Title: Which coins/icos to buy and hold
Post by: levalencia on November 29, 2017, 06:05:52 PM
I have 1000 euros and as I am not a trader I want to invest in the medium or long term.
In order to have lower risk I would like to diversify in different coins, I could invest in 10 coins, 100 on each, but somebody told me that is too many

Probably better to invest 250 on 4 coins or 200 on 5 coins.
What do you think of this approach?

Now the other question, if you were going to hold for long term what would you invest in?
I have received recommendations in
ETH, BTC, BCC, DASH, MONERO, RIPPLE, Interstellar Holding,  OMG, EOS, ONIX, SND

But I really need to come down to choose only 4 or 5.
Any suggestions are welcome and I know of course it will be under my own responsiblity

longterm cryptos: BTC, ETH, mb Dash/Monero and OMG

as for ICOs - read into this whole scheme first before you start dropping money in it. Every idea starts an ICO these days and mostly they dont deliver. There may be great ICos to join and sell the token right after for some profit, but thats a gamble. For longterm holdings ICO-wise its quite tough and I would just try to find promising projects with a good team and rep.

best of luck

Start with a coin that is growing well already. ETH must be great but having just 1000 Euro will only give you few tokens. My suggestion is to go with MNX and its just $25 as of now. Or maybe if you believe a token that's going to be the next ETH, try NEO.  You can't be wrong with these two.

If you want stable option: go with ETH, BTC, DASH, MONERO. These guys will not let you down.
But if you spend some time in researching, I guarantee you'll find some promising campaigns to invest, which in the end will give more profit.

There surely are several coins you list that have huge potential, but listing all of your portfolio wont help, even IN ALL CAPS, a beginner where to put his 1k$. I mean obv you can just go ahead and drop 50$ on each of these coins, but id always prefer to rather put 1k into a steady, big coin and put a few bucks you can spend on the side into smaller coins. after all its a gamble short-mid term anyway, since shitcoins get pumped and solid coins simply "die" over the course of a few months before getting back to life.

Simply dont check charts that often if you are holding for the long term and also dont keep all coins on exchanges - if your "long term" really means long term as in 2-3 or 5 years.

try to look for groups of "pampas" of individual coins and watch them, you can throw long lenses into any of the coins that are long in the top, they have already shown their strength, and will only go higher with time

Start with coins whose are in tops like bitcoin or ethereum.

You can buy some cheaper coins to achieve good profit too with low invest. Try with deeponion or waves

For ICO - I would recommend LHCoin by LHCrypto, the one on my signature.  This one offers a monthly income from its operational activities.  The project is launched by Larson&Holz a legitimate international brokerage firm.  Their ICO is based on a business model that have worked successfully.

You can pay attention at this cryptocurrencies: DASH, Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, Monero. Do not also forget that Ethereum Classic will have its fork very soon. I would buy some of ETC as close to the fork it might pump. Keep several alts in your wallet, at least 7. Check for ADA, NEO, NEM.

1,000 Euros can get you a lot of coins that will increase in value without that much effort. Invest in Ethereum or Bitcoin.

Imho you should have strong nerves to make any long term onvestments in altcoins today while at one moment the whole market can drop by 20%+ or when the market is on the top. Thats the time when people may try to claim their profit. If you won't find any worthy project (that 100% have a real usage) and you are sure that you want to buy crypto then better buy something more stable. ICO bubble is about to blow and its time is coming (maybe not so soon but definetely in the upcoming year).

Ethereum and Bitcoin - 70%. Other 30% - Monero and DASH. For the long term maybe NEO, Ripple and ETC.

Better buy and hold for a long time cryptos from the top-10. You can add to them NEO, NEM, Waves and Ethereum Classic. You can make very good money if invest into minor alts (many of them) and wait till they jump to the Moon (it happens often with these alts).

At this time bitcoin is being very volatile and as a result all the alts are suffering. We never know how long this trend will continue as one cant say for sure when the bears will take over. So I think keep your money in btc and buy when there are signs of alts being back in action.

Thanks

I have another question, what percentage would you guys use in BTC vs Alt Coints, I read some reply saying 70% on BTC and ETH, and 30% on ALT Coins

The list I have so far is:
BITCOIN
ETHEREUM
DASH
MONERO
OMG
MNX
RIPPLE
ADA
NEO
NEM
WAVES
IOTA
LITECOIN

Which is too many for only 1K Euros.

Which exchange you recommend me to get in?

I'd suggest to buy and hold the coin to generate even more profits. so I strongly recommend to choose a nice coin with the development that is so inflated in future in order to get more advantages that become a benchmark of progress.

You can go for trading (Short term trading). Short term trading now simply profitable. If you track the coins tragedy and forex graph. Graph is most working way to get profit. You should trade via top coin as like bitcoin, litecoin, ethereum, ripple.

Try to see TRF Travelflex I think this is good coin.

Travelflex is a new cryptocurrency that is aiming to solve the scalability issues that other coins like Bitcoin are facing at the moment. By using a complete new DAG based algorithm Travelflex isn’t just a simple clone or a token. The block speed, for example, is 1 block per second, compared to 1 block per 10 min for Bitcoin. It will be a real Proof-of-Work (POW) coin that can be mined and runs on its own network unlike 90% of all the others coins.

I would stick with some of the established coins including BTC, ETH, XLM, NEO as your first choices for starting an investment. ICO coins have done really badly during 2018 and unless the coin is ready to launch their platform and not make you wait through 18 months of development I would give them a wide berth.

Nobody will tell you that. You should investigate the top 50 coins by yourself and find 5-10 great coins that you like the most. Divide your investment into 10 parts and invest in each coin equally. It will be a great start.

I suggest that you invest in just one coin (my advice) is to invest in coin ETH, this coin is very strong and good for medium to long term investments. syaa sure ETH can provide future benefits for you, plus the price of the coins that are down now even touching 100 usd per coin so what are you waiting for this is your chance to buy

For sure, it is better, for the time being Investing into BTC, ETH and others. I also realize that in recent months ICO coins have been unpredictable and expected. But there are still good and potential for ICO. If the ICO project is very good. If to hold it temporarily it's better for coins. And for ICO you should prefer good projects like Gigzi.

It is a good time to invest in good coins/icos .. I do advice to check the working product behind any project.

There are a couple of working icos right now. And when not all of them are good, you can check the current Gigzi ICO. This is a solid one with a good concept..

On Binance I prefer - WTC, WAN,ICX,VET.MFT and XLM
Actually BTC and ETH are also at great buy points for a long term Investor
ICOs are bit risky in this market. But I see ARAW ,Imusify and ORET seems to be good Projects

I would advise to invest in coins and tokens that you can personally believe in and, if possible, have knowledge in the particular field.

Since you are interested in long term investment you can't go wrong with the big ones like bitcoin and ethereum, although investing in them now is a bit risky since they are really volatile right now.

But the best solution would be to diversify and split a small portion of your funds onto ICO's. Especially ICO's that feature coins that aim to be a more stable and less volatile one. You can look in my signartur if you are intrested in a token that aims to be a long term investment with a real asset behind it.  ;)

Hello brother. With 1000 euros, you can buy over the same coins 10 projects and 100 projects. But before you buy, of course you have to make a thorough analysis. And at least 3-5 projects should distribute their funds to diversify risks.

I think you should only invest in 4 to 5 coins. A few options like ETH, ELF, EOS, QKC. If it were me, I would choose them.

Title: Re: Which coins/icos to buy and hold

As for me, I would suggest that you focus on the existing solid coins. Avoid ICOs for now, especially because you are a beginner. You might find it really hard to pick the best choices. That spells a much bigger risk for you. And also because, as you may have already noticed, the market is not good for such investment. You are lucky that the top coins are offered in a much cheaper prices. You may divide your investment into 4 or 5. From your list, I recommend BTC, ETH, XMR, and XRP. But if you want to make it 5, go for Waves! That is as good as the higher ranked altcoins.

Why no bitcoin on your list. Always put bitcoin on the priority so you can have a better portfolio than others.

It's not about only becoming beautiful in the eyes but it has been recommended to take that step to have bitcoin first.

Indeed, in the end it must also be taken into account with the capital that we have if we want to invest in bitcoin which will certainly produce little, I am more inclined to ethereum and neo, with prices currently affordable and a fairly good future there is nothing wrong to invest there .

That spells the way larger risk for you. And together as a results of, as you'll need already detected, the market is not smart for such investment. you are lucky that the best coins are offered in associate extremely more cost-effective prices. you will divide your investment into four or 5. From your list, i prefer to suggest BTC, ETH, XMR, and XRP. but if you would like to create it 5, choose Waves! that is nearly pretty much as good as a result of the upper hierarchal altcoins.

But when it comes to investment it better to carryout your own personal research on the coin to invest in in other to avoid misleading, go through the bounty section of this forum as there are hundreds of new projects with great potentials. And I will personally advice you to take a look at mb8 coin ICO at it has a 12 years staking plans.

Believe my experience, don't invest in some coins with such a small sum. You'd better buy one - in this case, you'll be able to suppress your greed and fix profit. If you buy 5, you'll think you haven't earn anything even at the growth.

You can't simply say that the best option right now is to invest in ethereum simply because the market is still not in bull market. Even it is safe coins still there is the risk that you can lose your entire money. If you want start now, I suggest try to study the market and the coin before you conduct your action about investing.

Must better to choose in the top 20 in the market, Ill think those coins was a longterm coins to get some profit if you sell it into a high price. Actually ill buy some coins in the top in CMC just like ETH and EOS ill think this two we be have some huge prices in a future.

With time they will be the most widely used and widely invested coins and they will have the highest value of all the coins

Do your own research, do not trust in coins that are recommended by some random members here. You can´t know if the guy is from the team and if he wants to scam people or what.

I am also interested in seeing any coments on short term coins, not long term, the long term coins are known ...

Bitcoin and Ethereum are certainly good coins , but I think they can not bring a big profit now, I think eos can still be included in the portfolio !

advice from others is needed so that we can get consideration but the decision remains with ourselves. the most important thing is always ready with whatever the results of our decisions because if not then we can blame others if we fail.

maybe the ADA coins are very suitable for short-term investments.

Keep 30-40% in a premium coin like Ethereum or Bitcoin. Ethereum’s been up a lot lately (up 90% in three weeks) and it’s still about 9.5x below its ATH. It has several forks coming up so it’s a pretty good time to buy in.

The rest you’re going to get varied answers on. Tron has also gone up about 80% in the past three weeks, and it’s primed to explode with some big news and summits coming up. It’s also about 12x below it’s ATH.

Nano is a good one too that has a lot of potential. Trading for about $1 right now with an ATH at $37. Of all this probably has the biggest upside because the coin can go up to $100 or even $1000 in the coming years.

You have to make your studies of the cryptocurrency market well before you take up either investing long term or short term. It's not something you should depend on what others say. Altcoin investments is good but do an extensive research before you consider any altcoin.

As for me, it's better to invest in a few coins only. Yes, as you've mentioned, 5 coins will be quit good for beginning. I think you can buy coins from the top, like EOS, XLM, XRP, ETH and ADA. Investing in these coins isn't so risky.

While the price of BTC begins to grow, Altcoins are also increasing in price.  It also works with lower prices.  Before investing, it would be useful for you to analyze the market yourself.  You want to reduce the risk then BTC or ETH, these coins show themselves well on cryptocurrency exchanges.

I always advise people to take only those tokens or coins that have long been on the market that are already creating their product that is already working. I think that such projects have chances for the future. It is obvious that cryptocurrency can survive in such moments as it is now only on the condition that they can create something new.

New projects don't have any special and unique idea that can be useful in real life cases. If ICO doesn't have any plan to apply its product to known problems, there are no good arguments to invest in such type of ICOs. I prefer to invest in ICOs that have working products. I suggest looking through the new ICO of populous that will be the supplier of new coins. I am sure it will worth to invest in reliable projects.

You can try to search for some promising coins in a short term basis on binance or other trading platforms. Basically, holding isn't profitable at the moment right now. What we need is to be active and an early bird here on cryptocurrency universe.

But if you spend some time in researching, I guarantee you'll find some promising campaigns to invest, which in the end will give more profit.

Especially when you look at the pedigree of the bounty or campaign manager. Some managers are known not to accept shitty coin icos.

Again too, if the coin is already listed ,then you can join it since they have already built some reputation.

It is not a bad decision but it is riskier than the past time of investing to an ICO, ICO reputation nowadays is not that good like earlier times, and even you did a research the risk is still high. Maybe it is better if you really want to invest is to divide all your investment to a certain ICO you want to lessen the loss if ever you failed for some ICO.

No matter how good the ICO is, it will not attract attention. In recent times, the negative thinking about ICO in people moves away from investing. Instead, IEOs and top 10 cryptos are better in most people's opinion.  :-\

Buying from exchange is the safest investment now. It also depend on the exchange, binance, houbi, bitmax and bittrex seem to be the best, relying on the integrity of the exchange from track record and due diligence on the project before putting forth for IEO. Individuals can invest time to research project also for people who can get inside information for ICOs.

to use coins depends on people's tastes, because everyone has different tastes and they think they can be maintained because they have a good future and that is what they choose.
lots of good and potential coins but not all will be profitable and can provide great benefits so you have to be good at choosing and tracking whether it's a good coin or not.
