Hi team, do you already have a demo version of this exchange platform? I have visited the website but I can't find it. And where is the ico details? I don't see any information related ico from the announcement. Is this mean bitmora will not raising fund from crowdsale?

We are are crypto to crypto trading platform. Think Poloniex or Bittrex. We will not be decentralized, but plan on working towards users being in control of their private keys in the future.

A good exchange system by offering a variety of conveniences and lower costs than other exchanges will create a tight competition in the stock exchanges for crypto players

Why have you decided to set funding campain rather than ICO? I think ICO would allow you to raise more funds and hype in social media. This blog is more sensitive to ICO.

An ICO is subject to a lot more legal regulations, and we also have no use for such token. Our first funding round of 600k is being gathered solely through crowdfunding. In the future after launch, we will open round 2 of investing however, it will be private towards selected VCs.

Although the concept of bitmora is different,
but hopefully bitmora can compete with other projects, which use ico path

The four points which were the reasons of developing this project has been the major problems all this time. High fees, network speed, phone live support and providing operator support are the advantages of this exchange. I wish the best of luck

That is good but with new exchanges doing a profit-sharing like Coss and Kucoin shares it will have a hard time but you do have a unique feature like getting control of your private key I don't know of any exchange that has this feature and is this really possible?

This must be the third or the fourth time the Bitmora team have tried to launch their project. As with the previous attempts they had threads stating their intent but could not get their idea off the ground.

On one of the attempts they showed they had a $15k investment out of a $60k target but there was little or no interest in it, certainly investors were not lining up.

There is no reason to be so sure this attempt to get their idea off the ground will succeed because of previous failures but I give credit to them for trying again and again. The investment involved for them to meet their propositions are huge. Keeping all other things related to the actual trading matters aside, they intend to have telephone support staff which will probably be based in the US (not elsewhere to save funds) so will be costly.

The key reason for Bitmora launch failures in the past was lack of investment. Had the team believed in their idea so much surely they could have arranged the $60k they needed when they first tried to launch but two main players in the project seemed to believe in the project but did not seem to invest their own funds. The reason I declined to invest in Bitmora many months ago was because it seemed the two founders wanted to create and direct the project but had little or no funds themselves.

I hope they succeed, it would be nice to see a new exchange with new formats to choose from.

I agree, full credit for their intentions and attempts in trying to get started but they cannot go down the ICO route simply because of a recent modification to US regulations which states all US citizens/residents and passport holders are not allowed to invest in non SEC accredited investments (including ICOs).

Any US based organisation that starts an ICO without gaining accreditation through the SEC will be raided by the police and the team arrested for breaking the law. Any US citizens/residents and passport holders wanting to participate in ICOs have to check with the SEC to see if it is legal other they too would be breaking the law.

Hello, I've acknowledged your concerns and will address a few of them here personally.

Firstly, I'd like to address your statement towards this had already failed multiple times. We never actually failed (in our eyes), we didn't see much response using our first method, and went into development to build our new site and investors portal, which has had an amazing response in the past 3 weeks with over 50 new signs ups a day, and multiple investments being made daily, most of these averaging $1,000+. While I see from your POV it could be seen as the first time was a failure, however to us we never saw it that way. We're still the same team, and still have all the contracts with our companies before.

I'd also like to address my teams commitment to this project. We are a small team, and we all put in very long hours to do a little bit of everything. Everyone on my team has made huge sacrifices the past few months, including me being forced to move across the country (again, twice in the same year), and we've all invested capital of our own into Bitmora.

I do appreciate you following our project, even months after we last talked. I'm glad to see that you're still interested in the concept and support the idea.

Pretty much this. As well, for us to operate an ICO legally, we'd have to make it a utility, which would be us lying like other ICO's making up a reason why their coin is a utility. We do not want to get involved in that. We support decentralization, we support cryptocurrency, we do not support the blatant ICO scams that have made a huge stain on this sector.
We'd much rather, and have already talked about it, years from now going public with an IPO. But as said, that'd be many years from now. If the SEC finalizes regulations on ICOs in which we could launch one under them, then we'd gladly launch one. However, by the time that happens, we'll be completely open and an IPO would make more sense from a business standpoint.

Greetings all, the Bitmora team would like to release a formal statement to show you where we currently stand. First and foremost, we are very surprised by the overwhelming support we've been given these past couple months. Seeing all the comments on both social media and emails really helps us get out of bed every morning. Monday the 8th was our biggest day so far. Signups on the site went up by nearly 25%, and our emails filled up quickly with questions, feedback, and comments. We are still trying to work through all those emails, so rest assured, you will be answered. We've also had numerous potential investors want to schedule a phone call with us, and we're working on getting back to all those requests.

We would also like to address our final goal of $600k, which is pretty ambitious for us. Right now, we've made amazing progress and every day we get that much closer. With that said, we still have a bit to go. Our minimum goal is $250k, and we're starting to get close to touching that, but we're not there yet. These next weeks are going to be critical to ensure we launch on time. We encourage all potential investors to please reach out to either colton@bitmora.com or elias@bitmora.com and set up on time to call and discuss the company. We both enjoy talking with potential investors over the phone, and it really does make the connection between you and us.

One last thing we would like to touch on is something a few have reached out to us for, but we don't offer publicly: Investing via USD. As you're aware, right now we only accept investments through CoinPayments, which only accepts coins. We will not release a system for USD investments, however, if you would like to invest via USD, then please email colton@bitmora.com directly and we can work with you on that. We don't want to deny anybody if they wish to invest in us, but for legalities, it's the route we have to take. In the end though, if it's all you are able to give, we do have a special circumstance policy.

Sincerely,

Bitmora Team

I wanted to see and know the rating of your ICO. I can't found your ICO on ICOVoting.com. Users wanted to know a full and reliable rating about you.

ICOVOTING     (https://icovoting.com)   [ All review and ICO in one place (https://icovoting.com)   ]       ICOVOTING       (https://icovoting.com)
 Website (https://icovoting.com) |  User guide  (https://icovoting.com/storage/pdf/user-guide.pdf) | Telegram (https://t.me/ICOVoting_news)

They are fundraising like crowdfunding using cryptos. They are not having an ICO.

Bitmora is based in the US, operated by US citizens so if they operate an ICO or accept FIAT then they will have to conform to various rules and regulations that could mean financial penalties and even jail for those that fall foul of it. I doubt the S.E.C will give a small start-up accredited status so they only option they have is crowdfund using using cryptos.

Cryptocurrency Software development is the latest trading option for the traders. Today max trader is going to their own open source bitcoin trading platform because of bitcoin is the very very famous coin in today era and growing very fast toward the high price. Many of people want to develop their own trading software and BR softech giving the solution of Bitcoin trading software.

https://www.brsoftech.com/crypto-exchange-software-development.html (https://www.brsoftech.com/crypto-exchange-software-development.html)

What is this? Why have "ask for a quote" for an exchange? And who on earth is there no demo? Looks like a very unprofessional site and outfit.

Investors (people risking their money for the development of the platform) will get 12 to 18 payout months... And then after that?

Correct me if I am wrong here but it means that after these payout months, the total profit generated from the platform will directly go to the developers which is nothing different than any other platform...

I like the idea of a platform build by the community for the community but it has to be for long term... Otherwise your crowdfunding is none sense and worse than ICO, IPO or any kind of investment...

I hope I am completely wrong and someone will enlighten me here...

The project has too little hype ... Need more advertising and attract more investors ... But the problem with the exchange will be forced to pay attention to Bitmora !

Ok - a friend investor asked me to evaluate this as an investment.

I'm 48, Computer Science degree, decades of CIO, run datacenters, developed software, built up huge profit streams and production, products ...

There is no way this adds up
1) Linked in - they have no experience or track record ... education? Age - it seems like you've got a couple of youths that are hoping to go party OR try to start a business
2) I doubt they can write this software, they'd have to hire a lot of people and set up a lot of equipment or rent servers and they would run out of operating capital very fast and have to do another round of funding.
3) They can't just suddenly start returning huge paybacks - that alone is Ponzi like claims of ridiculous profits as if there is no running costs, staff, data center, compliance, customer service costs. This kind of company has a curve they get through of constant loss before profitablility starts and then small dividends come and as the scale gets higher the profitability increases. Sometimes though getting to that point means huge reinvestment to have all the wallets, back up systems etc ...
4) This is just a funds grab without any kind of real proof - even an ICO would give you some speculative token that might return some investment and give some funding that might build something if the people had the capability so this is actually sub-ICO level

What is the product really other than a fees calculation and speculative advertising for crowdfunding. I'd need to see WAY more proof and some talk that gave some idea that they even knew how to run a business.
They claim that "Completely Legal. Bitmora Inc. is a fully registered C-Corp in the USA, MSB compliant with FinCEN, and is backed by strong bank agreements." - but even the way this is worded just begs the question - why don't you put some photos of proof that you've even talked to anyone about compliance or taken any steps to even understand how to do it.
Poloniex doesn't trade in NY state even though they don't use FIAT because of compliance costs and you haven't even stated that. So you don't have any idea about the exchange/trading game. You would need to have worked for exchanges or in trading for years to have the slightest clue. If you did know this world you'd have some Bitcoin and Alts and be trading and have your own seed money by now too ... but it seems you won't put your own skin in the game.

So I'm sorry that this all seems very negative but these are just basic and obvious questions that your site should have real answers to. Any money sent to these people will not be seen again.

Good luck all

I'm going to respond in the order that you brought up your concerns. I'm (Colton Brister) personally going to respond to this.

1. As far as Linkedin goes, me personally, I am new to it. I do not have a strong presence right now, but am building it. We are planning on attending a couple conferences over the next month, so that's when I plan on personally building it up. I can assure you that our team is not in it for the party.

2. Development - we've already partnered with another company who is currently developing our platform. Our partner company is going to handle the equipment, servers and all the things necessary to keep our exchange up and running. We do have our own developers, and all of the owners, besides Joey Dagostino, who has a strong financial background, come from both software engineering and website development backgrounds. The Bitmora team and the team at our partner company all have extensive backgrounds in engineering.

3. Our investors do not start seeing a return until we launch, and by then our first funding round will be long over. That alone disqualifies any idea of a Ponzi being a possibility. We calculated the curve to profit, that's why after launch we have 1-3 months before the revenue sharing period starts, we did not want our investors to lose potential profit months. Our estimated returns through the calculator is a best case scenario. Anyone who is interested has the means of plugging their own numbers into our provided fees/revenue share percentages to come to their own conclusions. We are revenue sharing, not profit sharing. No where do we state that any return is a guarantee. If our revenue for a certain month is $0, the payouts for that month will be $0. Us and our partner company have planned accordingly to avoiding this situation, and in time, we aim to be the top exchange.

4. Why would we launch an ICO? To be legal, we'd have to be a utility token. If an exchange launches with a token, calling it a "utility" would be borderline fraud. Such token is not a "utility" to us, and without calling it a Utility Token would land us in big trouble with the SEC as we are a US regulated company.

Our FinCEN compliance is public information, along with business incorporation. This is not a question, as it's easily searchable via verifiable government systems.
Nowhere on our site do we state we will allow customers from NY state, in fact, you can find replies (maybe even in this thread) stating the opposite. The process to get a BitLicense is lengthy, and beyond our financial reaches at the moment. The money to do so is much better served toward other options. Regarding that issue, there are many countries that we will not operate in, such as those designated by the Department of Homeland Security. I can also assure you that all of my partners and most of my staff have invested their own money into this project. This particular investment round is just like any other company, it is to help us reach our highest goals by launch.

I encourage you to contact me directly if you'd like to talk over email or to schedule a phone call, colton@bitmora.com

Thank you for your concerns and reaching out,
Colton Brister

Everyone, of course, should read the Whitepaper before investing in any project, but to get a personal reply like that is a hell of an assurance.

Hello all! The Bitmora team would like to take some time to announce a few things. First off, we have reached our minimum goal to launch and will be up and running in no time! Thank you all so much for the support, we could have not done it without our investors. We are going to finalize the contract with our partner company this week and get our exchange up and running as soon as possible.

Over the course of the next couple of weeks Bitmora team members will be touring various call centers across California to ensure that we are prepared as possible for phone support on launch and we will be pushing marketing hard to help us reach our maximum funding goal. Marketing will include traveling to various cryptocurrency conferences worldwide, and publishing press releases on a vast number of news outlets.

Bitmora team members are working daily to maintain our investors portal and respond to all inquiries in a timely manner. A legal page is being drafted for our website which will include all public legal documents pertaining to Bitmora for your viewing.

If you haven’t yet, please sign up on our portal located on our website at https://www.bitmora.com and begin voting on user suggestions and coins to be added to our exchange. On our portal you can also view investment options and help Bitmora become the future of cryptocurrency exchanges!

Again, we thank everyone for their continued support and big things are ahead! Stay tuned for more updates throughout the next couple weeks.

We encourage anyone that has any questions or concerns to please get in touch with us at inquiries@bitmora.com.

Sincerely,
Bitmora Team

Great news I am very glad that we were able to collect the minimum capitalization I supported the project in the bounty of the company and will continue to monitor Bitmora ! Good luck ! My best regards.

Hey Bitmora team,

Is there any official that is being updated more regularly, that we can follow?
After all, we've put our money in this project, without any safety option regarding getting tokens back etc.

So a regular official channel for announcements it's kind of needed.

Thanks

Happy Friday everyone, the Bitmora Team would like to take a bit of your time to give you an update on the project, launch date, and beta.

First off we would like to thank everyone for the continued support and contributions to the project. Honestly, without it, we would not be where we are today. So far we have raised just under $300k, which is above our minimum goal and ensures launch. I'd also like to let everyone know that we have officially signed a partnership with AlphaPoint in building this exchange platform and we are very excited to give an official launch date of May 12th for our public release. With the public release of our exchange, our mobile app will also come out, which is sooner than initially thought. As for our beta, that is also scheduled to come out within the next 6-8 weeks. We are trying to allocate at least four weeks of solid beta before launch. Images of the exchange platform will start to roll out over the coming weeks as well, so be sure and keep an eye out for them!

I'd also like to touch on something we haven't talked much about yet, and that's our education platform. By this point it should be clear that Bitmora is not about building some random pop-up exchange, we are changing the way this sector acts and actively educating people on trading and Blockchain technologies. Sometime soon after launch, we will release our Education Center. This will be a section of our site where you can go to both read tutorials and watch video lectures. Topics will include beginner trading tips, candlestick tutorials, and general Blockchain education. We are actively working with trading and Blockchain educators and professionals to have this platform ready for launch. However, no official date is confirmed yet.

Lastly, I'd like to remind everyone that our funding round B is still open. Contributors are actively being accepted every day and if you haven't already and wish to contribute, we encourage you to do so now. We do not have a date on when contributions will be closed, but they will not remain open after the beta is released.

Thank you all for your support,
Sincerely,
Bitmora Team

Hello, we only post announcements on this thread and answer direct questions. No new information has come out since our last update of February 23rd, which we announced our partnership with AlphaPoint and our launch date of May 12th, 2018. We also touched on our education platform which is being built. A statement was released by the SEC today that will affect us and the DC Blockchain Summit is continuing to take place today and tomorrow where AlphaPoint is currently at, and we are monitoring. By next Monday we will be releasing a statement regarding the SEC's latest public statement regarding mandatory regulatory registration for all exchanges that offer services to US citizens. That update will be posted here, on social media, and our voting portal.

Sincerely,
Bitmora Team

That might be the least of anyones worries when strict regulation comes in by the US government.

You see, when it becomes a matter of owners and board of directors getting jail sentences if the exchanges are not conforming to soon to be introduced regulations then various US based exchanges and those dealing with US citizens/passport holders all over the world will have to consider one of two things. One is to simple close down like many did in China when their laws came in and the other is to beef up security to unprecedented levels and apply for a US licence to trade as an exchange. That will be a long difficult process that companies like Coinbase with hundreds of millions in investments will sail through but smaller companies and start-ups will struggle with.

Looking at Bitmora and the finances that have been put in I had deep reservations about its long term viability. It has not even launched yet and if regulations comes in to force before it launches then it may never launch. The coming days will be interesting.

Hello, payouts are limited to 18 months as it is strictly a revenue share model. We are in talks with our lawyers about launching a token after launch that will serve multiple purposes in voting, profit sharing, and discounted fees.

Happy Monday,

Bitmora is launching in a very new sector of FinTech, and as with any new technology, uncertainty can play a major role in both very well established companies, and startups. Last Wednesday, March 7th the SEC announced that all cryptocurrency exchanges which are not registered with the SEC that trade coins they deem securities are illegal. This announcement has affected every single major cryptocurrency exchange, as well as us.

This was hit to all cryptocurrency exchanges that operate in the United States. The cryptocurrency community has known this day would come eventually, and the Bitmora Team had always had a plan for when it did. To continue listing tokens in which the SEC may deem a "security," the SEC will require us to register as an exchange and/or broker-dealer. We are pleased to announce that Bitmora will be taking the first steps to registering with the SEC and become fully compliant with US laws. Once registered, the Bitmora Exchange will be one of the first fully registered and regulated cryptocurrency exchanges in the United States. In addition to registration, Bitmora will still follow its internal guidelines for new token listings and ICOs.

Bitmora will keep you updated over the coming weeks and will release public record documentation of registration on their website when ready.

Not knowing what is going on with the Bitmora situation, hopefully they will update here soon for thos expecting information but sadly it is a common issue with many companies and websites seeking investment. All too often bounties and rewards usually get paid late or after a lot of hassle and in many cases nothing is paid out.

If you were promised bounty payments in ETH then surely that means a lot of investment from people buying shares in Bitmora.

How did the sharing of bounty work? How much were you promised? How was it calculated?

Seems a huge bold step Bitmora offering to pay ETH bounties without even having proper secure investment

Post by: Bitmora on March 24, 2018, 11:28:25 PM
Hi everyone, I'm going to release a quick update regarding the bounty payout concerns. Bitmora has always advocated being as transparent as possible, so today I will give our reasoning for the delays.

Our launch is set for May 12th, which is about seven weeks out from today. The bounty will not be paid out until after our launch. We understand this is an extended period, however, we want our participants to know that we are not blowing them off. I respond to multiple participants a day regarding this problem. Both my team and I all are very grateful for the support from the bounty program because we firmly believe that we would not have gotten the amount contributed we did without all of you. Our bounty in total costs roughly $50,000, among thousands of participants. A few weeks ago we came to the dilemma of paying off the bounty now, vs. waiting until after launch and putting that money towards rising legal issues that could stop or delay us from launching. While yes, we could pay off the bounty, it would be taking a gamble of us getting more contributions/investments before launch. Gambling with our finances is not something our supporters want, nor us as a company.

I understand some might be upset with this. However, the participants I've already spoken with have all showed their support and want us to succeed. I hope you all can continue supporting us as we build and launch this exchange.

Lastly, I'd like to resolve one more issue regarding the bounty. Starting this Monday, I will be assigning a couple of our already trained support staff to handle bounty-related questions and concerns, which was previously managed by executives and team members. However, that has since turned inefficient and time costly. With this said, we encourage all participants with concerns and questions to come forward and message us through Bitcointalk. Whether it be an issue with your stakes or if you'd like to talk about the payout delay, starting Monday we'll be there for your questions.

I thank you all for your continued support,
Colton Brister

Sorry but I do not agree with what you have put forward. Not impressed at all with the reasons given for delaying bounty payouts and to top it off certainly not impressed as to what will happen if those bounties will be used in future to pay for legal fees.

If bounties add up to be $50,000 and you want to hold that money just because legal issues might arise in the future in the run up to launch and you might have to spend that money on lawyer fees then it has to be said if all businesses did that then there would be no trust around. Your terms and conditions should have made all that clear with various scenarios and possibilities before people signed up.

This very sad and bad news has seriously dented the trust element of your brand name (Bitmora)

I’m sorry you don’t accept our response. Bounties will be paid. I understand some people will be mad, and that’s both expected and acceptable. The money is not being “held”. It’s actively being spent to ensure we launch successfully and legally. Will it all be spent? Highly doubt it, but we can’t just pay out half and leave the other half dry until after launch, that would upset the half that didn’t get picked to be paid first.

I’d like to remind you, participants who have been told this already are okay with it. Our contributors and investors would rather us legally launch and delay the bounty a while longer.
We are sorry about this, and will follow up with an announcement when our bounty payout day is coming up.

I do encourage people with concerns or anything related to the bounty to PM us. That is where our support agents will be focused towards helping you.

"Almody" is one of your participants and a few posts back he seems oblivious to what you wrote because he wanted his bounty so you saying participants are okay with it does not seem appropriate. By your own statement you prefer to have 100% bounty people hanging on waiting when you could have had 50% of them paid by selecting the most active and beneficial to Bitmora and kept a delay on the other 50% therefore only half of the people expecting bounties would have been waiting, but you prefer to keep all of them waiting because you do not want those that will wait a little longer to be upset that they were paid in the second batch. Serious? That is a huge flaw in your thinking.

You had a great chance to make to something of this project based on trust but for now it is lost to many participants. I hope you have a successful launch and get off to a good start and people start believing in your project again otherwise it will not last long.

Hi, at the moment no. We don't have much use for such coin as our fee system has already been developed around our current model. A coin might be created after launch and be implemented with the voting system, however, nothing has been made official as of yet.

Yes, there are a lot of questions on this project, they have non-standard bounty passed their tokens, how will the payments be made not clearly, if we assume that the exchange plans to launch its stock in May, then payments will begin?

It seems they promised to pay bounty participants in ETHER but they have postponed paying them out.

We will continue to wait. We have no other option. I very much hope that this will be final and the payments will be paid

Hello, correct our launch is in roughly 5 weeks. The bounty spreadsheet will be finalized by the end of April, and at the point, you'll be able to see what you will be paid out. Payouts will begin after the launch of May 12th.
Due to the extended period of time it is taking for payouts to begin, we will be checking with everybody to verify their ETH address has not changed. That process will begin closer to launch.

I read whitepaper but I am not sure how you will solve liquidity problem with multiple exchanges.

How will your system execute in other exchanges? API?
What will happen to other exchange fees and transfer fees also what happen if there is a problem with other exchange? Waiting times?
Will there be a problem if other exchange is not SEC registered? For example, you will release FLASH also. They are in cryptotopia, will you execute the order in cryptotopia which will be in NZ based?

Hi, our order book will be connected to the order books of Bitstamp and Bitfinex, this is done using an API connection between our order books. We do pay a small, discounted fee to both exchanges when one of our orders are filled by them.
If the other exchanges do not register with the SEC, that does not affect us right now.
As for FLASH, right now they are not listed on the two exchanges we're connected with, so they cannot fulfill that order and it will rely solely on our books. Most of the coins we plan on releasing are listed on at least one of the order books we connect with.

Thanks for the answer. I invested a little bit. I hope you guys will have some volumes after you launch your platform.

1) When you lunch at May, will IOS and android applications be ready?
2) If you are thinking to create a yoken/coin after you lunch, will there be a bonus for first investors?

Thanks

For the app, we plan on having it released on our launch. If any delays arise with this, we will be sure and let everyone know.
As for a token, it's hard to say right now. We would like to create one that would be integrated with our voting system, and it would also be utilized for cheaper trading fees. Right now though, our main goal is having a successful launch. After launch if we do decide to move forward with creating a token, we would definitely consider giving a bonus to our early contributors.

No they are not, as mentioned so many times before here. It is illegal for US citizens or passport holders to participate or operate in ICOs unless they are via a regulated and approved company that is registered with the US SEC.

Bitmora is a start up that is not registered with any agency that provides protection for them to have an ICO.

I really like the idea that Bitmora is not doing an ICO because it is so difficult to find investments I can participate in, as a U.S. citizen. I am also very happy to see that it will provide passive income. I expect a good future for this project and can't wait to invest.

Thanks for the answer. It would be really helpful for new, potential investors like myself, to have that marked clearly on the first post since it seems that it keeps getting asked.

With that said, I admire the fact that they aren't creating an essentially useless token to hand out to investors. Instead they are actually paying out in profit sharing. That's pretty lucrative.

Hi, so we have a lot of new features that make Bitmora stand out from anyone else.
First and foremost is our customer support, no other exchange can say that they provide live phone support to their customers, and guarantee a 12 hour or less ticket response time. Next is our fees, which cater directly to the higher volume traders, upwards of $10,000+, and will essentially cut their fees in half. We're also not going to simply go quiet and halt development upon launch, we plan on releasing new features and listings monthly to make sure Bitmora never stops growing and expanding. Lastly, is we're fully regulated, which means your money is your money, we take great pride in being one of the first exchanges to move forward with SEC registration.

No, we will not allow it to delay for everyone. About a week before we plan on doing payouts, we will be contacting everyone. We will not wait for a response, once the deadline has hit payouts will begin. We will start with people who have updated/said their address was good, and then move on. Just like all other bounties, it is up to the individual themselves to ensure they keep their address updated, however, we will be reaching out as a general courtesy.

Are you guys doing an ICO to fund Bitmora?

No they are not, as mentioned so many times before here. It is illegal for US citizens or passport holders to participate or operate in ICOs unless they are via a regulated and approved company that is registered with the US SEC.

Bitmora is a start up that is not registered with any agency that provides protection for them to have an ICO.

Yes I agree their OP should be updated clearly stating certain issues and facts important to their thread.

Thanks for both of your suggestions on making it more clear, as it does seem we answer this question a lot. While we just upgraded to a full picture designed thread, I'll see what we can do to squeeze it in at the bottom for better clarification.

When atomic swap is implemented, will that have an impact on Bitmora?

Have you guys approached any big investors at this point?

We are in active talks with a few large investors.

Hopefully you guys can come out with some serious funding. Your features, if well implemented, could put you miles ahead of what other exchanges are doing.

Hi, as in actually building one, no. A couple of our developers have built applications on the Blockchain, and have a fair bit of experience in that. As well, our partners at AlphaPoint have developers and engineers who have developed for NYSE, NASDAQ, and some European markets.

Our order books are connected to the order books of both Bitfinex and Bitstamp to bring liquidity in.

Surely as with all new businesses they too would like to have all sorts of customers signing up. Some might be new to crypto, others might be disillusioned with the likes of Cryptopia or other exchanges. No idea which user base will enjoy using Bitmora most. Let it have its launch then we will see where it goes from there

As someone who has never used a traditional exchange, I can only imagine the crypto exchanges are very heavily based on traditional ones.

What would you say are the biggest differences?

It's good that you are picky. Too many projects just like to have as many advisors as they can get on thinking it makes them look good, but to serious investors this isn't impressive. It just makes me wonder if any of them are actively helping the company at all.

From their weekly newsletter

Weekly Review - April 16th, 2018

"Our developers have been hard at work putting the final pieces together for launch. Our beta has not been scheduled yet, but hopefully within the next 10–14 days we will know more information about it. We will allow at least two weeks for the beta to take place. In the event we don’t feel ready to release a beta before May 12th, then we will make May 12th our beta release and the public launch will be a couple weeks later. This process will ensure both our systems are ready for trading, and that we’re giving our contributors a beta to test on before the general public."

Ours was pretty successful, however as soon as it ended our following went down rapidly. It was a temporary way to get the word out, but not very permanent. However, I believe we could not of have raised as much as we did without our bounty participants.

Decentralized exchanges are still very much in development, and no decentralized exchange has met the needs and wants of the community yet. The technology behind a functional and practical DEX is still in development. With that said, many people believe 2018 is the year of decentralized exchanges, and we are in the early planning stages of launching our DEX in the later part of 2018.

Being able to trade land, diamonds, and gold instantly could be incredibly useful. You'd have to have a central authority over those kind of assets though I would think.

Got to say, keeping in mind the unique voting and suggestion system, guaranteed phone and ticket support, a planned education system, unique fee system the reality is Bitmora will be still just an exchange, not that different in its core function from Cryptopia or others.

The phone support system which if memory recalls will be US based call handlers will cost money and if business picks up slowly one by one your unique offerings will be discontinued until or unless there is enough trading going on for Bitmora to fund those offerings.

Though there are some interesting features will it be enough to prize people away from Cryptopia and the rest?

We may also at beta allow a set number of non-contributors to register for it, however we have not 100% decided on this, and it would be a first come, first serve basis.

These sound like awesome features to me.

I've had so many issues with Kraken and Binance, I nearly didn't get into crypto at all. They just had flat out broken sign up processes, both! There was absolutely no way to contact them either, I tried! To have even simple support ticket systems would be a huge upgrade and a great way to get a reputation as the most reliable exchange around.

Given all that Bitmora says it will provide you have to balance that offering out with the fact it will be a new exchnage with no track record. Only time will tell about Bitmora and its success but I do wish the team have a good launch and their business will be accepted by crypto holders.

So I just heard another exchange talking about implementing 'diamond trading', have you guys heard of this?

Right now we do not plan on listing diamonds, gold, or real estate. With that said though, it was brought up in a meeting back in February and it's not a complete rule out, however it won't at all be ready by launch and I can't even confirm we'll offer this in the future.

Oh, I wonder if they really did mean physical assets.

I had assumed it was like a form of atomic swap.

I can only assume it'd be a ERC-721 token.

I haven't heard about ERC-721. You guys must have learned a lot while preparing to make Bitmora.

Thanks, looking forward to reading it. I have no doubt Coinbase will sail through the SEC requirements and Poloniex will not be far behind. As Bitmora, it has not officially launched yet so will be interesting to see where this goes.

Thank you for the link and update.

I read it and am not surprised that Bitmora will not be authorised and registered with the SEC at the time of launch. Apart from Coinbase (which has hundreds of million of US$ invested by bluechip companies) which should sail through SEC accreditation, others will struggle. One of the things that is in Bitmora's favour is that it is based and registered as LLC in the US. The biggest problem that makes SEC regulation difficult is that whereas Coinbase has a trading history and has many millions in reserves to cover various losses and provide confidence to regulators, Bitmora unfortunately only has the funding raised from its investment-for-launching-a-new-business format and zero trading history and the amount raised was not a massive amount.

FIAT trading will also not be as straight forward as many hope simply because of the red-tape involved but the things that I gathered from your review is that the business still hopes to go live on time but with 10 coins and with FIAT deposit/withdrawals but if not they will be added shortly added after launch and in the future you hope to become registered with the SEC.

The setbacks you listed do not surprise me because I had and still have lots of reservations about the viability of your whole project based on what I know of it (this forum and whitepaper) but wish it all goes well. You put a lot of time and effort in to Bitmora so definitely respect you and wish the best. I hope you have a successful launch as it would be good for crypto enthusiasts to have more choice. Thank you for the review link.

Now it's a very hot time for Bitmora, since before the launch of the beta version there is not much time left, and the team tries to provide all the moments in the work of the exchange, and working with Fiat will attract more customers.

Let us see what the coming days hold.

Bounties have yet to be paid after being delayed, legal fees to pay towards SEC regulation might eat in to Bounties and might delay payouts, the project still has some days before launch and nothing yet is taken for granted.

Let us see what the coming days bring.

Hi everyone, our Weekly Review was just posted on our Medium Blog. However, we're also going to post it here as a public statement. There's a lot of important information in it, and I want to ensure everyone gets updated.
The full announcement can be found here: https://medium.com/bitmora/bitmora-weekly-review-may-7th-2018-7e8d371ab6b6 (https://medium.com/bitmora/bitmora-weekly-review-may-7th-2018-7e8d371ab6b6)

This update will also be posted on our voting portal.

The Big One
These past few weeks have been incredibly busy for us. We’ve been training our ticket and phone support agents, holding meetings with banks, acquiring partnerships, and developing a one-of-a-kind exchange with hopes of launching this coming Saturday. Unfortunately, after some serious talks we’ve decided to push our launch back a few weeks. We are estimating a two-week delay which would set us to launch on May 26th, so as of now that is our official launch date. Bitmora will have a closed beta for their contributors very soon. We will, of course, keep you updated on this process through our social media pages. We are terribly sorry for any inconveniences caused by this delay, but we assure you it is for the best!

There are two reasons for this. First and foremost, we don’t feel ready to release the platform. It’s not quite where we wanted to be, and there are still a few features that we want for launch. We are doing intense in house testing to make there are no bugs when we launch our platform. The second reason is we are finally ditching the United States of America! The US has caused nothing but trouble for us for the past year, everything from fundraising to regulation, and we’ve hit walls with American Banking Institutions. We’ve decided to do what many of our supporters have been urging for months now, move to Malta!

Why Malta?
Malta is a country located on an island in the Mediterranean Sea. They are a reasonably large name in the Cryptocurrency and Blockchain world and has been called the “Blockchain Island”. Malta is actively building a supportive regulatory and technical infrastructure to support the Blockchain industry. They are part of the EU, providing us direct access to some of the most crypto-friendly banking institutions in the world. This will help have our fiat system ready by launch and will provide less oversight than the strict and “wild west” regulations of the United States.

This move will not affect front-end operations. While we’ll now have an office somewhere in Malta (location is still being determined), our headquarters will still reside in San Diego, California. This move does not mean we’ve given up on the US; we feel that US regulators are still a year or two away from making their minds up on what’s what in the new world, and we’re not going to sit around to watch from the sidelines. In the future, when US banks and their regulators catch up to the modern world, we will happily switch operations back over to a US bank. Our goal has always been to build an exchange that not only outperforms the competition, but also is one that you can trust. Unfortunately, staying in the US has prevented us from achieving those goals.

What Does this Change?
This changes a few things and will allow us to add many new features we otherwise would have had to hold out for after launch. The first noticeable difference is that we will have full fiat trading by launch, along with a fully completed Education Center, and sleeker user interface. This could also provide us the ability to launch an ICO much more easily than we could in the US. So yes, for all of our supporters that have been asking us to launch an ICO, it could very well become a reality in the coming months.

You may also be wondering about our contributors portal and bounty payouts. The ability to contribute will still be closed May 11th, as previously announced. As for bounty payouts, those will also remain the same, starting after our launch.

We know nobody wanted a delay, but there’s a lot of good that’s coming out of this situation. We only have one shot to launch Bitmora, and we’re going to use this delay to our advantage to make things better.

Well the above is what I wrote on 2nd May 2018.

The "bounty people" just want their ETH payouts and nothing else, most of them promoted Bitmora not because they believed in the project but because they wanted ETH nothing more and nothing less. delays and reasons for those delays mean nothing to those that promoted Bitmora.

I did not believe in the project, had doubts from the beginning thus did not become an early investors after making enquiries and thus far those doubts been proven to be true but I always wished the Bitmora team success regardless.

Sorry but for what is is worth (or not) Bitmora has just damaged its reputation again but this time probably beyond repair.

I'm surprised you guys stayed in the US as long as you did. Their rules and regulations are some of the strictest in the world. To compete in such a highly competitive environment like crypto exchanges, you need to have all the advantages and none of the heavy baggage. The SEC regulations are a huge heavy weight to have to carry, glad you guys have decided to shed it.

Yeah I agree. ICO's are so strife with scams, and honestly it is starting to look bad on the companies doing them because there are so many scams. Bitmora is doing it right.

I really like the idea of an exchange that is community-based. I think that could create the best exchange because customers will be happier when using it. Do you have any examples of topics you might reach out to the community for input?

Also, you guys may already be aware, but I went to take a look at your first post in this thread but the image was not rendering properly.

I remember hearing about Bitmora a while back, and they were supposed to have live phone support. Is that still planned for the upcoming launch?

Do you guys have a mobile app yet?

Hi, yes we will be launching with a mobile app for both Android and iOS.

Oh wow, really? You guys will have iOS Android, and web exchanges ready to go on May 26th?

Did I understand you correctly here?

Yeah everyone wants me to join their telegram, but they require a phone number. I don't understand why everything expects you to have a phone number in this day and age, SMS is like 20 year old technology. Not everyone wants to pay $60 a month for outdated bullcrap.

Bounty distribution will begin after our launch.

Is there a github where I can check commits?

Because we are a centralized exchange, our source is closed to the public to prevent any security leaks. If we launch a token in the future, that would then be on Github.

I appreciate you guys taking the time to consider security and understand why you haven't put your work on Github publicly.

Has your exchange been through any audits yet? If so, how were the results?

As we haven’t launched yet, we have not conducted any audits. Once launched, order books will be routinely audited to ensure everything stays in check. We’ll also conduct 3rd party audits after launch regularly, more information on auditing and monthly financial statements will be discussed more in depth after launch. Once we get going though, we will have a monthly, and quarterly schedule that we’ll follow.

What kind of smart contracts will Bitmora be using? Anything new?

Please can you clarify the question.

There are a bunch of different smart contracts out there that have many functions and features. Just wondering which ones Bitmora would be using.

It seems that they have not paid for all the bounty campaigns, which they held in the past, so what they do for now till the time they also have not provided a statement about gift payments to everyone.

Hi, on Page 7 you can find an update regarding our bounty. That statement still applies today. Payment will be in ETH, however, that does not change the rate of time in which we will pay you guys.

Well according to Bitmora the launch was supposed to be on 26th May 2018 (yesterday) but there has been no news

The last post in this thread by Bitmora team was on 22nd May 2018 (5 days ago)  but there has been no further posts

There is no update on their Bitmora website (bitmora.com) as it still states "An exchange for the people, by the people. An exchange built by real traders and innovators that not only listens to the public, but makes their ideas come reality. Our beta launch will be Saturday, May 26th!" and no update on their Medium: https://medium.com/bitmora/bitmora-weekly-review-may-16th-2018-401e1ad8f6ae (https://medium.com/bitmora/bitmora-weekly-review-may-16th-2018-401e1ad8f6ae)

This silence and all lack of updates does not foster confidence in investors or prospective exchange users.

Hello everyone. As you may have noticed, our scheduled beta launch did not happen. We did not foresee this and we are not proud of it ourselves. One of our head developers had an issue arise and without him here on Saturday, launch was impossible. Our team went to sleep Friday night expecting to wake up to a functional exchange but instead woke up to a nightmare scenario that not only disrupted our team’s holiday weekend but also served as a major setback for the entire project.

We have already started hiring new developers to help us move forward. Two weeks ago, we said we would make up for the delay by adding new features and polishing our user experience, and we did, up until Saturday. No one on our team planned for this, and we are all filled with regret and disappointment. With that said, we must move forward. We expect to have a platform ready to bring online later this week, however trading might not be immediately available. Trading should be enabled shortly after platform release, at which point beta will officially launch and will last an expected 4-6 weeks. Beta will only be open to contributors, and we expect many several changes during this period, including both UI updates and the addition of new features.

What happened Saturday hurt our contributors, investors, bounty participants, and us. The followers and supporters of Bitmora makes for a rather small community and we rely on each and every one of you to spread the word of our movement throughout the crypto community and we feel we have let you down. We will make this right, but we have a lot of work to do internally to make that happen. We will keep everyone updated over the coming days, we hope to have good news soon.

Often times I see on every project that has gained the trust of the entire community, at least they have prepared everything to make it look like they are really ready to run a quality project, and not just a protective promise to manipulate every question everyone asks. .

We’re going to get the beta platform out ASAP to contributors, however launch itself will be a very comfortable 4-6 weeks after. During beta we will slowly start to push out our education platform. We will ensure this can not happen again.

Pretty easy to spot those info in the announcement. But, if you are lazy enough, I can help you with quoting these facts from the website.

Bitmora Inc.
4858 Mercury Street
Suite 210
San Diego CA, 92111

The exchange is centralised as they have a cold storage system.
Hope it helps.

No sign of any update with real information about going live for the beta release and there was no mention about the developer, the security holes and how much money was spent on hiring the new developers and most importantly no information about when the bounties will be paid and no information about the viability of the business because nobody knows how much money is left in the kitty. There is no breakdown of how much and where the money raised has been spent.

All of that info has been covered numerous times, and has not changed. As always, people on our Telegram can ask their questions freely and many topics have been talked about in the past week.
As for money, we can see about releasing a public financial document, but nobody has bothered to ask. A lot of money was lost during Bitcoin’s drop in December-February, around 100k, that’s slightly our fault because we kept all funds in crypto (we no longer do that). Money spent is obviously scattered, but we’ve kept track of everything so some sort of pie chart can be made for the past, and future. Money left is around 50k.

Title: Re: [ANN] [EXCHANGE] Bitmora - Digital Asset Exchange

The last update from the Bitmora team was on 15th June 2018 (nearly 2 weeks ago)

Surely they should be actively reassuring potential customers and existing investors by using all modes of communication regularly such as this forum and their other channels including Medium.

What confidence does anyone get from Bitmora? This seems to be a prime example of why investors get scared of investing. People get scared because the projects do not get launched on time, the milestones become a non-starter and the reasons/excuses for the delay are presented.

What is going on with Bitmora?

Still silence from Bitmora..... I am so glad I did not invest in this project and I feel sorry for those that did invest.

Why have the Weekly Updates not been posted? What are those investors supposed to do that have had enough of the situation and want their money returned to them?

Hi, we keep people updated via Telegram. Weekly Reviews have not been posted because there's nothing to review. Development is moving 7 days a week, but beyond that it's pretty slow. No new partnerships, agreements, and Malta is on hold as well until they release their new set of laws. We are doing our best to bring a quality exchange for everybody. All of this information was given to our contributors and followers before we stopped sending Weekly Reviews.
I was hoping this past week the devs would be far enough to provide screenshots/video of the exchange, but it seems they're not quite there yet. By the looks of things it looks like this coming week our production environment will be ready to view so I can send some images out along with a Weekly Review.
As for contributors, if they've been following us on Telegram and/or asking questions, then they should be fully up to speed on the progress. As per our terms, contributions are not able to be refunded.
This coming week we will also release our new site (the pages that do not touch exchange functions), which should be done by Friday.

This whole situation is a complete disaster. The first mention of the company registration in Malta being postponed was in the previous post. You said well over a month ago that Malta was ideal and you should have done it earlier!

Now there is a reason to delay registration in Malta (new rules and laws). There was a reason for delaying the launch of the beta trading for investors (because the developer ran off). Then new developers are trying to launch the website but over a month later just have not managed it?

Colton, by your own admission you spent $250,000 and have just $50,000 remaining. You spent $250,000 of investors money and have nothing to show for it? You are playing with $50,000 of investors money trying to get the project launched with the live telephone operators from day one? Your $50,000 is more than enough to launch the project (just one website running on Alphapoint) using Alphapoint and their own whitelabel service.

This whole mess is something you created as a result of your own mismanagement. How many of those investors will bother investing in other projects because of the bad experience they had with Bitmora? Colton you and your fellow team member Elias should lower your heads in shame. You failed as a project manager.

How much is the Alphapoint whitelabel costing?
How much are you paying the developers?
How much did you pay the previous developer that ran-off?
How much did you spend on promotions and other expenses?

Will you provide a full breakdown so everyone can see exactly how badly you mismanaged the project with a dollar by dollar account? $250,000 spent and nothing to show!

Malta- you are correct, we did mention it in the past update... As I said, we are waiting on some laws and regulations on their end, nothing we can do to speed up their process. It's not a simple overnight task.

I honestly don't know what to tell you besides reiterating the same thing over and over. I've explained NUMEROUS times to you over the course of this month, in which NO NEW information has come out on our end. I'm not sure if you follow Maltese Law, but they are undergoing massive regulation changes involving crypto. We can't simply slide by that, just like how we can't simply slide by US regulations. We've spent a ton of money on lawyer fees getting everything sorted on our end for both US and European law.

You're still coming back to us complaining about money, when I gave you a explanation just a few weeks ago, and yet you are going to fire back with the exact same statement. A year ago you seemed to believe you could start an exchange with less than $10,00, maybe now you understand that's not quite possible by watching our downfalls.

Both my team and I understand you don't like us. That part has been the most obvious for over a year while you continuously hit us down with nasty comments, whether the news was good or bad, further damaging our brand. Our contributors have a much better attitude than you, rather than constantly hitting us down at any given opportunity, they are sticking by us, not screaming about money and are giving support.

You're right, we only got 50k left, and I can tell you right now we got even less than that now that a few weeks have passed since then. It's going to be very hard to get off the ground now as volume would be very low as we have literally nothing left to actually pump volume into the exchange. Either way, we are pushing forward. Even with the laws, regulations, and money against us. Our contributors all have the up-to-date information and we will keep pushing forward until we either launch or can't push anymore.

We've been working on this for over a year now and are not going to let one developer make make us "lower our heads in shame", if that's the way you perceive things then maybe you should go ahead and put your head down yourself.

We are going to close this thread as we don't see it as very useful. If you have any bounty questions, as always, private message us on here. Company updates and discussions will be posted on telegram and social media. Our thread will be reopened shortly once we are ready to have beta discussions as well as bounty payouts!
