McAfee is just a crazy predictor. His predictions are not practical at all.
I do wonder sometimes how he predicted the future price, and on what basis.
For instance, if he had predicted $25k to $80k than it could be more practical.

His first prediction was $500k and he risked his manhood, which was unnecessary.  ::)
And now he doubled the risk by predicting $1m... His manhood now on double trouble.  ::)

I don't want to die before 2020 and want to see his prediction.

Oh god what drugs is this guy smoking...I wanna get in on that action :D. But no seriously I have high hopes for bitcoin and some outrageous expectations myself (50-100k by that time) but they are manageable when all said and done. I would love a 7 figure tag for one bitcoin and think it is one day possible but that simply seems too soon. One thing though that I did read today that may help his case is that the NASDAQ is going to offer bitcoin futures come Q2 or Q3 2018. If he said he would get $ 10,000 in January 2017. Everyone was crazy about him. It's bad to know what's going to happen in the future. But it's even worse to worry about the past.

he is just hyping up the market. he is not really making a proper speculation. this is more of a guess, something like putting wood in the fire. but we all know that it may very well happen and price can reach that number until 2020, specially since there is the next block reward halving in that year which will boost the price up significantly.

2020 is still long time. Lets talk about next year first.
Predict bitcoin price in very long time will affect not nearly right prediction.
But if really hit that much then all bitcoiner will be rich. The price is great.

Not really. If you view his original tweet thread, he says he has a doctorate in point-set-topology, and it actually predicts like $2,000,000 in three years, but he went conservative (lol) and said $500,000 instead. I'm not sure if he even believes what he's saying, but whatever. It's good for the market lol.

McAfee is now considered a tabloid celebrity. No serious investor would tale his predictions seriously. Google him and you’d know what I’m talking about.

McAfee Predicted 10 thousand dollars everybody laughed now bitcoin crossed 10 thousand dollars but 1 million dollars prediction is somewhat ridiculous at this point in time to believe it is much like Hype

1 million is 100 times of the current price. I think it is too much, if this is true, Bitcoin has really exploded.
Personally I don't think that will happen in 2020, but it will happen in the latter years, maybe 2025.

Agree that the prediction looks not reasonable. No one can know about the future. Price could go to the moon but also come to 1$. :)))

John McAfee is Bitcoin evangelist that may sound crazy and controversial at first but don't forget he is one of few people that have connections from both worlds: financial district and hackers/geeks underworld. His predictions are not based on pure analytical data, we all know that. Winklevoss twins predicted in 2013 Bitcoin will be worth 40.000$ - bold statement at that time, back then in 2013 BTC price was 650$-800$, everyone was thinking they crazy.

He has his own reasons for predicting such rediculous amount. Anyway nobody realy knows what lies ahead. It could be a big hit for bitcoin or worst maybe crash.
