secure. Had no problems accessing coins (other than the time the froze IOTA) the only issue I have and I know it's in the small print but the percentage they take for transactions is a bit of a killer.

I go for Binance as they have flexible policies for non-verified users, great interface, enough volume and enough token pairs.
And they build up good reputation in a short period of time.
