Michael Novogratz considers that Bitcoin could be at $40,000 at the end of 2018.  "Ethereum, which I think just touched $500 or is getting close, could be triple where it is as well." - he said on Monday on CNBC's "Fast Money."

I don't think ethereum will triple at the end of year 2018, but maybe bitcoin can reach $40,000 at the end of 2018. In my prediction, ethereum may double it's price from today, but not triple because for me 1 year is not so much enough for it to happen. There is no so much explanation my friend, just a proper estimation can answer your question.  :)

Ethereum being a developing as well as already established platform, still has a potential to grow.
The growth can be exponential like bitcoin but it would be foolish to set a date.

ETH will triple maybe even 5x. more people from the outside are investing into crypto including the banks.

but i think a lot of tokens will also tripple. if you have invested in ETH like most of us do and are hoping for its price to rise like bitcoin, the rest of the tokens are also going to rise like NEO. in fact MNX did rise exponentially since the first of this month.

Yes I think Ethereum price will move 3x in 2018. Just look at how many projects/ICOs are using Ethereum blockchain. Also with the bitcoin at 10k, lots of people will consider it to be too expensive and will look for an alternative investment. For them, ethereum should be the first choice.

Yes, it's entirely possible, and the value of ETH now seems to have a huge room for appreciation. It's perfectly possible to reach $1, 000 by the end of the year.

I think yes. When BTC market is too hot, they will shift their money to good projects and all the alts are so cheap now.

Ethereum has made good gains the last 1-2 weeks and still is in bullish trend. As the 2nd currency in marketcap, a very solid project and the hype in 2nd quartal of 2017 it is still in mind of people and will profit a lot, when bitcoin has its 4th fork - nobody can take 4-10 different Bitcoins seriously :D
And BTC has an outdated technology and will someday be replaced. I am sure of it, and am wondering why it is taking so long, that people notice that. I think its a game of whales - the whole thing, we saw the last 4 months.  

They coin will flip one day and Ethereum and others will be big profiteurs of all this :)

ETH still produced! don't forget it! Therefore, it will not have a sharp rise. And when Vitalik will make an official announcement about the end of the production... there will be a sharp increase in the price.

yes I agree with Michael Novogratz's view , infact  Ether will be 1000$ in Jan-18, this is the reason- Ethereum is an open software platform based on blockchain technology that enables developers to build and deploy decentralized applications.And now a days you can see many many ICO coming with Ehereum platform.And technically Ether made a huge break out at $350 level and its now trading at 410+ level, You have seen Ether rose more that 25% in last 10 days. And the other side Bitcoin is making new and new highs so investor will go to buy Ether as well, so I will not surprise if Ether will triple from here.

yes, its very possible, ethereum can triple in next 6-12 month maybe sooner. its the most invested coin after bitcoin. Hope for the best

I won't be surprised if it ripple in one year. It's crypto market and every worthy cryptocurrency grows very fast! Much faster than any other type of market.

Considering that Ethereum was hovering around $300 for a while and is now climbing again, it is very likely that we will see it hit $1k before the summer. This is considering the rate at which is has been climbing and also the rate that bitcoin has been increasing in value. Ethereum is pretty much second in line only to bitcoin and with that being said, it is very probable that Ethereum will reach $5k within the next couple years, let alone $1500. I had a friend but some Ethereum 2 weeks ago ans she has already made a good amount of money from that one investment.

Nah. I don't think it is real. To triple ETH in need to triple its usage = increase the ICO market by 3. As the global ICO rush is almost ended there is no way to perform such growth. Even if ETH will become PoS and miners will massively buy coins.

It will be a good Christmas if ever it happened before the end of the year.
It should be tripled to stay the value of it in exchange for bitcoin intact.
If it is .05 bitcoin per ETH then the market should still see it like that even if they will need to increase the price of ETH.  ;D

I think, like 2 months after the PoW change to PoS. The price will 3x. Easily. Ppl dont want to sell due to PoS, and more want to buy in.

Real crypto currencies like bitcoin and ethereum are growing naturally, due to the increasing adoption of this innovation, thus it isn't new thing to expect double or triple price next year.

considering the price of ethereum and the fact that it is considered one of the big coins, the pump of it to 3x of its current price sounds impossible to me. based on what i have seen, the coins that are too expensive like ethereum will always have a hard time getting pumped. their pumps will be always restricted by a couple of factors:
1. the high price itself. which is always easier to pump a 10 cent coin rather than pumping a $400 coin
2. the circulating supply and too many bag holders. which is another issue. many have bought it at 0.15BTC and are currently in a tremendous loss. they are waiting to dump it as fast as they can to get the least amount of loss. and the circulating supply is naturally extremely high on its own too.

in may 2018 the price will be somewhere 1000$ and maybe more

As Bitcoin price too too hot and expensive for new comers they will look at alt and Ethereum will be nice choice with their very strong potential market and high demand from ICO.
But I don't think it will triple in 2018.
There's nothing imposible in cryto world but my opinion it not fast like Bitcoin for Ethereum

Yes its very possible upto x 10 is possible with its development this not a theory but its fact.

ethereum still has good potential for long term. I think Triple is easy for ethereum, I believe it will be more than triple in end 2018.

Bitcoin at 40K? Wow bravve prediction. I hope it happens but I won't expect it to come true

ETH, ath was 3x current price, so very much possible. If ICO projects don't slow down, then 5x is also a possibility.

I don't think it will just triple, in fact, i would not be surprised if it reaches above $2000 by 2018. Ethereum is so freaking advanced and now it even already has proof that real world DAPPS can be built. Just take for example the first blockchain game ever created: cryptokitties. It works so freaking well that more DAPPS will be encouraged to build on Ethereum's platform.

It is very good, if these predictions will come true, because a very decent amount of money lies in these coins and get three times more, it will be very nice

ETH 3X? it does not surprise me if the blow happens in front. Another thing with bitcoin prices increasingly bite a high.

I dont know it will happen or not, but if we see the fact. Ethereum is rise day by day, but i don't have strength to make the price flactuated. Along 2017, the price stable and sometimes drop with little value. But, overall Ethereum in 2017 is awesome

I do love to see people I have discussed this issue with before and look them in the face and say to them 'I told you so' . Right from the unset with the way things were moving with bitcoin you could tell that Etherum would be next in line.

By next year, or probably starting from next month, Ethereum will be making waves. But precisely by next year, it will be hitting her thousands, just like the way bitcoin boomed massively.
So, let's make a wise choice and invest quickly.

That would be every ETH holder wet dream since ETH actually has a great technical potential and BTC is now used just as a investment.

Of course it will triple! Buterin knows exactly what to do in the next few years. And in the course of this work, there will be more and more confidence in the coin.

In my opinion it is so impossible to ethereum achieve 40 000 dollars. Can not grow faster than bitcoin. But i think it is possible to grow high, max 1000$ to end 2018

I think Ethereum will pass Bitcoin as market volume. It's not impossible, it's not too hard for me. Just doing Bitcoin ads on Ethereum is more than enough.

Triple is kinda low I think.. I think it might go up like 4 or 6 times than now. A lot of people is investing in ETH nowadays, not just btc. So yeah I think 3 times is a bit low.

Yes, Ethereum price will triple and multiple many times in the future, but it will need some more time to happen. Actually the price just dropped down a bit (around 444$) but in general the price keep going up just like Bitcoin. Eth still one of the most valuable crypto currencies right now.

I have also read this news. However, there are too many other points of view towards this question. Most of experts agree that Ethereum will grow but it won’t cost over $1000 in 2018.

I think it has a great potential to follow Bitcoin in the future! It maybe will take some time, but we will see, its crypto! :D

I think he's right, bitcoin will cost 40 000$ and more by the end of 2018, and the Ethereum 2000$. IMHO

I think that's possible. predicted at the beginning of 2018, ethereum will have a very rapid development. maybe $ 600 is not impossible.

Of course ethereum can triple. Dont let anyone else tell you otherwise. Just look at this year alone. From the beginning of the year till now, ethereum has already passed the 3x gain already. Also alot of other alt coins.
So from here till end of 2018, especially with the crypto market cap growing by the days.. a triplle in ethereum price end of next year sounds easy. Im guessing we  will see alot of unimaginable prices in crypto .

It is possible for ethereum to triple but there is going to be competition from other coins like LISK offering an alternative that addresses ethereum's shortcomings. Also, eth is an expensive coin so it would have to rise considerably in order to triple in value.

Maybe at some point it could triple..but not yet I think. People want or expect ethereum to move too fast.

I believe that the price will triple, or even could grow higher than that. Ethereum is the top among the altcoins in all forms, so the same will easily be achievable. Even in the recent times ethereum is the one that has got the highest investment. Another thing is the year start, last year too by the year starting the price pumped high, same could happen this time as well.

With time need to pass 500$ first,but i think ETh will reach 1000$ around february-March 2018.Etherum is going amd moving in right direction

I'm pretty sure ETH will triple even in Q2 2018 or before.
$40k for BTC is much more complex thing. Without real major changes (including Lightning Network or some alternative) $40k sounds ridiculous and impossible.

Well if bitcoin reaches 40k then Ether will surely move on to hit 1500$ for sure. I hope it grows because I have been saved lots of ethers. :P

I dont think so, ethereum is not going up again the price of ethereum is 300+ now. Maybe in the future the price will be triple when they got a big investors.

prefer it stays a bit longer under the 500 for buying some more XD but I fear this month it will climb rapidly
