I think Dash will reach $1000 by year end

That's quite an unfair comparison... Ethereum has a circulating supply that's more than 10 times as high as Dash's.
That means that when Ethereum reaches $100 and both Ethereum & Dash have the same market cap, Dash would be worth more than $1000. Why? Because that's how the world works.

I believe Dash could easily make it to $1000. Ethereum probably too, but a bit harder. In my eyes,
Ethereum is mainly used for ICO purposes. I predict a pretty stable Ethereum price, so no $300 -> $1000 before the end of the year.

I'm not a Dash expert, but I believe that Dash has a far better chance of reaching $1000 by January 2018 than Ethereum. However, Ethereum's market cap will stay far above Dash's.

generally i think neither of these can reach $1000 but both of them have had big pumps in the past which makes me not say that with absolute certainty!!

however if i had to choose between these two and say which one has a better chance of getting there i say Ethereum since it has stronger pumpers and the ICO market is still pretty hot these days and that is the driving force for ETH price anyways.

Neither will reach $1,000 in two months, not after already ploughing through all the significant barriers, and definitely not before trying to stabilise at $500 first. A realistic very optimistic outlook is the golden one thousand mark by end of 2019, but it has to come with significant new development or adoption.

The first to do this should be Ethereum, but if Dash can widen its use outside of niche territory, then you never know. But I would even tip Monero to do this before Dash does.

Oh really? I think you are right though both have potential to reach the speculated price by January 2018. Dash is one good coin with lot of potential while ETH is one good coin with lots of continuous stream of demand. For this reason I think both might be able to reach the said price but the only question is what among the two will reach it first? In my viewpoint it's got to be ethereum since it has more constant stream of demand in it because of ICO's running smart contracts helping it's growth.

Both of them is great because they'd pump big in these days and its hard to say which one is great but if I have to choose I would choose ethereum has the greater potential than dash and also can possible reach 1000$ in Jan 2018.

I think both of this cryptocurrencies or altcoin can reach $1000 or even higher, but I want to agree with OP and my reason is dash have smaller circulating supply compared to ethereums circulating supply at 96 million, that is the advantage of dash. but still demand is the key for the price to increase. other than the price, dash and ethereum should not be compared.

Dash can reach that level as it is already at 2x price than eth price right now. Eth can also reach to $1k one day but not by jan next year.

$1k for both dash and eth is not possible as there is only 1 month left for next year and all cryptos has been pumped hard already.

Looking into the history and known facts about DASH and Ethereum I personally think Dash has better chances to hit $1000 before Ethereum.
Dash is the coin of big investors while Ethereum is the coin of technology. Eth is being used by ICOs, smart contracts etc.. hence ETH would be purchased by investors then and there but since Dash investors are big and its supply is less it has better chance to cross $1000 . It is already trading at $700 and hitting $1000 would not be sooner for Dash than ETH.

For now, it seem like it is hard to reach $1000 for dash. But in cryptocurrency world, of course any coin can make big surprises.

The 2 coins serve a different purpose (DASH as payment system and Ethereum as smart contract platform). Then both projects have good potential and they will probably both reach $1000 in 2018
